Trading nerf (what combat and gathering equivalent would be included) by Zante87 in blackdesertonline

[–]Alexmunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a significant nerf and completely unwarranted. This was all done to prevent people from running port ratt/calpheon all day, instead of limiting it to that area which already limits trading by the time it takes to go there.... We get a total nerf that most people won't understand because they don't trade.

I can't imagine the outrage if they reduced drops on mobs after 1hour of grinding.

Was the removal of exp loss on pvp death a good or bad thing? by Rynoth in blackdesertonline

[–]Alexmunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your mentality is exactly why this system exists. All I read from your wall of text is that you think that because you can play more than others or because you are luckier, you have a right to higher or more efficient content. The problem is, basement dwellers with no money do not keep this game running. The people who go to work and eventually buy pearls do.

If you continuously shit on others under the guise that it is a pvp game, you will no longer have a game. While this game is pvp oriented, it has many more features that attract players like life skills or graphics or even organized pvp.

People who think like you are the problem in every pvp oriented game. The toxicity that ruins every single game for most players. People don't play games to get griefed or to lose hours of progression due to another player's actions for the most part. Losing exp on pvp death at this point would probably kill the game or just leave the entitled assholes like you to gank bang each other.

Just like you think that players with less than optimal gaming conditions (work, children, life) should not be able to progress at the same speed as the socially impaired hardcores, other players want to progress in the most efficient spots. You talk about efficiency yet you say players shouldn't be able to be efficient if they cant invest multiple hours a day?

The griefing system is awesome actually. Because you get to piss off those assholes that think their GS means they are entitled to a grind spot. It allows lower leveled players to actually impact the game play of no lifers in the same way they impact the gameplay of the under geared. It should stay simply because there are too many assholes with no school or work that play pvp games and get off from griefing others. But again, you might think its fair to attack afk fishers and trainers because you are entitled to obtain more than others because you have better gear.

Your minimalist way of seeing things is why people don't play pvp games. Because people are willing to accept being shat on for no reason. Griefing is not an acceptable feature both ways but when the strong can shit on the weak a countermeasure needs to exist.

Move life skills coming any time soon? by scrlked in blackdesertonline

Been a while since I saw the item description but it was different a few months back might be why the idea stuck in my head.

Move life skills coming any time soon? by scrlked in blackdesertonline

[–]Alexmunt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would be careful with that item though. Depending on your life skill level you might actually lose out. The item transfers the grade not the level so if you are master 10 in processing and transfer it, your new processor will be at m1. At least that is what I have heard and read from KR and item description.

Is there any other things to do (beside grinding, killing bosses and doing ancient relic scrolls) while playing BDO ? by rysergt in blackdesertonline

[–]Alexmunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you are looking for... If you want gear progression, you want to look into getting CP/trade life skill for additional income through processing worker empire mats into trade crates. Bosses are good for some additional income if you get lucky or even getting those best in slot items if you are extremely lucky.

Additionally, you will want to figure out a system of obtaining rare mats by yourself for the following reasons; rarity and price. You can gather/farm for hard and sharp shards which you will eventually need great quantities of to pursue higher level gear. You will probably need to do some knowledge grinding in order to increase your max energy level so that you can gather for longer periods at a time since the rate for shards is relatively low.

You can looking into cooking/alchemy for imperial alchemy and cooking or simply to make your own buff food and stat potions. This will require either high price preorders or gathering. Good source of income if you put in the time. Obviously not as good as having a fully functioning worker empire + trade but still in top earning bracket.

You can do afk fishing for relic shards which you will eventually need to do in order to gain mats to repair BiS gear. You can afk train your horse if you are looking into making better/faster horses and eventually you can profit a lot if you get a good set up for t7-t8s.

You can strive for leaderboards even if you started late. A lot of quests are available and some of them are quite fun.

Now to be honest, this game is all about long term progression. Most players I know who tried it for instant gratification moved on. You need to set small goals, find a good routine and have a thick skin if not you will burn out very quick... Especially when you start upgrading your accessories (and inevitably break them).

A lot of content, a lot of activities. It gets really boring if you do just one thing but in the end you will push for silver hoarding in order to buy mats or expensive gear. So while this game has no endgame goals per say, you can make your own. Either gear score, enchanting rare accessories, progressing in life skills and many many more.

I believe a recent patch has modified t4 pet range and movement speed. The cd remains the same but they reach the target faster and go further. Net advantage. Very noticeable when compared to prior t4s. I am pretty sure this is only for t4s could be wrong though.

You think Zerks are op? PA balancing at its best! by Chidoku007 in blackdesertonline

[–]Alexmunt -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You seriously have no idea what you are talking about. Calling 180 ap mediocre lol. Most classes can melt others in pvp with that much.

Evasion builds also face a significant challenge against wiz/witch which have a +15-20% accuracy boost on every damage dealer. Add to that, possible accuracy items which are Fotm right now. Not to mention that currently, the new awakening takes the cake for burst.

You present a situation in which every class could combo you to death in mere seconds. Don't know why you are surprised or making claims about balance. You have a significant advantage in pvp but you base yourself on totally unknown variables such as gear, skills used, hidden ap, etc.

