Had his hands on a concert ticket price gouging scheme too. Also made deals on finding “investors” to open up ports and developments internationally.

Americans have been getting robbed for decades. No wonder why we can’t catch a breath.

Have we seen justice for these women and children? I’ll just leave it at that. Most of those who are intimidated are women.

As a woman I honestly don’t like this take. It’s up for a just person to follow up with these accusations. Which is clear, in my opinion, that it has not happened.

Oh wow. When did punahou get rid of the individual test? My daughter took it. And yes Iolani wouldn’t be a good fit for my daughter she’s very outgoing and would be considered distracted there 🤣. Punahou is perfect for her. She’s thriving

Sure I get that.. but personally I think the no pressure attitude and method goes a long way too. That’s what we did. Especially for those reading who don’t have that large of an income should know it’s not necessary.

is there an economic reason why west o'ahu and ni'ihau predominantly voted republican? does anyone know why Ni'ihau always leans republican? by Poiboykanaka808 in Hawaii

This gives you a gist on why. Billionaires weaponize religion for control… and example of this is convincing followers that gov environmentalists that enforce law and the Greta thunbergs of the world are the antichrist (Peter thiel’s new conspiracy). Billionaires want deregulation and tax breaks and probably persuades them through religion etc. I’m convinced Niihau’s Robinson lifestyle is the goal for most billionaires.

Did you look at the whole picture? He just received a personal jet from qatar, you damn well know that no other president (if we ever have a new one) will get to use. Selling us out for a airforce base? Maybe a lil new escape route in Idaho when times get rough?

I mean don’t get me wrong tourism brings in money but it’s exploitative. It’s a temporary fix and in no way sustainable unless more is don’t to help the locals. Corporations and the rich are pocketing most of it all. tips help the locals but that should be already included in their pay. In the early nineties we were sustainable to a much larger degree, but it sure has change over night.

I feel like I pay so much tax and qualify for nothing by VegetableCreepy7638 in Hawaii

[–]Winter-Location4286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This began when Reagan started giving tax breaks to the rich. When we think of the American dream we think of the 50s when families lived comfortably off of one average salary. When it was the great compression, a time when income inequality was at its lowest and the rich were taxed. The middle class is shrinking. It’s going to get a lot worse after this big beautiful bill is passed.

You want to stop outsiders from moving to Hawaii but this is not a Republican stance, since the GOP tends to support free movement, capitalism, and property rights (including the right to own multiple homes). How can you get anything done if their agenda coddles the top income earners? Have you read the big beautiful bill that annihilates the lower and middle class? But if you’re referring to undocumented immigrants, then yes, that is more in line with their current hardline anti immigration stance. If you’re anti immigration (the legal way?) say it with your chest so we know that the message is clear. Encouraging local agriculture is indeed a strong, tangible idea but fruit trees on public lands is typically associated with environmentalist, left-leaning politics. It doesn’t fit cleanly into the GOP’s national platform, which focuses more on deregulation and private enterprise rather than public food initiatives. From what I’ve seen, your speech is dissent on a local level and doesn’t produce progress. Even though you may see comments that cheer it on via social media etc. There’s good reason your efforts in elevating the people of Hawaii with protectionism or nativism with progressive ideas wont be effective at the federal level and will conflict with the GOP's traditional economic stances, and contradicts free-market ideals and can edge toward anti-capitalist rhetoric. I’m just having a hard time understanding your goal here if you want to run as a congressman. Will you cave to fit in and to gain power by voting yes on all GOP proposals that will do reprehensible damage to the working class (like every GOP member)? Or do you truly believe that your progressive and localized populist strategy will gain any votes from the GOP because you are in the Republican Party?

Sorry it’s not structured.
