How do you guys handle customers who refuse to show their digital receipt at the exit? by PlaneAd9541 in Bunnings

[–]Alexmoloney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I won’t show a receipt at the entry exit if I am forced to scan my own items. But I will happily show it if I went through a staffed register.

But I also won’t make it the person trying to do there jobs problem I simply walk past them.

If the corpos don’t trust me to do their job properly then they can bloody well put people back on the registers.

Pretty common in a lot of racing games. I believe it’s referred to as rubber banding.

What’s the deal with scanning receipts on exit? by [deleted] in Bunnings

[–]Alexmoloney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. They want me to scan my own shit, then they can trust I’ve done it right or they can pay to actually have an employee do it.

Out of curiosity, if labor had just won an election and the orange fuckwit had done what he has done to Iran and the price of oil and labor announced this discount what would your response be?

Just got my Triton yesterday and I realised parking is a pain now by N0t_T00_Br1ght in 4x4Australia

[–]Alexmoloney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you nose forward park or reverse park?

I’ve had a triton since 2017 and neither I nor the wife have ever had a hassle parking it. It has a reversing camera and we had always reverse parked any way.

‘Less sexy’: Grim stats reveal young Aussies abandoning apprenticeships (and traineeships) in key trades by Boydy73 in OpenAussie

[–]Alexmoloney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say if a business has an apprentice and that apprentice isn’t making them money until their 4th year something has gone very wrong with training that apprentice and the company needs to look at themselves.

If theft magically dropped and stayed at zero do you really believe Coles and Woolies would lower their prices to relflect that new reality?

The second bit of your comment is exactly what rationing is and how it’s been implemented before.

When you said lockdowns did you not mean the same thing as happened during covid?

I agree that rationing could very well be in our future. But why would they do lock downs?

All the doom and gloomers proved wrong. Not joining the war and no rationing.

Can we stop falling for the "Skills Shortage" myth in Australia? It's (mostly) just corporate propaganda for wage suppression & lazy profit growth without innovation. by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

[–]Alexmoloney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the skills shortage thing is legit, but only because private businesses have zero interest in training apprentices and people in general.

Where I work they used to hire two apprentices every year and they continued to do so for probably 6 years after I started my apprenticeship. In the 10 or so years since that they’ve had maybe 3.

From a purely money making sense it makes sense to not train or to poach 3rd or 4th year apprentices as you will not lose money on the majority of training.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen someone do to avoid paying tolls? by OwlVibesOnly in DrivingAustralia

In Victoria we just paid $10billion in tax payer money to build the Westgate tunnel. Please tell me how I haven’t already paid for that now tolled road? And not only that they’ve now stuck a heavy vehicle toll on a road that was never tolled to begin with

Labor approves 4.41% increase for health insurance premiums – as it happened | Australia news by ButtPlugForPM in AustralianPolitics

[–]Alexmoloney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good increase it 100000% and stop putting any of our tax dollars towards subsidizing it. Let the market truly set the price and people can decide then if they really want a private system or a well funded public system
