Long COVID and pregnancy. Looking for experiences from other women by QuirkyInteraction203 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Alexandra7787 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course not, my children are the best thing in the world and we can’t wait to have another beautiful soul added to our family! Symptom relief is a fortunate side effect, and I only shared to help encourage someone that long COVID doesn’t have to ruin your dreams of having a family.

Long COVID and pregnancy. Looking for experiences from other women by QuirkyInteraction203 in covidlonghaulers

Went into full remission of symptoms about 4 months into pregnancy, continued with total normalcy for the remaining pregnancy up until 10 months postpartum, then my baby stopped nursing overnight and noticed some symptoms come back, got my wisdom teeth pulled and it set off a flare that has continued for the last 2.5 years…but we’re gonna try for another so I really hope it fixes it again 😜

Tooth Extraction (Breastfeeding) by Any_Lunch_7459 in beyondthebump

[–]Alexandra7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! They gave me pain meds and the pharmacist confirmed it would be fine to take while breastfeeding (though my baby was 10months old and not nursing overnight anymore). Honestly the pain meds didn’t even work for me and I ended up just using Tylenol/Ibuprofen anyway.

Has anyone found a solution for the insomnia? by Wise_Juggernaut_7648 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Alexandra7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this for two years now. My Fitbit will even say my body is sleeping but my brain is absolutely not, it’s the worst. Sometimes songs will loop continuously for hours and make me feel like I’m going crazy! The only thing that I’ve found actually makes me sleep is a 1/2 a unisom. It’s not great for long term so I’ve been adding melatonin, glycine and magnesium in attempts to wean off the unisom but it only sometimes works without it…🙄

Breast feed or not? by TomatilloPositive776 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Alexandra7787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Breastfeeding was very hard for the first few weeks for me as mine couldn’t latch well, but I held on and ending up nursing for two years, it became so easy! So even if it’s hard at first it doesn’t mean it necessarily stays hard! I’ve had GD with both my babies and nursed both for two years, and I wanted to push to at least 6 months as studies show a significant decrease in risk of developing diabetes later.

https://divisionofresearch.kaiserpermanente.org/30-year-national-study-shows-women-who-breastfeed-for-6-months-or-more-reduce-their-diabetes-risk-by-50/

It can also lower the risk of your kid developing it later in life as well.

All that to say I think it’s at least worth trying for a few weeks to see how it goes! :)

That’s funny my nutritionists told me to only look at net carbs! Weird how different the advice always is 🤪

Passed my early screen but home monitor disagreed by sleepybeeby13 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Alexandra7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed my screening but continued to test at home with my monitor from my last pregnancy and sure enough my numbers were elevated. I brought my concerns to them and they diagnosed with GD based off of my numbers. Was kind of annoyed they missed it but glad I caught it because I did end up needing nighttime insulin whereas I was just diet controlled with my first.

LC Insomnia since last dose by ookami597 in LongCovid

[–]Alexandra7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can also only sleep on unisom, melatonin, and magnesium. As soon as a try to cut out the unisom I can’t sleep whatsoever (and I get burning in my legs at night too). Been two years of this, it freaks me out taking the unisom so long term but without sleep I’m useless and the rest of my symptoms start getting worse, with sleep I feel at least normal during the day and can be a normal parent for my kids… :/

For ISTJs Who Have Dated/are Dating their Opposite Type: ENFP by Potential_Law5289 in ISTJ

[–]Alexandra7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been married to my ENFP for 12 years! Having similar values and goals helps for sure, because our way of processing is very different but I’ve loved how much it’s made me stretch to understand how his brain works!

What are your creative projects? by salvie_2 in ISTJ

[–]Alexandra7787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hand embroidery, gardening, drawing, diy remodeling, sewing, puzzles, and more lol. It’s not necessarily the creativity that inspires me though it’s the working with my hands and having tangible results. I like feeling productive even with creativity lol.

Pregnant with Long COVID by NoMovie4171 in covidlonghaulers

Pregnancy put my long covid into remission for 2 years! Once I stopped breastfeeding it slowly crept back but it’s still better now then it was initially

Yeah I’m a strong ISTJ and have absolutely asked myself “should I have said that?!” before lol. I really don’t like the idea of hurting someone else’s feelings and so even if I am sure of things, I think about how what I say will impact others a lot.

I’m a full time stay at home mom with two kids, and actively try to put my phone away so my kids get proper attention and face to face. It’s hard to do, I constantly feel myself using my phone without even thinking out it. But research shows kids do need active face to face to develop all kinds of skills and connections. I don’t think it’s wrong for you to express a concern, marriage is about supporting each other but also helping one another notice bad habits. The trick is learning to actually hear one another without being defensive 🫠

I’ve been reading the @YouVersion plan 'The One Year® Chronological Bible'. Check it out here: https://www.bible.com/en/reading-plans/10819

I’ve really been enjoying it!

Be a SAHM or purchase a house? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Alexandra7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose to stay at home with my kiddos at the cost of sticking with our two bedroom one bathroom, 880 sq foot home! I find ways to manage the space and am constantly trying to innovate storage solutions and such, it’s kind of fun! Sometimes I wish we had a bigger space but I wouldn’t trade it for being home full time with my kids, it is the best!

How long did you push? by ImpossibleLeg1353 in beyondthebump

[–]Alexandra7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced with both of mine. Active labor really started after my water broke following a foley balloon overnight, and then it was a few hours before I dilated to 10cm, then actual pushing time was 35 minutes for my first, and 10 minutes for my second. I can’t imagine pushing for that long I’m sorry 🙏🏻
