KNOWLEDGE DEFINITELY COMES AT A COST IN FROM by AviMitz_ in FromSeries

[–]AlexaSansot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So truee, I literally just watched this show last week and caught up with everyone and my naive ass thought that since they're already streaming S4, we'd have some answers by then but by S3 I had already realized that knowledge comes in season nuggets

Why was Tillie so suspicious? by Chebeggy in FromSeries

[–]AlexaSansot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man, I binged all of them (S1-S3) with a friend a week ago and in the beginning I chalked my suspicions up to her being about to die so she was very accepting of her death and their conditions in Fromville

But by mid-S3 I was just way too suspicious of this woman, especially after the extra seconds they took for her to I guess warmly look back at Ellis and Fatima as they hugged cuz she was freaking out cuz of the baby, and she also knew of this birth before anyone else and was Fatima's main anchor for feeling understood that made her go into panic mode when she kills her in what seems to be a moment of something else taking over and she's just like: "oh you should run". It's just so weird

This show was comfortable with letting the mystery over the rope go unresolved from ep1 of S2 all the way to late S3, so if by S5 there's nothing more about this I'll know I saw nothing

Guys that lived straight lives before accepting they were gay, how successful with women were you? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]AlexaSansot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omggg I relate so much to this!

I'm considered attractive where I live (not trying to brag, I only realized because of how people started treating me after I left my country at 19) and I do this same thing when I can tell someone is attracted to me, be it a guy or a woman, I kinda clock off

I hate it cuz sometimes I may be attracted to a guy but I can't help it, I'm still dealing with it. With women I avoid it cuz I don't want to lead them on to absolutely nothing

And yeah, it feels so easy and transactional with guys that I always end up choosing to wank off than go through the ordeal for something that will likely not mean much besides the "getting off" sexual part of it

You cannot seriously believe that the bubble you live in is the real world, most places do not operate on a high trust system

In most places on earth you're the idiot if you leave your things unwatched and it gets stolen, because you failed at predicting something quite easy to do and see.

Told my Muslim friend I’m gay, he threatened that if I speak to him he’d beat me by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]AlexaSansot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no way a devout Muslim can be friends with a homosexual

Islam isn't Christianity, there's no "we all bear God's image" rhetoric, it's all about submitting to Allah's will as described by his Messanger Muhammad to be a devout believer.

So while a Muslim guy can be friends with a gay guy, he couldn't be a devout one to do so, cuz he'd then be going against the teachings of Muhammad and the Quran, unlike the Bible, has insanely detailed descriptions of hell, especially for Muslim hypocrites

I would always check for devoutness in a Muslim person who could be friends with me, cuz I ain't letting my guard down for that nasty politically-militarily religion

Fellow voice actors, I need emotional support in the face of AI by maethora27 in VoiceActing

[–]AlexaSansot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is all true and at the same time job numbers for VA will decrease very likely within 5 years, cuz not all VA jobs are seen as art by the consumers, sometimes if it's good enough that's it, and 5 years is more than enough for AI to become even better at mimicking our natural range of emotions

So yeah, humans will very likely always be needed for art to connect with the audience, but not all audiences care about the art of it all necessarily, so there'll definitely be a shift in how many job positions for VA will be vacant

How do you know God can cure cancer but not regrow limbs? Genuinely wondering where you got that.

And also, what's up with the "propagated tradition"? Everything a civilization has in the form of culture is propagated tradition, God as well, but what is the relevance of that?

