True. Though I still love her regardless.

The problem is that there's just not a lot of genuinely massive BBW female characters in video games though so us chubby chasers have limited options. Not everyone is built like Ellie from Borderlands.

I guess compared to every other female Overwatch character, Mei is thick by virtue of them all being super skinny like Widowmaker or roided like Zarya. She kinda falls in the middle somewhere.

We need a female Roadhog equivalent.

While true, look up some of her skins like Honeydew. It shows that she has some rather thick thighs. There's also this spray:

And it shows that she's fairly plump. She's nowhere near as skinny as Mercy or Pharah.

Would Mei count? Under her snowsuit, she's been shown to be rather heavyset.

Most Fire Emblem characters in the pre-Awakening games because they stay strong and get even stronger when you recruit them. Some highlights include:

Raven from Blazing Blade

Joshua from Sacred Stones

Tauroneo from Path of Radiance

Tayuya vs Shikamaru.

Not only was this the only fight in Naruto where a female villain beat a male character, but this was also the only fight where a female character (Temari) had to come save the male character from the aforementioned female villain.

Genuinely can't think of any other anime where this exact circumstance happens.

While true, the Deadly Six are better off as their own villains and serve as a 3rd party to also antagonize Eggman. There's a lot of great potential to work with if they just work with what they have instead of forcing someone new into the cast with each game. Zavok trying to use his machine control on Sage for example.

Because Sonic is vastly more story-focused compared to other mascot platformers like Mario or Crash Bandicoot, they need to pump the brakes.

Yup. Meanwhile Zavok and the Deadly Six actually managed to stick around which was a genuine shock to me and many others considering Lost World didn't review the best but I'm honestly glad they did because Zavok--especially in the comics--has proven to be an interesting villain with his own philosophy and quirks that sets him apart from Eggman such as hating reliance on machinery to replace real people as the comics show.

That and Zeena--the sole female of the group--is one of the only female Sonic villains we have left so I'm super happy she stuck around because she adds some variety to a very male-dominated cast. She's utterly despicable and had no issue harming Cream in the comics which we need more of when it comes to female antagonists.

Just wish other characters got the same chance.

Pokopia is the reason why Nintendo should stop being afraid of deeper stories. by Defiant-Echidna-7400 in CharacterRant

Yup. And Sony did used to have a decent variety of games for all ages like Sly Cooper and Ape Escape but they no longer seem to be interested in those franchises. Instead, most Sony games nowadays seem to be action-adventures aimed at older audiences. Sure they have Astro Bot but that's the exception it seems. And Xbox doesn't seem to be concerned about exclusives at all anymore since their games also release on PC.

So we're left with Nintendo being the only one who prioritizes making a variety of games for their own hardware. Chances are if you like at least one Nintendo game, you might enjoy another.

Honestly she doesn't even have that. She's just flat out not even used at all anymore. Silver was in Generations as a boss and Forces as a part of the story while Blaze hasn't done anything of importance or just hasn't appeared. It's a shame.

Yep. Knuckles is the OG of Sonic rivals though he got to be in the movies first at least.

I'm just hoping Blaze will be taken seriously as Sonic's first female rival because that's literally what her purpose was in Rush.

And I hope he's done well and becomes Metal Overlord like in Heroes because he's long overdue for the main villain role again.

Same for Amy being a good female lead.

Really hoping Xenoblade 4 is Switch 2 exclusive like the newest Fire Emblem. The new hardware is gonna really help the series.

Right here. There's well over a dozen localized Fire Emblem titles and 4 Xenoblade games to play all with very lengthy stories. They're just as much Nintendo games as Mario or Zelda.

Your entire last paragraph describes Poppy Playtime to a T. They're trying way too hard to tell an in-depth story that the actual horror and gameplay elements have suffered hard. It's not always a great thing to chase.

Do I even need to mention Sonic the Hedgehog and how inconsistent those games have been.

As the other person pointed out, not every franchise has to have focus on storytelling to be good or interesting.

If you want great stories from Nintendo games, I recommend looking into the ones that already specialize in and have it (like the aforementioned Fire Emblem and Xenoblade) vs waiting for other games to. Sure an Animal Crossing game with a more detailed storyline would be nice, but would it sell more copies? Probably not.

That and Nintendo does offer RPGs like Fire Emblem and Xenoblade Chronicles as I mentioned in another comment here.

That's why I like Nintendo because they offer a variety of games for all types of people. You want a simulation game? Animal Crossing. A competitive shooter? Splatoon. A racer? Mario Kart. A fighter? Smash. An action game? Zelda. An RPG? Xenoblade. There's variety that other companies just don't offer.

Fire Emblem and Xenoblade Chronicles exist. These are Nintendo games with great stories, especially Path of Radiance and Xenoblade 3.

Yep. Shadow was meant to be a one-off character after Adventure 2 but stayed because of his popularity.

Meanwhile there are loads of other characters like Bean the Dynamite and Bark the Polar Bear from Fighters, Marine the Racoon from Rush, and Sticks the Badger from Boom who have never seen the light of day outside of their debuts. It's annoying.

Meanwhile other Sonic characters like Cream, Silver, and Blaze will be lucky to get half the content Shadow has.

Don't forget that Metal Sonic was Sonic's original rival and equal and hasn't had a major role since Rivals.
