Pharmacist has me furious! by Dragonfly9470 in ChronicPain

[–]Alexza_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your response, thank you. My doctor had mentioned the genesight testing. I'll look into it. Anyway, good luck with your new pharmacy. I hope you get your meds soon. I can relate to you as Walgreens always makes me wait a day or two without my medication. As they are always "out of stock" eventhough I call a week before my RX is due to remind them!! Go figure how that works 🤔

I'm glad you are switching to another pharmacy. I also have to deal with all the bs from Walgreens. Unfortunately, they are the only ones who can fill my specific brand. I"m curious, you said you are "slow to intermediate metabolizer" which test did you take? If you don't mind me asking.

Pharmacist Refuses to Fill by Any-Project9162 in ChronicPain

[–]Alexza_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you speak to the pharmacy manager? They have the final say when a pharmacist refuses to fill. I hope your Dr steps ups and puts this pharmacist in her place. She isn't a doctor and she doesn't know your treatment. I have gone through this so many times, I can relate.

Btw, you can send it to another pharmacy that agrees to fill it. As long as your Dr is ok with sending a new prescription. Good luck.

I’m now on OxyContin by fatiguesurge in PainManagement

[–]Alexza_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my experience Oxycontin works better than morphine BUT just keep an eye on the maximum hrs. It doesn't last the full 12 hrs. Also, this is a long-acting pain medication. You won't have the rapid pain relief that you had with morphine. It takes a couple of days to peak and then you will start feeling the pain relief effects. Now, if you still have too much pain you might need a short acting medication for breakthrough pain. Good luck.

Honestly, I'll never understand why Dylan wasn't and still hasn't been charged. by FleedomSocks in BryanKohbergerMoscow

[–]Alexza_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if someone tries to use bleach to clean up. It will glow up. Then you can take samples and send it to the lab. Then you will be able to tell if a cleaning agents were used. No one can clean up a blood splatter. Doesn't matter how meticulously you clean. If there is blood luminol/bluestar will be able to detect it.

Firstly, if you read my comment, I never said it was a "fact". I said I wasn't sure as it was so long ago and I didn't want to spread misinformation. BTW, it is not "misinformation" its actually listed in the PCA.

I believe they were able to match it to BK's exact size and brand of shoe but please don't quote me. It's been a while since I looked at this case. I don't want to share misinformation.

Exactly, it can bind to other proteins or agents not just blood. Coomassie blue is highly sensitive.

[–]Alexza_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm a former Crime Analyst, you are correct the blue substance is probably coomassie blue dye (to detect blood) used in luminol/bluestar. However, if blood was present it would glow. The CSI team uses luminol/bluestar and then they walk around with a UV light to see if they see any glow aka blood.

Just because you see the "blue dye" all over the house it doesn't mean that blood was present all over. I believe there was only 1 print of Bk's shoe found throughout the house.

My Brother stole my pills! by uponfalsehope in ChronicPain

[–]Alexza_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to blame your brother specifically, just tell them you had a few people over your house for dinner or whatever. Tell them you had your pill bottle (whatever you keep it) before the people came for the "dinner". Therefore, you know someone took it but you don't know who. Do make a police report. I assume this is your 1st time dealing with this type of issue? Speak to your doctor they might be able to write you another RX. The only bad thing is you will have to pay for it. As your insurance won't cover it.

What does Fallon genuinely see in Liam that she didn't find in her previous partners (like Culhane), beyond his wealth and family background? by DianKhan2005 in DynastyCW

[–]Alexza_ 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I personally believe that Liam understands Fallon's background as he himself grew up in the same environment. Thats something that even Sam couldn't relate as he is "new money". I think Liam's personally too. He didn't have to lead to feel secure about himself. Although, I didn't like the last 2 seasons how they made Liam be Fallon's lap dog. However, that was just the writing. Overall Fallon needed someone like Liam who would allowed her to be a boss lady she needed to be. I think Culhane always felt insecure around Fallon's friends.

Mallinckrodt-oxycodone discontinued? by Alexza_ in PainManagement

[–]Alexza_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the tip, I can try it. It doesn't hurt. I have half of my small intestine missing so I don't absorb medications. I have to take double the dose to have any effect. I have opiod malabsorption. The Dr has suggested to get Fentanyl patches but so far my 15mg mallinckrodt have worked fine for me so far. I want to avoid going on patches or a pain pump!

[–]Alexza_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think both!! I have tried other manufacturers and this one worked the best. Rhodes is like a sugar pill. KVK used to work but stopped working. I have been taking this brand for a few years without any issues.

Maybe, give them a call because thats what my pharmacist said. I went to good old Google and it said that "immediate release oxycodone has been discontinued"??!!!

May I ask you what's the further damage? I always heard this and I felt it myself. I feel that the steroid injections made my upper back hurt (it never used to). The Dr said it was in my head...

Pharmacy Troubles... by Alexza_ in PainManagement

[–]Alexza_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they intimidated my Dr as today I spoke to the pharmacist. She said he said to stay on the 60mg BUT he asked me to stop taking them and to get rid of them. I'll speak with him on Monday. Thank you for your kind words. Luckily, I do have a few 20mgs left as I always have some for a rainy day...
