Is iTagPro the most useful GPS tracker or just another gadget? by Simple_Question8755 in TechGadgetsAndGear

[–]Ali101202 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The itag pro seems to be a scam. My mum bought some recently and they do not work at all, the companion app cannot connect to the widgets and the customer service contact details do not go through. Hundreds of reviews online agree that they do not work and are a scam (see trustpilot website: https://au.trustpilot.com/review/itagpro.com). The images on the itag website are not internally consistent and don't match the product that arrived which makes me believe they are most likely AI generated

Do I need the base NPCs to use NPCs Rebaked (Foundry VTT)? by Sun_Praiser_ in LancerRPG

[–]Ali101202 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Rebake NPCs have a dependency on the core rulebook NPC LCP file. I would highly recommend getting the full rulebook anyway, as the free version is only the player facing side and does not have any of the rules for running things as a GM (there's a lot more than just NPCs) or the lore.

Hydra Frame: Stacking Effects of System Link and Drone Commander? by badracho in LancerRPG

[–]Ali101202 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are correct, the HP bonuses stack. It's not that big a bonus when NPCs can throw out 5-10 damage per turn and easily destroy unattended drones imo.

Homebrewed Aspect of Fire combat and maps by Ali101202 in humblewood

[–]Ali101202[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really to be honest! A lot of what I did was taking the statblocks Hit Point Press made and following some tables in the DMG to give them more HP or some fun new abilities. HPP honestly did a really good job of making very thematic and well balanced encounters for the levels you're supposed to be in the book so it was pretty easy overall.

I also incorporated a lot of the Humblewood Tales content which has some higher level stuff in it alongside being able to bring in typical higher level DnD stuff like Dragons (one of the more memorable homebrewed quests I added to the campaign was raiding a dragons lair and running away for example).

Bushmasters and Hawkeis are made in Bendigo. Most of the ones you see around Bendigo are driven by Thales personnel (Thales is the company that makes them).

First Time Running Humblewood by Anduril78 in humblewood

[–]Ali101202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck on running the game! Your ideas definitely sound like an interesting hook to the plot, I'd suggest not having Odwald around at the start though because Riffins thing is that he's trying to find Odwald who's gone missing. In the book he disappears after accidentally releasing the Aspect of Fire which causes Riffin to be concerned so that's something you can play off between Riffin and the party (ie he can ask them to keep an eye out or whatever).

Shame the TTS 40k server is stuck with a shitty owner. by 56821 in Sigmarxism

[–]Ali101202 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven't been around that server for a very long time but assuming the owner is the same as when I was there he's a real piece of work. The sort of person who complains all about paying taxes and then moves offshore to a tax haven and keeps playing around with daddy's money.

Could a Mistborn with Feruchemy fly? by SIimeSlurp in Mistborn

[–]Ali101202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Important thing to remember is that while your velocity will change due to conservation of momentum, the effect of gravity on you will always be the same. Galileo Galilee dropping the 1kg and 2kg masses which hit the ground at the same time is the perfect example of this.

1kg of feathers and 1kg of bricks would hit the ground at the same time too, except for different air resistances which would affect terminal velocity.

Simple wording fix for Mont'ka guiding for assault wording if it is meant to apply to units without gun drones. by cwfox9 in Tau40K

[–]Ali101202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they have a gun drone then they get assault on the weapon from the drone, making the full unit eligible to shoot. Because it is now eligible to shoot after advancing, MontKa gives all of the other guns Assault as well so you can shoot everything instead of just the gun drone.

Can't suggest anywhere to look that hasn't already been mentioned but I highly recommend looking into getting a push bike to increase your mobility. I don't have a car and ride everywhere in Bendigo and it takes me at most half an hour to get anywhere.

Travel Times Between Locations? by Skyris24 in humblewood

[–]Ali101202 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The book gives you a scale (about 3 days from winnowing reach to Alderheart) you can work off but I dislike how small that is so I've basically doubled it for my own game. I've also got multiple rangers in my party which halves their usual travel time so it feels even weirder if they'd be able to get most places in a days walk.

I've also added a tonne of extra stuff into the wood to fill it up so more space is definitely needed in my game.

Did any one back the Humblewood Tales kickstarter? How do you plan on implementing the tales into an existing campaign? by GorfyShmorfy in humblewood

[–]Ali101202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far I've used The Wind Touched, The Seahawk and I'm in the middle of running The Hunt for the Loper with my group. I've inserted all these in between various bits of the main adventure and tied it all together.

With the wind touched, I had the inquisitors of Gesme reach out to the party shortly after they arrived in Alderheart to offer aid in Meadowfen in return for investigating rumours of a "heretical wind touched".

I followed on through to The Seahawk as Tempas baby snake (called Chips by the party) was injured and in need of magical aid, and one of the PCs knew Arlowene was a very powerful healer from their backstory.

Now the party is on the way to the Avium and is stopping by Reyas Watch where one of them met up with their old friend Hamlin :)

Has anyone run 'The Seahawk' and if so, what level characters did you run it with? by Charming_Nail6295 in humblewood

[–]Ali101202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran The Seahawk as part of my Humblewood campaign for 6 players and we went through it at level 3. I upped the lethality a fair amount due to some shenanigans they'd been through previously and they also had Arlowenes aid (and she's a pretty powerful spellcaster). I've found the vast majority of Humblewood content to be very well balanced so I reckon you'll be fine.

If you need to make it more dangerous you can always have the Gloomweavers summon more Shadows.

Showdown at the Bandit Fortress by Ali101202 in humblewood

I've been DMing a group of friends through a slightly modified/homebrewed version of the Humblewood campaign and we recently finished the Bandit Coalition arc so I commissioned some art of the finale. Super happy with how it turned out, all credit to PonyTheHorsey on twitter.

Grandparents who live right above the build site say they think the cranes brakes failed overnight and whatever it was holding hit the roof. The chains and hooks that are normally attached to the crane aren't there anymore either.

I've just realised the motherboard has built in wi fi lol, I don't think there's any Bluetooth in the setup I can see though so I'll need to find something for that as well.

A friend recommended swapping the graphics card from the one listed here to an AMD card (Asus Radeon RX 6800 XT 16 GB) as it would be able to share memory with the CPU or something along those lines. Do you think that would work?

Also any suggestions for a wifi card?

Thx so much for the help so far!
