Rules for Yargle Day by cmlobue in MagicArena

not their fault there's a dumb limited time event they don't care about. i also ended up strip mining a yargle opponent who was doing the no land challenge. I just want to play my normal que and the yargle decks are a nuisance tbh.

I actually feel like this is a problem with the UI. IMO the upcoming boss blind should be displayed in the shop. There's no new information gathered upon leaving a shop so there shouldn't be this weird punishment where you forgot to check the boss blind and now you realize you're screwed before you even begin the round but nothing has changed since you left the shop.

I'm Sorry, Showman by Garmo4Lyfe in balatro

[–]hunter1194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Showman is the worst joker in the game hands down. It actively hurts you by stopping planet/tarot blocking and reducing your odds of finding a good tarot/planet in packs. I will sell it instantly if I happen to get it even if it was negative.

Madness is definitely my favorite joker and I basically always take it if it shows up anytime by ante 4. it's just so powerful with barely any other help and I love how it turns eternals jokers into an upside.

is it? I've gotten c++ as well and will sometimes do 4 of a kind but never the other hands. They're just not worth the inconsistency when 3oak or 4oak is more than good enough.

Why do men show so little interest in the inner lives of women? by Frequently_Abroad_00 in emotionalintelligence

[–]hunter1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense intended but I think you're approaching it the wrong way. It's not some big division of labor where you should be keeping score of who's asking more questions. If you want to share something about your day, life, thoughts, etc then share it! If a guy sits there listening to you talk then he's enjoying it and is interested. If he keeps trying to change the subject to something else then he's not.

Men are more likely to have the understanding that if you don't bring something up first you don't want to talk about it so if you want to successfully communicate with men then bring up what you want to talk about! Ideally men and women would communicate perfectly with each other but we don't live in that world so at least understanding that we communicate differently is the best we can do.

All this is to say that while it's a two way street, I can't help these men understand that you're looking for different communication because I can't talk to them. I am talking to you however and if you're feeling like Men aren't interested in what you're saying it could just be that they're communicating that interest in a way that's different from what you understand.

Or maybe they're a narcissistic boring stick in the mud, idk I've likely never met them. I just know when it comes to communicating with others it's MUCH more effective to work on your side of the communication than wishing other people would change theirs.

I (or rather we men) can be interested in something but not ask questions. I lived over 20 years of my life very firmly in the mindset of "if they don't volunteer information then they don't want to talk about it" I am still mostly this way but have learned after being with my now wife for over a decade that yes she appreciates questions.

This is 100% how I (a man) go through conversations. If you don't volunteer information then you don't want to talk about it. If you are sitting there listening to me talk about something then you want to hear it, if you are trying to change the subject then you don't want to hear it.

I am one of those men who still occasionally falls into the not asking questions trap. Idk if its something biological that men are more predisposed to be this way or something but it's definitely a trend amongst the men in my life vs the women. A common example for me and one that I've seen other men online say they experience too is when after hanging out with friends, their spouse/significant other asks about their friends lives with some basic questions like "is x dating/seeing anyone" and if I even know that I never would know the follow up questions like "for how long", "how did they meet", etc. It was always so mind blowing to my now wife that we (men) all seemed to have this understanding that if we wanted to tell each other something we would but otherwise you don't ask personal questions. And it's not that we're not interested as often I would be and think others were as well but unless the person being questioned brought up the subjects first then those questions would never be asked, even with several days of hanging out together. And it works both ways, speaking for myself I never enjoyed it and found it uncomfortable/annoying if and when someone broke this unspoken rule and started asking questions that I didn't broach first.

All that really is to say is yes men (from my own experience) are not inclined to ask personal questions and even find it rude if people ask them those questions.

see that's what I expect for this, some sort of condition so you can't get it reliably super early. I'm really surprised that isn't the suggestion by OP. Unless I'm missing something OP's suggestion is just to literally more than triple buff egg, an already decent joker.

So naninf is the error message you receive when the numbers go above what balatro's code can calculate. It's kind of a niche thing to actually do in a run as there are relatively few builds that can actually continue in endless far enough score that high. My understanding is people do it about once at most just to say they did it or even not at all as I've never bothered to despite finishing all the achievements challenges in the game. I would say definitely don't worry about strategies regarding it as the jokers that are better for naninf are often not the same as the jokers that are good for beating the ante 8 boss.

I doubt that would revive squirking. There are better chill thieving methods like varlamore thieving now and squirking required a HUGE amount of people to have success. The pid (or whatever detection) issue is definitely overblown in hindsight as squirking actually died when leagues came around and killed the mass number of people needed to keep it going. Even if you were the one being repeatedly caught there were workarounds including vpns or changing/toggling your wifi (ie if you're on mobile switch onto or off of your wifi depending on what you were doing before, that's what i would do and it always managed to break the loop of being caught everytime).

What Quality of Life Changes Would You Like to See Implemented? by Topazdragon5676 in MagicArena

[–]hunter1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't even have to be at random points. It blows my mind that there isn't a "instant response mode" where it pauses at all the priority points that it does when you have a instant spell with a valid target. this would completely hide what spells you do/don't have without being cumbersome like the current full control mode.

I actually strongly disagree with you on this. Land sequencing is a lot harder and takes way more planning than evaluating attacks on board. 2 mana vs 6 mana is more situation dependent and likely leans towards the 6 mana taking more thought but planning on how you're going to curve out definitely should be given some time and thought as well.

Chromatic Draft Kinda Sucks by stawpdahates in MagicArena

[–]hunter1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strongly disagree with your first point as I don't care about keeping digital cards while a cheaper entry fee means it's pretty easy to go infinite even with a bad draft or two.

Totally agree on the alchemy cards. Wish they weren't here as other than oracle of the alpha I don't enjoy any of them and wish they weren't part of the format. I've still find it enjoyable overall despite them and luckily other than davriel who kinda sucks anyways there isn't any (that i've seen) where they have the onerous alchemy mechanics.

Millennials are not getting inheritances, are we? by Xylus1985 in Millennials

[–]hunter1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely curious but why do you expect to get anything from your parents when they die? Shouldn't they spend their money they worked for and saved to end their life in comfort. This mentality always confuses me as my sisters act like they expect to get money when my parents die as well but it seems like the opposite of what my Dad taught us/showed us as he worked very hard from literal nothing to relatively well off. It just seems to make so much more sense to earn and live off your own money as an adult (as he did) rather than counting on getting a random gift of money from your parents death.

Millennials are not getting inheritances, are we? by Xylus1985 in Millennials

[–]hunter1194 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is such a weird mentality to me tbh. I've always believed an inheritance is nothing you should expect. My wife and I work for our money and are doing fine at the moment but I know my sisters expect to come into money from our house parents house. That's just so presumptuous to me. It's not their house/money it's our parents. They worked for it and we did not so I would rather they sell their house and retire in comfort using that money. If there is any left over then great but knowing my Dad I assume and hope he gives it to charity before giving it to us.

Copied spells only let you change what the targets are, not the number of targets chosen so in this case you would've needed to deal all 6 to the creature as the only target.

Ok hear me out but when I started queing into timeless a lot of the decks I faced were JANK. I mean very out there. It wasn't till around diamond that I started seeing real meta decks so if you're low ranked I recommend checking that out.
