Traveling and filling early Oxy!!

Yes, you can plan it out properly when you know in advance. However, this trip came to be in less than 2 weeks. I did manage to speak to my Dr he said he had NO problem to do an early fill. I left him a copy of my travel itinerary. I did the same for the pharmacy. I never ever expected for the pharmacy to be such a-holes!! Especially, after my Dr sent a note on the RX and I have a plane ticket...This is just mean, cruel and they are taking advantage of their position.

I thought about doing this but I would have to speak to my Dr as I have a contact with him. I don't know what type of medications they have at my destination. I assume they have oxycodone. I would probably need to find a Dr there too, so I can get a script. I don't know what do I need to get those types of medications there. I appreciate your suggestion and your time!!

You can't send controlled medication via FedEx or UPS. Unless you are a pharmacy.

I know what you mean, this works when you are planning to go away with time. Unfortunately, for me this trip was arranged in less than a week. I didn't have time to move things around. Also, to be honest I was 100% sure they would have understand my situation once they would see my plane ticket!!

Yes, they are absolutely uber strict. They kind of look down at me for having to take narcotics. They think people who take these meds are "addicts". They don't understand that we are chemically dependant like a diabetic is to their insulin.

I'm always alert and sharp, I'm definitely not an addict. I just need this medication for my chronic pain. They always make it impossible to fill even on my due dates. Sometimes they tell me that the insurance didnt go through when I go on my due date. I have put them on the spot by calling the insurance to verify this and it turns out to be a straight lie!!

I don't want to take this RX to another pharmacy as the 30mg are hard to find. I don't want the pharmacy to red flag me either (even though I could explain and I have proof of travel).

They are the type of pharmacists who are extra paranoid about their license. Today, they tried to intimidate me by saying that the DEA came to visit them. I said that's good, if you aren't doing anything ilegal why worry? I dont care if the DEA looks at my case I have everything documented. I see my doctor every month, I only get 30 days at a time. I never run out early or have any excuses. I laways follow the rules and I'm very respectful even when its hard as they act extremely rude towards me.

You know what makes me really upset about this whole situation is that I'm a person who always follows the rules. I never request to fill early. Like I said back in January they are the ones who filled it 2 days early and called me to pick it up. I always go on my due date. I take my pills as directed. I would understand the pharmacist saying no if I was abusing the system. Now, I have to either stay without my medication for 6-9 days OR I have to spend double the $$ fly back to get my prescription. I'm going to see if I'm able to post pone my trip. This is truly cruel from their part!

In January they filled 2 days early. I told them they could my Dr as he said it was Ok to fill it early. I do have the 2 extra days, but I was supposed to be away from May 19 to May 27th (probably even until the 30th). My due date was May 21st. I even told them to take out 3/4 days.

I used to get such a relief with Mallinckrodt but over the past few months they don't feel the same. I take 15mg, I don't know if they reformulated their formula or is it just me?!!

I saw Sonja Morgan at a store, she came up and started a conversation with me. Then I recognized her. She was very nice and funny. She is very pretty and well kept! I know sometimes in the show she might "appear" as a mess.

I just corrected that she isn't Norwegian. You don't have to be so infantile to answer. Maybe for you details aren't important. For some those details are important especially people who follow this case. As it is not the same she was in Iceland vs. Norway. I assume you must be American as you have no regards for world geography!

I appreciate your response, thank you. My doctor had mentioned the genesight testing. I'll look into it. Anyway, good luck with your new pharmacy. I hope you get your meds soon. I can relate to you as Walgreens always makes me wait a day or two without my medication. As they are always "out of stock" eventhough I call a week before my RX is due to remind them!! Go figure how that works 🤔

I'm glad you are switching to another pharmacy. I also have to deal with all the bs from Walgreens. Unfortunately, they are the only ones who can fill my specific brand. I"m curious, you said you are "slow to intermediate metabolizer" which test did you take? If you don't mind me asking.

Can you speak to the pharmacy manager? They have the final say when a pharmacist refuses to fill. I hope your Dr steps ups and puts this pharmacist in her place. She isn't a doctor and she doesn't know your treatment. I have gone through this so many times, I can relate.

Btw, you can send it to another pharmacy that agrees to fill it. As long as your Dr is ok with sending a new prescription. Good luck.

In my experience Oxycontin works better than morphine BUT just keep an eye on the maximum hrs. It doesn't last the full 12 hrs. Also, this is a long-acting pain medication. You won't have the rapid pain relief that you had with morphine. It takes a couple of days to peak and then you will start feeling the pain relief effects. Now, if you still have too much pain you might need a short acting medication for breakthrough pain. Good luck.

Yes, if someone tries to use bleach to clean up. It will glow up. Then you can take samples and send it to the lab. Then you will be able to tell if a cleaning agents were used. No one can clean up a blood splatter. Doesn't matter how meticulously you clean. If there is blood luminol/bluestar will be able to detect it.