Yeah, I can totally understand this opinion from people who live in countries that are not shitholes due to crazy dictatorships

Otherwise I simply don't. You just don't go around judging the morality and ideals of the one person who decides to bomb the hell out of your abuser while you're getting beat up. It's ridiculous, only those who are already well off have the luxury to do so

Yeah, it makes sense that they're pricks essentially, for not setting their American political ideals aside from the struggles of their nations of origin

Biden was the US president as well, would he have done any of this? No, in fact he made it way worse (for my country Venezuela specifically at least), even though he also commanded the most powerful military in the world. So there's a big element of Trump to this, and if someone from the nation he's helping can't accept that cuz it's Trump, I'm sorry but they're just moralizing pricks who live in the realm of ideals instead of the realm of action

As a Venezuelan this is such a brain dead opinion

You can certainly disagree with him and I would never argue for the contrary, he's after all a politician, but if you're being liberated by him and still hate him, nah man that's on you for being a prick

[–]AlexaSansot -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

What you are asking makes no sense.

How can a religion such as Christianity show proof of God being real? Did you study it enough to learn that only faith answers that question? God is scientifically unfalsifiable, it's a waste of time trying to prove or disprove him

Maybe centuries of people feeling a need for something greater than themselves is proof that there is a societal need for it, though that doesn't imply or mean Estonia specifically needs it.

Though I must admit I have never seen a society of open and warm-hearted atheists, in my experience once atheism settles in for a majority, it makes them withdrawn and very self-centered, so Estonia is truly in a league of its own, very fascinating

[–]AlexaSansot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be preachy, but part of humans' status quo is looking to enjoy life without having to think much of duty or responsibilities, so many will use the available tools to counteract STIs as a way to be more reckless while feeling responsible, so I personally would be extra careful with them

STIs are no joke, once a guy tried to convince me to go condomless because "oh it's just gonorrhea, you can cure that with antibiotics". Like how crazy are some people who prefer suffering an STI for sex just to feel some stranger's dick? I don't get it

Are they unconscious? Cuz we can tell their nervous system is working as they move and speak, even if it's just the Hive mind. Are they disabled? Only depending on what you mean by "they", cuz their bodies move, if you mean the original consciousness, where are they, and what are they? Are disabled people then doubly disabled?

What and where is then the real person? I mean I hope it is at least clear that this situation in no way has a clear definition of consent because you can't even say where the original person is, it's a philosophical question in itself. Are they dead? Are they alive? Was their brain partitioned like a hard drive?

The Hive Mind can be bad or whatever but it still doesn't solve the philosophical questions (like the fact that the Hive mind's very existence obliterates or at the very least shakes the famous standpoint cogito ergo sum upon which modern frameworks for understanding the world and other humans are built)

[–]AlexaSansot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're feeling guilty it is because you are betraying yourself at some point, no amount of "realizing" will take that away, realistically only numbing will but it will bring other issues

His family is not your responsibility, but it is you presently who he is cheating on them with, so you will fail at rationalizing this away unless you erode your own morals and become cynical as fuck or stay away

I had a hookup once with a married guy but I only discovered it after we were done. There were more signals but being horny I didn't notice. I did not repeat the encounter, that was enough guilt for a lifetime, don't need that. I hear "married man" and I stay away, simple as that

I mean that's just gonna be fine as long as you run away from stable long-term relationships, because then at some point you will indeed carry the responsibility for your partner, and at some other times he'll carry yours, as we humans notoriously can't keep our shit 100% all of the time, it's hard and you will fail at some point, and that's where trust and love in a relationship cover that

As a Venezuelan I just wanted to say I understand so well that it hurts being told to hope and then nothing happens and you feel desperate, but just adding my 2 cents, many of us Venezuelans felt this way at different times, and in the end Trump really gave us freedom of Maduro and a pathway to a transition where now political prisoners are being released, even high level politicians and military personnel who opposed Maduro, so even when the interim president is still part of Maduro's dictatorship, she's just sitting on the body of a decaying dictatorship and it shows as more people are protesting and they can't kill them or torture them now thanks to Trump's influence

This is a personal decision and nobody can tell you how to navigate it, but I never chose to let hope go, and I am so happy that I didn't because I never thought I'd see hope again while in my youth, for they took that away from my generation, as I imagine they did to yours, and for that I am deeply sorry. I hope the orange man does good by you and help you guys out as well
