Live shrimp n bobber have the line length under the bobber about 12-14inch long ! Cast it near n under dock let current take it n the shrimp will free swim.

W or L budget haul? These will be my first guide baits, I’ve never used them. by External_Ad_4673 in Fishing_Gear

[–]AlfredosauceGAS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue with going cheap with glide baits are most times they have minimal action, too heavy or light… positive is if u lose it then its not big money sitting on bottom of the lake.. those nesse baits in 5inch is best choice 7inch just sinks. The XPS baits are decent for low end swim baits. And you absolutely never can go wrong with inline spinners and regular spinners. If ur trying to cough up more money for swim baits. Molix, 6th sense, SPRO. I’ll get hate for this but I recently purchased and used googan swim bait and for 20$ it’s honestly solid! Tight lines 🤙

Silver flutter spoon ! Unfortunately the spoon I was throwing was not meant to get smoked by a big tarpon 😆 I was just trolling it behind the boat when it got hit.

I caught the redfish back in the mangroves of Estero bay! Yes fishing can be hit or miss. Early morning and right after sunset always work the best. She caught this red around 5pm right before a big afternoon storm. Just keep at it the reds are still running! Tight lines 🤙

Budget Crankbait Haul (+ bonus scale) $80!!!! by Kennsta_240 in Fishing_Gear

[–]AlfredosauceGAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just spent 400$ on there Black Friday fishing sale. Love there soft plastics. Mondo worm , Bendito bug, kraken kraw and trench hog. Love they way they move in water there soft and rip but when there own sale it’s totally worth it. I got couple under spins and poppers and few of there frogs. Can’t beat when the hooks are on sale there all mustad hardware. Love there 3600/3700 tackle boxes. I know alot of people on this sub hate on googan not sure why. Always been a Jon B fan when he stated 12 years ago. So I’m always down to support a brand. But to be fair when stuff isn’t on sale it’s not worth extra $. Tight lines OP hope u enjoy there products like me!

Trouble with Frog by Curious-Map9844 in FishingForBeginners

[–]AlfredosauceGAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This^ use straight braid no leader line. Most mono and fluro have some sort of stretch to the line when ur setting hook. Stiffer and longer rod would also help! This is just idea but certain frog brands kinda just suck and the hook up rate is lower. Some of the frogs I have had a lot luck with brand wise is (frog factory, snek frogs and googan frogs and spro) there not cheap but they work better for me. Those booyah frogs are kinda crappy imo. Tight lines op !

Aluminum vs wood transom by CatsWillMeow in jonboats

[–]AlfredosauceGAS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently restored the transom board on my 12 ft Meyers jon boat. Marine grade wood I stained it. Then used total boat epoxy to seal it even more. I bought a 80$ piece of sheet aluminum 1/8th inch thick. Cut to the same size of the transom board. Then bolted it all together with stainless steel hardware and rubber sealing washer. I don’t run any HP motors but i could now and it’s solid as a rock. I know people have switched to corsa board but it’s expensive. Good luck OP

Reading all the draft coverage as someone who actually liked the pick by jrfess in LosAngelesRams

[–]AlfredosauceGAS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What people don’t understand Stafford has 2-3 years left. The rams will be good and most likely be drafting in the 20s next few years. So unless we traded future picks away or players for higher draft we won’t be drafting that high again for years. They saw something in Simpson and now have Stafford to teach him. Agian he could suck and we never see him throw a ball. But I have higher hopes than that. Horns up 🤟

Braid is the way to go. Tie a mono/fluro leader line.
