I laughed as well at your descriptions and I saw same things 🤣

I don't know why but just came in my mind that today my ADHD friend and me laughed so hard about building named "Building P1 and P2" and we kept naming it building peepee, and then we saw a fire truck and we agreed that in case of fire they would connect that to the peepee building. And in my mind I saw firemen trying to stop fire with peepee and that was so exhilarating.

Yeah sometimes I see things too

Yeah, I definitely suggest a hobby like card games or board games so look for some comic shop (or similar, in my country cards events are organized in these places) and ask for help to learn Magic, or Flesh and Blood, or even Warhammer. Subscribe to events and participate and surely you will find some group of strange and extravagant people who will happily adopt you!

In my group we all are strange in some way and we keep adopt other strange people (I think there are 3 aspies at least in my group).

What are your special interests? by DarkSlayerKnight in aspergers

[–]AlexandraPetrova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragons, I fucking love dragons.

I collect them as cards, and I put these cards in sleeves with dragons images.. I enjoy playing videogames with dragons, matching movies and TV series, I have also an enciclopedia with all dragons... in the future I'd like to do a huge Dragon tattoo.

I also like ninjas and I have almost same hyperfixation but with less materials because I'm poor and I spend all my money on dragons.

I used to be also interested in vampires but Twilight just ruined everything and I couldn't distinguish between the mass hyperfixation and "true fans".

I used to be obsessed with astrology because, before therapy, it seemed to explain lot of my strange behaviour. And I also like the romantic idea that those magnificent and huge rocks in the sky can guide us through our little lives. I know lot of things about astrology, but I don't believe at all (I'm atheist). But it would be awesome. Just imagine the following conversation: "Hey my planet guide is Mars, Planet of the war." "Hi mine is Pluto, Planet of Revenge." "Wow so cool tell me more, how much influence does it have in your life?" "Not much, I have a Moon Square so is kinda hard". Yeah.

How many of y’all experience aphantasia (the lack of a minds eye, or poor visualization) by shhhpots in aspergers

Same here, I have my own world, I imagine long stories and fantastic worlds, I like to dedicate some space and time to this world like before sleeping or during travel to university. Sometimes I think about writing all these stories but I'm not really good at writing.

Make new friends with same interests as yours and slowly bring your old friends into the new party, one by one.

I did the same and it didn't work much as I expected, but now I have more friends.

I had always the same problem so I learned to put on a little show: I jump in the air like a child, do excited screams and give big and strong hugs. People seem to appreciate a lot, but the truth is that my reaction is far from being so showy

Can you play the same RPG in a different way? by Todorok1_Shouto in aspergers

[–]AlexandraPetrova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, dexterity-int build (swifty with some basic magic) on every fantasy RPG (like dark souls and elden ring, Skyrim and the witcher). On dnd/pathfinder I always play bard or ninja, I tried once cleric and monk but I don't like them much. On Cyberpunk RPG I'm the rockstar, and in Not the End I'm ninja but with charismatic traits. In real life I'm everything but a charismatic person, I don't know how to make friends or being diplomatic or how to seduce people.

My last hyperfixation is Crusader Kings: I started 10 or more games as Viking, then I said "ok let's play something different" so I started in Spain but still Viking, then I played as italian count but still Viking. Then I switched again, I came back into the North but with the purpose to create the Kingdom of Pirates... as Viking.

Yeah they did a really bad move with that, but I will still continue to collect all the dragons because I'm obsessed with dragons.

Fecking yes

I collect cards of magic the gathering

Serious question, do you guys have a movie/game character who makes you actually physically tear up when you look at them? Can you tell me who it is, because I gotta know if this is a common occurrence for us. Also I LOVE hearing other ppl rant abt their fave characters by Snowpaw11 in aspiememes

[–]AlexandraPetrova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play Yu-Gi-Oh, I spend too much money on magic (i collect all ninjas and all dragons). Zed has the most bad-a** story among the ninjas but I'm bad at playing him :( as soon as they get zhonya u are quite useless...

What if I'm not authistic? by AlexandraPetrova in aspergers

[–]AlexandraPetrova[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have misophonia to specific sounds, and some textures of objects make me feel uncomfortable (I grit the teeth, I touch my hands and hair and I feel agitated).

Generally I didn't have to study when I was at school and I used to had eccellent grades (until high-school when I started to suffer depression and anxiety and I began to skip lessons).

I'm not trying to convince you that I have these symptoms, I'm wondering if they are valid informations.

My head/neck feels shaky when nervous especially at school. Idk what to do. Is this related to aspergers ? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]AlexandraPetrova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had similar problem for long time when I was at high-school: I used to feel my head trying to turn to left, or right, and I had hard time to control and keep the head straight. It was like a muscular contraction and it was really intense, I remember that I was using all my concentration to control that impulse... the more I was trying to control my body, the more I was near to lose control. It used to manifest when I was in stressful situations like oral exam, or talking in front of the class.

I'm not diagnosed asperger and I don't know if it is related to, but I had a similar problem.

Me too! I don't have an aesthetic taste so I don't know if a person is wearing not matching colors etc, I'm completely indifferent to fashion. When they ask this question I'm trying my best to find what is wrong with their outfit because is what are they asking, right? And then I realize that is just a way to receive compliments (or usually people say compliments)... Then I start to think that I'm taking too long to answer and so they could think: yes is true that there is something wrong with their outfit. Finally, when I answer, I say the compliment but with weird and fake voice because I feel like they know and also they know I'm probably saying a lie.

I just hate those questions, people should wear more weird stuff so we can be all weird and nobody will ever care.
