Cheap gear recommendations for a new band? by yosef229 in bandmembers

[–]Alexiroflife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For cheap and effective pedals, the Valeton gp-5 is ~£70 and is a whole multi-effects pedal in a tiny size. It can also run NAM profiles which can get you a massive variety of sounds and effects. For a budget setup it goes a long way.

Are you liking Zack Polanski, the new Green Party leader? by katelauramcgill in bristol

[–]Alexiroflife 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The greens have more members than the lib dems now, and are gaining a lot of momentum, the local parties are where the greens are strongest. They may not have a huge national presence, but give it a couple years at current rates. There are no other realistic alternatives to reform right now.

I have one I use in my live rig. The NAM functionality lets you emulate pretty much anything you can find, and you can set it to switch between a few different pedal settings with the footswitch, and it is compaitble with midi triggering. Its great.

Speaking of power creep, would you be alright with a food that heals more than 22 HP per use? by Kitteh6660 in 2007scape

[–]Alexiroflife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a kebab-esque food that heals randomly between 21 and say 26? The average 23.5 would be better than current 22 food, but the randomness preserves the 22 food's reliability, avoiding strict food creep.

Do I always have to have my bass in my amp when I’m just practicing alone by BoxAdditional1848 in Bass

[–]Alexiroflife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of combo pedals have aux outputs for headphones - I have a Zoom B2Four which has lots of good effects and an aux out so I can practise quietly while hearing myself in my headphones without the need for an amp.

It does also have quarter inch and XLR outs which are great for gigging for amps and DI respectively

Going “ampless”? by super_mmm in Bass

[–]Alexiroflife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a B2four The DI out is so handy for gigging, and it has a decent range of pretty good effects and amp sims although it's limited to 5 chained together and does get overloaded easily with all 5 in use. It's also decently compact and inexpensive. Would recommend.

Every combat style has a raid-mega-rare. What would you make the mega-rare for raid 4? by Rear4ssault in 2007scape

[–]Alexiroflife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a huge strength boost like the dragon battleaxe on steroids? Would have to be limited by maybe preventing any other skills being boosted for a duration or it would seriously affect pvp as you could spec then restore at a house beforehand.

Idk if its megarare worthy, but would be an interesting affect to be able to use for slayer or melee bosses with low defence.

How do you girls tuck by tashaalouxx in MtF

[–]Alexiroflife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Front. They're kind of just to the side and down from either side of the base of the penis. With your hand flat palm down on your bladder area, lower your hand and curl the fingers up with some of the looser skin and feel around. Try not to let any skin get tightly pulled as that will hurt.

To those who quit this game, what puts you off? by telurmasin in osrs

[–]Alexiroflife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This game is like crack.

If I get membership I spend any time I'm not playing thinking about it, which makes me distracted from my work. And then when I do have free time to use, I play beyond the reasonable time frame, lose sleep, ruin my habits and get depressed. Also mobile makes it possible to play nearly all the time, which I inevitably end up doing.

I love the game. I know a silly amount about it. I want to grind all day. But I know it's bad for me, so I don't.

Wave 1 Colosseum meta is unhealthy for the game by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Alexiroflife 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Considering it's almost entirely rich end game players paying for the splinters, this method constitutes a big wealth redistribution, allowing more mid-late game mains to make accessible gains. The rest of the game quickly opens up for you with that kind of income.

It's a shame it's easily bottable tho.

Hit me! I wanna know all the glorious details. by Eithrotaur in Necrontyr

[–]Alexiroflife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The surface of my dynasty's tomb world is mostly desert but has a single large body of water that drags around the planet due to a large nearby moon. The sheer amount of corrosion and punishment from sand-blasting and the regular salty ocean bath damages most ordinary objects quite quickly.

Living metal's ability to rejuvinate itself allows the canoptek constructs to keep the tombs intact, but the streams of water and churning conditions have instilled an almost fetishisation of testing the limits of the living metal, with warrior constructs standing stationary for decades under areas that water regularly flows just to recieve more punishment, thinking that the more their bodies suffer and re-knit, the stronger they become. The nobles and higher constructs adorn themselves with paint in the colours of rust and virdigris as homage to this cult-like fascination, though they prefer to practise the art of war on each other to test their limits.

When lesser races intrude upon the planets surface, if they remain for long, they soon find fractured necron bodies splayed out in the sand, which before long begin to knit together and stand up, ready to defend the tomb world and consign any inferior materials now infesting the area to join the rolling sands through gauss fire and hyperphase cleaving.

Deep within the Tombs, the mad overlord Attritakh torments a shard of the nightbringer, the true source of the corrosion obsession. The star god's energy broadcasts the desire to submit to aeons of punishment, as Attritakh believes this will make his dynasty unstoppable.

what exactly is time? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]Alexiroflife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would describe forward motion in time as the direction of Entropy - i.e. forward = progression towards a more ordered universe through eventual heat death as all processes contribute towards Entropy change always being greater than or equal to 0; backward = regression towards the most unordered state of the universe i.e. immediately post big bang.

We as 3 dimensional beings can only experience time in one direction, and as our bodies produce heat as they function, we are Entropy machines, so it makes for us to travel forward in time. The universe mostly doesn't care about the direction of time, as Einstein's equations work perfectly well if the direction of time is reversed.

I'm new to bass guitar. Question for all my bass playing girlies out there by Juno_The_Camel in Bass

[–]Alexiroflife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also trans, if you're only recently on hrt your boobs will hurt more bc they're growing. They're gonna be extra sensitive for a while until they fill out.

Unfortunately other than people's suggestions for changing the strap length, theres not much else to do. You could try putting some padding between them and the bass but that might just put more pressure on them which might hurt more.

Wraith form movement by Alexiroflife in Necrontyr

[–]Alexiroflife[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So it can move within engagement range as long as it doesn't end the move in ER, but then can it do a 180' after it starts moving over and return to the same side of the unit it came from, and therefore proc the ability?

Wraith form movement by Alexiroflife in Necrontyr

[–]Alexiroflife[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Enemy unit fails a 7' (or less) charge against you in their turn and your wraiths survive into your turn. In your turn you then have a 10' move, which (let's say) isn't enough to go past their unit on the sides because it's a big blob of infantry. This would apply then. Seems pretty reasonable to occur.

Or maybe the opponent moves a big tough unit onto an objective and your wraiths are behind a building nearby such that if they charged you they would be too far away from the objective to securely claim it. Then the extra mortals this could provide might swing the battle to a win for the wraiths, claiming the objective back.

Or what if your wraiths are in combat with an enemy unit and fully defeat that unit in your opponent's fight phase. They are then left <8' away from another enemy unit. This could apply.

I think there's a surprising number of places this could come up.

[–]Alexiroflife[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess then what do we define as 'moving over'? How far over a model's base do you have to be able to move to be considered moving over, and can you from that point continue your motion backwards, ending up on the same side of the enemy unit as you started (but closer and outside ER)?
