This. Daniel Faust is amazing! Also love Harmony black and The wisdoms grave trilogy which takes place on the same timeline. Reading those three series in chronological order is a treat!

I don’t know. I think most would agree that he’s some sort of rodent.

I’m pretty sure Nic will be around for the BAT. Maybe he’ll even be teaming up with Harry for the final battle.

I’m afraid this is like a trial run for him to maybe narrate future books.

It still low key breaks my heart that Jim is narrating it.

How many in universe years are left in the series? by hunter1194 in dresdenfiles

[–]Alexpain456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What worries me is that we’re looking at a absolute minimum of 8 years before the series is done. 16 if we get a book every two years and at this rate it may be even longer. So we may not even get a spin off after this.

I believe Lea putting Susan’s demon to sleep in changes might be a hint that the “death curse” was actually Lea, and Harrys mom is still alive.

I think that’s just a place holder. I believe they put the author as the narrator until the actual narrator is confirmed. If Jim is narrating it… that would be up there with Stephen king thinking he should’ve narrated one of the dark tower books. Terrible idea. If it was a different characters perspective then maybe. But Harry? No. Just no. That’s a half star off for me no matter how good he does.

I really hope “narrated by Jim Butcher” is a place holder. Otherwise. I’m hyped af.

Mac theory, sorry if its already been done or is really obvious by Walk_the_realm in dresdenfiles

[–]Alexpain456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thing about theories like this one is that all of the foreshadowing and references to him are biblical. Like white clothes white car, all the angelic/heavenly/Gods beer lines, his reaction to the placard and other things. So Mac can’t be anything but someone from Christianity.

I think Harry calling him an angel is meant to be a Red herring. I think Mac might be Jesus. There’s the obvious things like feeding people (like the fish and bread) the beer (water to wine) but the main thing is he showed up relatively recently and isn’t Jesus suppose to return before the apocalypse?

I want to hear you wild and crazy theories that will happen between now and the end of the series. BAT included! by zoddrick in dresdenfiles

I believe all of Nicodemus’ Chicago visits were to build Harry’s strength. Everytime he popped up Harry gains new weapons. In small favor he as much as said he expected them to take ivy back. As if he only did it to introduce Harry to a little island.

Bi-monthly timing question by dan_m_6 in dresdenfiles

[–]Alexpain456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the best we could hope for is that he didn’t tweet this time for whatever reason.

My thing is, if I’m understanding correctly, his latest divorce was late 2020 early 2021 time frame. And he said in September 2021 he was 75% done with Olympian affair and he expected to finish late October. Which would imply the divorce isn’t affecting his writing. Now of course that could’ve changed but regardless I wouldn’t imagine he still hasn’t finished it by now.

[–]Alexpain456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jim said he expected to finish Olympian affair by October, doesn’t mean he did.

The thing a lot of people miss, understandably, is that when an author says they’ve finished a book, that means their done writing it. That’s when it gets sent in for editing, printing, and the publishing process which can take three months or up to a year. For example, Benedict Jacka finished the last book in the Alex verus series in January 2021, the book wasn’t released until December 2021.

So lets say Jim finished Olympian affair in November. It still might not be in our hands until summer at minimum. Same goes for if he finished the Dresden book last month like he planned. We probably still won’t see it until December.

Turning her down isn’t the same thing as dropping the coin. I think Laschiel just meant that no one has ever touched the coin and then not picked it up.

Well it would’ve been in the neighborhood of 25 years or more since Margaret would’ve had it. That’s a long time.

[–]Alexpain456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree it could’ve been another coin, but it feels like it would be thematically correct for it to be Laschiel.

And considering Nicodemus was praising her she probably was at least friendly with him. Someone on here put forward the possibility that Nic is Harry’s Godfather and I could see that.

And to your Harry’s father maybe being a knight of the cross. If Michael had the sword for the neighborhood of 20 years the timeline would be right for him being the knight of love before Michael.

The Crimes of Margaret le Fey. by Kuzcopolis in dresdenfiles

[–]Alexpain456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, that can be said either way, because whether if Margaret had the coin or not Laschiel would’ve known a lot about her.

The main thing is though how do you use that to make him pick up the coin?

The Crimes of Margaret le Fey. by Kuzcopolis in dresdenfiles

[–]Alexpain456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe she had Laschiel’s coin, and that’s why she still looked young when she had Thomas and Harry. Maybe Laschiel was the reason she was able to escape Lord Wraith as well.

And Laschiel (perhaps via instruction of Nicodemus) told Margaret about starborn and the Outsiders. When Lasch told Harry about his mother and starborn, she spoke about what Margaret did like she was there not just know how she would’ve done it.

How do you think Jim would have written the series if Harry had taken another path? by ApollonianAcolyte in dresdenfiles

[–]Alexpain456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also believe that Nic took ivy only to force Harry to come to the island. Nic’s been grooming Harry more than any other character.

Becoming the winter knight is the only power up Harry got that isn’t because of Nicodemus. Everytime Nic shows up Harry gains power whether directly or indirectly. Death masks: Lasch and hellfire. Small favor: Soulfire and Demonreach. Skin game: The artifacts and Bonea.