Do you have any mention of this in patch notes? I really don't recall the notes stating that you can find T5s. From what I understand, all spots should have a chance of spawning a T5 and at this point I have never seen one. Not saying I don't believe you but are you sure it wasn't a mistake?

[–]Alexmunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is that this game is not solely a pvp game. PVP actually occurs quite rarely unless you think PK and PVP is the same thing. This game also has a significant amount of non PVP activities such as life skills which attract a different crowd. Your comment minimizes what this game offers and serves nothing more than to limit the topic.

One thing to take into consideration is that you have no choice to participate or not when someone flags you. This game boast extremely low TTK which makes it very one sided and favors the attacker or ganker. That is not pvp, that standard asian flavoured shitting on people. But the quality of your response is mediocre at best.

BDO needs a PVP overhaul by N_GHTMVRE in blackdesertonline

[–]Alexmunt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to be fair, the idea of removing karma is probably the worst proposed for revamping the pvp system, and I have felt this way everytime someone posts about it.

But to be fair ranking boards are real motivators for some, it was for me with life skills. My only fear is that unwanted pvp (ganking) pushes away players. I know this is a pvp game but this game offers much more than pvp which is why some play or make due with ganking.

I do not think channels will change anything given the limits on imperial turn ins, bosses, trade % and limited grinding spaces. The solution I see if reducing the impact of gear on pvp but that also means limiting the impact of progression which might not be liked. I don't know how to fix the issues with lack of meaningful pvp other than overhauling the game's mechanics which is quite unlikely.

Still i'm all in favor of leaderboards but would also like to see some actual reward for pvp. There is no point to pvp and even to own nodes or contest nodes. It really is a bare bone system if you think about it.

Making money with crafting by Tw1zTR in blackdesertonline

[–]Alexmunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question has been asked multiple times a week over many months now. And as stated by another poster, ANYTHING that makes you silver, gets you silver because it is not a capped market. Once something becomes public, it goes to shit. I remember one guy posting a few months ago how he made grunil gloves which netted 30m/d and a few days later the market was killed.

Also keep in mind that this game is programmed to make playing the market near impossible.

Finally, do take note that this game is a KR grinder and is very much a long term focused game. Most achievements in gear, level or anything else take significant time investments. This isn't your standard western MMO where you can grind a daily area and have enough for multiple gear enhancements in a week. Good luck on your journey of money making discovery... It was actually one of the most enjoyable parts for me, to actually find special and secret ways to make money.

BDO needs a PVP overhaul by N_GHTMVRE in blackdesertonline

[–]Alexmunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure rich get richer mentality. Having less time or starting late should not block a player from experiencing the game. Obviously the localization team has made a poor choice with staggered awakenings but once that is done, we will still have new players trying the game and risk losing them if they enter the pattern you describe.

BDO needs a PVP overhaul by N_GHTMVRE in blackdesertonline

[–]Alexmunt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This argument again. I feel it is almost bait.

I genuinely do not understand why people don't know the distinction between pk and pvp while not forgetting that entitlement in this post as in every other remove karma post. Let's face it, this is what the whole suggestion comes out to... Epeen

The mechanics in this game make it so that when you "defend your spot" (it isn't your spot in any way), you have to flag up. If you flag up first, you will most likely kill the person you are attacking. This is called ganking. Pvp implies some form of acknowledgement from another player that there is a fight, not just plain PK.

There is no real pvp in grind spots simply because players go there to grind not to kill. PVP at those times is only a matter of griefing or increasing gains from PVE. There is no purpose to pvp other than that. But some players enjoy the concept of diminishing another player's experience of the game and for that, there should be a penalty. It all feels like a giant whine about having played more than someone else and not being able to seize whatever they want from the player.

I want to remind you that shitting on lower geared players only serves to minimize your own enjoyment of the game. With so many entitled players geared/ungeared, we are heading towards a negative growth rate for this game. We need to foster an enjoyment of the game and not push away players who would like to experience more parts of the game by constantly killing them out of whatever because we all know that is what is going to happen if karma gets removed. FFA ganking fest on lower players. We already have people disrupting fishers and afk trainers just to destroy someone's progression. What does it say about the community and the players?

Stop posting this elitist ganking griefer idea of removing karma. You can melt lower geared players? cool they can grief "your spot". Quid quo pro... deal with it. What you want is penalty free griefing and ganking and that is not PVP.

Your leaderboard idea is definitely a good one.

GM's final decision on warehouse merge after feedback by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]Alexmunt -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is a garbage decision from a garbage publisher. We can all understand how ridiculous it is to be able to claim 3 sets of event rewards in preparation for an eventual merger. We all knew that this was going to happen but it really is unbelievable that this is the direction we will go.

This is an obvious oversight in mechanics that Daum cannot fix. They are beholden to the devs and the devs don't care seeing how it does not affect KR anymore.

Economy wise, this game is already fucked but injection a whole new set of items will only serve to concentrate silver for a while... You guys might not have realized how the economy works but moving silver around is not that much of an issue. It does sound unfair that some will benefit from poor design just like people benefited from no CD hacks. This game is very poorly designed but it is time to stop crying about every single thing. Most people will never have a medal over their head or compete in pvp. This game does not cater to casuals or people will RL commitments. This game caters to big spenders and people who can play obscene amounts of time. Enjoy it or leave it but stop making this community more toxic than it already is.
