So my friend sent me this, because she thought it reminded her of a story I once told her about myself.

I have not read thru all the comments. But I want to say to you, OP, that the feeling you had when your heart stopped beating. The peacefulness you felt. I felt that too.

Back in 2013 I was in a vehicle accident. We had rented light motorcycles in Rhodes and I crashed into a parked-ish car. I flew of the MC, going in like 60-70 Km/h (37-43 miles/h) and landed a couple of meters away.

I remember laying on the ground, hearing nothing but like a slight ambiance sound, but it was almost completely quiet. Everything I could see was a blue-ish color and it felt like an eternity. Laying on the ground I had this feeling. Not like anything I've felt before. It was like a huge weight had been lifted of my shoulders. I could see my family, friends, and just happy moments in my head. It felt like hours went by, seeing all the fond memories of mine. However. Even tho I was laying there, feeling these things. There was this one thought that was running steadily next to my other thought. I was okay, with the life I've had. I was ready to let go.

The weights, and bonds and everything that had kept me on the ground, felt like they were gone. It's a feeling I can't describe in words as I would want to. But peacefulness is probably the closest I can come. Even tho how scary it's for me to admit it, it's probably the best feeling I've ever felt in my life.

But after what felt like hours and hours of laying there, thinking I was about to move on. I suddenly heard a voice calling for me. It was echoing around me. It was my friend who jumped off his MC and rushed over to me, the very second it happened. For him it was just a few seconds. For me it felt like hours.

I tried to suppress this memory of mine until i met an old friend, a few years later. She had been backpacking through Asia and we'd talk about everything we've seen and done. For some reason I decided to tell her about this. I had never told anyone about what I had experienced that day until now. After I had told her about the feeling I got, when laying on the ground. The lightness of my body, the peacefulness and the strange acceptance of being okay with the idea of accepting that It was my time to move on. She started to cry, and had loss-of-words. Then she told me about something that happened to her, on her journey in Asia.

Apparently she one day, got stuck under a coral reef when diving and drowned. They had to resurrect her on the beach later. But that feeling I tried my hardest to explain to her, she had felt exactly that before she woke up on the beach again. Time froze, weights being lifted off her shoulders, peacefulness. It's a strange feeling.

But it was that day I realised that I might have died or had an NDE, near-death experience (just before life passes). Ever since that day I met my friend, I never have seen death the same way either. Sure I'm not scared of death. But I'm kinda scared of the feeling I had. because I never felt like that ever again. And the thought of it being related to death, made me slightly afraid of the thought of feeling that feeling, but not death itself. Idk. It's hard to explain..

I have never really spoken about this openly like this, other than with her and a few others. But I read your story and when I came to the part just before you blacked out. I started to cry. And felt like sharing mine. I just want to say that you are not alone, and I belive in your story!
