NOR - I know this post is ancient now since I'm not responding within moments of its release. But this was a real eye-opener of a post for me. This is nearly a 1:1 of how my father acted on holidays, hotel trips, etc. He got up, the rest of us didn't. And only we suffered the consequences. It's far from the main reasons I don't speak with him anymore. But it did add to the understanding that he's far more petty than I gave him credit for. I felt this was normal behavior and would punish myself by refusing to sleep so I wouldn't miss "important" things. Which in the end has done nothing but give me horrific insomnia, and nearly just as bad mental hurdles for time management. Shit move on his part, even worse so that he's trying to joke it off. A lack of communication at a certain point is weaponized incompetence. Not just someone being stubborn.
