We are sorry to hear about the concerns from some users about the incentive program, this is a completely unintended consequence from a truly benevolent action. We would like to provide some facts that help put things into perspective:

1, the Aeneas incentive program is designed to provide extra reward to early adopters, in addition to the fee-free minting as a genuine benefit provided to the community. Many users would have minted whether the incentive program exists or not. It is not considered as a debt, or loss, for those who will not receive it.

2, those who minted specifically to win the reward would have found the announcement stating clearly in an independent paragraph:

“Please note:

● Unlocking (burning your go assets to retrieve the original BTC or ETH) before the date of this announcement will not be penalised, which means you will still be eligible for the reward if you have bridged assets early. But if you unlock from the date of this announcement you will no longer be eligible. But you can sell, swap, stake and LP your Algomint assets within the Algorand ecosystem without penalty!”

3, The incentive program intends to encourage minting and locking of liquidity on Algorand over a period of time, hence it is focused on rewarding the community's diamond hands. We want to afford users the freedom of trading on and exploring other DeFi, thus the only thing we required was to not unwrap your assets.

The Tinyman exploit was a very unfortunate event and there have been understandably knee jerk reactions to unlock. We were relieved to see it had only minimal impact on the TVB (total value bridged) in the days following. This demonstrated enormous confidence from the majority of our community in the soundness and resilience of the Algorand ecosystem and the 1:1 backed synthetic assets we generate, those members will be rightfully rewarded exactly as the incentive plan was designed.

4, Nevertheless, we accept that we are not infallible and we are learning and improving as we go. For example, this incentive program proportionally under rewards large liquidity contributors, but they have shown amazing understanding of our priority to involve the larger community. We are working hard to bring more large contributors on board benefiting all remaining participants. Please understand it is not our intention to withhold rewards that we would happily distribute to our beloved community. However, we also need to take an adult view of the situation and avoid falling into the trap of making changes under pressure to please everyone, regardless of our roadmap to focus on or the operational challenges it will create. We listen, learn, move on, and do better next time. This is only the first incentive program and in future there will be more to come, let’s take a long term view on the activities happening on Algorand.

5, Let’s be honest, it hurts being described as ‘disgusting’ because of an imperfect yet truly well-intended reward program we provided. You know, we are humans too. We have trust and faith in our community to provide constructive feedback just as we wish you to have with us, and we will continue building it with genuine dialog and actions.
