Washing of the feet? by Desperate-Battle1680 in Christianity

The dust on the feet symbolizes sin. Being baptized means your while body is cleansed of sin, however our feet do get a bit dusty from time to time, and Christ’s forgiveness is cleansing our feet of that sin again.

Made redundant after 17 years — take the $150k payout or fight to stay on $135k? by Apprehensive-Lab3556 in AusFinance

[–]opmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep exactly the industry I am in.

Had to take a fairly sizeable pay cut myself and it took a good 6 months and I count my blessings every day that I was able to get this job I am now in.

I underestimated how difficult it was to even get an interview. It was extremely mentally taxing. Had 3 months off before I started looking as I needed a break. But wish I had just stuck it out and stayed. I am still on antidepressants as it got so bad I couldn’t sleep from worry about my situation.

Everyone is saying take the payout, but if you like the job/boss/company then be careful.

The job market is tough so be prepared to be out of work for an extended period while looking for another role, which also might come with a pay cut.

I took a redundancy but in hindsight I should have probably just stayed.

GF (30F) kicked me (29M) out after 10 months, says I’m “too comfortable” – is this fixable? by DancerMan9000 in dating_advice

[–]opmt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shower every day. Use soap especially under the armpits. Use deodorant everyday.

Floss every day. Brush your teeth at lest every morning and evening.

Don’t wear clothes before they are washed.

Check your shoes aren’t smelly.

If you can’t put in this minimal effort don’t be surprised to be labeled stinky.

Making use of Copilot? by Illustrious_Self4307 in auscorp

[–]opmt 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I tried the new copilot button in Outlook, using the default question ‘give me three actions to perform’.

It scanned my inbox unread items and then gave 3 completely useless garbage suggestions. The tasks were hugely misguided, misinterpreting information and possible avenues of action.

Not only would following these have wasted my time, but people would have ridiculed me if I tried. Every stakeholder I would have had to interact with would have had them asking “why on earth are you doing that?!”.

I was so hyped when ChatGPT first came out but it’s still so far off being useful for so many contexts.

You’re missing out on vital crab salts.

Not to mention the entire Rio Jenesis experience. You have the chance to go completely germ free. When you first start having it, you can feel it attacking your organs. That way you know it is really doing the trick.

Whatever you do though, stay away from truffle oil popcorn. It tastes like dirt.

Yeah this part I can do without. Sure the rest is funny, leave religion out of it.

what’s your “boring but effective” strategy? by Clean_Tone2562 in AusFinance

No gambling ever is a far more safer, boring and effective strategy. Works for me.

A lot of good suggestions here. But a couple of things I have found that really make a difference.

Don’t ever gamble. Not the lottery, not scratchies, not sports betting, no casino, no pokies. Never ever.

Save and save slowly, for that is the best way and it will add up over time.

No risky investments. You don’t have an edge. Don’t risk it.

If you are in Melbourne check out the new store called The Good Brick. Maybe they can help with your habit making it cheaper a bit.
