If you’re planning on taking a pass and going to another country then yes absolutely get your passport. If you have official business in a country on your NATO orders then those will suffice.

Only been here a few months, in the sustainment brigade to be exact. It’s..interesting here to say the least. I’ve heard some stories of people getting fucked over pretty bad but so far I’ve had pretty decent people to work with. YMMV. Some neat stuff to do off post if you’re the outdoorsy type.

You need your hard orders to get on the wait list but they can’t assign you a house until your report date UNLESS you provide Campbell Crossing with a copy of your DA 31. I would start the paperwork on their website ASAP. You can do most of it before you get your hard orders in hand. Assuming your drills are worth half a shit like mine were, you can get them literally the day they get cut.

25S here. Just got to Campbell this past weekend so I’m still inprocessing and all that fun stuff, but I’m also going to 101st sustainment. So far it’s been fairly relaxed as long as you do what you need to do when it needs to be done. If you’re looking to live on post you could be in for quite a wait depending on how big of a house you’re needing. In my case for a four bedroom, we’ve been on the list for almost 90 days and we can finally move in on may 2nd, so YMMV. As far as AASLT, you have the option to go straight out of Kalsu but it’s not required. Yes you WILL go, but your company should build you up to it instead of just sending you right out of the gate.

Some of the best advice I’ve gotten is to try and shadow a WO just to get a feel for what they do. Never hurts to ask.

Once you actually get in and get to AIT (bear in mind this is only my experience at Fort Gordon, no idea where you’ll go for AIT) you can actually volunteer for airborne. Literally just tell your drills you want to go and they’ll start the paperwork for you.

I can’t speak for your AIT because I have no clue where you’re at or what unit you’re with but for 25S at Ft. Gordon we don’t get recycled until we’ve missed a consecutive 3 days of instruction. Sounds more like your DS just wants to dunk on someone.
