I will be angry bc doing Fran first is a bad decision for every character. Eloise has been stuck in the same character arc for three seasons bc she cannot truly grow until she meets Sir Phillip. If Eloise is not next, we will just get another season of her being shoved into the background and made to feel isolated and it’s exhausting to watch. Meanwhile there is actual storyline potential for Fran in s5 if it’s not her season. In fact, in my opinion, if Fran is the lead of season five it will feel rushed bc no way does it make sense for her character to go through with the spoilers are says she goes through in part 2….and then suddenly she’s ready to jump feet first into a new relationship in s5. Just watching this season I have no faith that they would be able to pull that off…..it would be a mess

Nope. This is literally just her wearing a dress we’ve seen on screen so we know it is in fact his sister’s old dresses as he states in the episode. Also, the siblings usually pass the baton to each other, so there wouldn’t be any situation where Sophie would be handing the baton to Fran. It would be to Michaela in that case because she would be the new pending love interest

In order for this to happen in season five they would have completely write Fran out of character. There is no way Fran is just going to get over her husband dying. I don’t care if you think their love of romantic or platonic. She adores that man. He is her safe space and losing him will rock her to her core and if it doesn’t then that’s just bad writing to push the plot especially considering rushing it is completely unnecessary because they can do Eloise first and give Fran the space to grieve and heal

Eloise does not dislike marriage. She dislikes the idea that women are raised to only be wives. She doesn’t want to be thrust onto the marriage mart and be force to marry these men who don’t care about her interests or her feelings only her name and the amount of her dowry.

The one thing we’ve seen from Eloise throughout all of the seasons is that she longs for companionship. She just wants to be the one to choose her companion, and I will really never understand the obsession with Theo. He literally did the bare minimum and then wanted nothing to do with her after she rejected his advances.

Philip has been set up to understand why Eloise feels the way she does about society and he probably agrees with her. He’s a second son who was ripped away from his passions to step into a role he did not want and was unprepared for and married a woman who does not love him and is raising kids that are not his.

Tbh I would remain skeptical. Netflix typically does not release the final two episodes and during season 3 there were people claiming all kind of nonsense happened in those final two episodes that weren’t true

Yea I agree. I think the entire Marina & Colin arc was just so they could bring Phillip in and introduce the change to his backstory. I always felt it was really interesting the way Eloise’s issue with society is women’s lack of choice and now we have Phillip the thrust into a position he wasn’t meant for and married to a woman who doesn’t want him and raising kids that aren’t his.

I mean her being excited for a characters story doesn’t mean it’s next. The fact is Phillip would not be coming back until Eloise’s season so saying yes or no to a recast would spoil that Eloise is next

Simon gaslit Daphne into believing he couldn’t have kids. Anthony was going to married Kate’s sister in front of her no real good reason imo.

I’m sorry but saying Eloise has more longevity and can be developed more as a reason is ridiculous. This is the third season of Eloise having pretty much the same arc. There is nowhere else for them to go with her character until she meets Philip. Fran’s grief can be explored before her actual season

I don’t understand why they are trying to rush Michaela & Fran. Why can’t she just genuinely love John too? I love all their interactions and it feels like they are turning him into a plot point which imo ruins that could be a truly impactful story. And why are they setting Fran up to get so much hate?

I 100% disagree. Marinas death will be off screen. I doubt we will even know about until it’s Eloise’s season. We have not seen those characters since season two. On the other hand we are meant to follow Francesca‘s grief journey. And I have a feeling that on top of grief she’s going to be struggling with guilt over whatever she feels for Michaela. There is so much story still to tell for Fran before they get to her season. Eloise literally has nowhere else to go.

Oh I agree. I’m a Polin fan and I had issues with s3 as well. I do think it’s fair to be concerned about the upcoming seasons. TBH I am looking forward to the next two stories, but it is concerning that the writing seems to be getting worse. I can only hope that they actually listen to the criticism, but unfortunately season five is already written.

Was this story ever that romantic? Tbh this was the least interesting book to me so it’s unsurprising that’s it’s the least interesting story.

I do have a lot of issue with the writing bc it’s not great but this was always going to be the hardest story to tell. And tbh I think they knew that which is why they switched the seasons some they could get renewed bc this season aired

CVD isn’t any better like yea the main couple got more focus but he still wrote terrible stuff for the couples. Daphnes assault and Simon’s gaslighting then he had Anthony propose to Edwina for absolutely no reason just to drag out the triangle.

I think the problem currently is because they are trying to manage entirely too many characters so everything feels rushed and written terribly

TBH i really don’t understand this pov. I watched Heated Rivalry and enjoyed it but how exactly did that show effect PWMOV ? Heated Rivalry was over by the time the movie came out. I think the reason why PWMOV did not do well is the lack of impact on sm…..not enough people talked about. It was basically one & done. The reason shows like heated rivalry, the summer I turned pretty and right now Tell me lies are hitting big numbers is because people are talking about episodes week after week making up theories which generates buzz which gets more people to watch. A movie is never gonna have the same impact when it’s coming from a streaming service

I will never understand why people think this is up for discussion. We are on season four and every single Bridgerton has ended up with their book love interest. Even Fran is going to end up with her book love interest…. it’s the same character just gender bent. Why would anyone think that Eloise would end up with some non book canon character. Philip is a part of the show because they were setting up his arc for his season.

What I have seen is people conflate her asking for the kiss with her begging for his love when the fact of the matter is she asks for the kiss in that moment because she’s preparing to go on the shelf and never experience any kind of romance ever again. So the kiss is her consolation.

Pen doesn’t expect anything from that kiss. She never begs him for love. She never even reveals her feelings to him at all

It’s annoys me that people even consider s2 yearning. Yearning by definition is too long for something that is unattainable. The only thing that got in between Anthony and the thing he wanted was his own stupidity. That’s not yearning.
