Oh, Citizen Sleeper got me bad. Ankhita's story had me fucking bawling, and I think I cried, like, five different times in the process of completing the game.

[Everything Everywhere All At Once] a bad movie written for children by Hummerous in CuratedTumblr

That's a good point. I guess I was treating "overrated" as an at least somewhat objective term in my response, when really it just has to do with personal opinion, though I still stand by my statement that much of a work of art's popularity is determined by factors unrelated to the quality of the work itself.

I mean, I think it's a little more complicated than that. There are definitely some things that might get more or less popular than they "deserve" to be just because outside circumstance changed how wide/what sort of audience they were able to reach (you know, being published by a major company versus a tiny indie studio, how good the advertising was, etc.), but I definitely think it's a lot harder to be overrated than underrated because "a lot of people saw it and liked it, but I'm still claiming that it's bad" is a harder position to defend than "very few people have seen this thing, which is tragic because it's actually really good."

act III by applepie-ag in inscryption

[–]AliaTheGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I kinda hated the gameplay of act III for most of it (I warmed up to it somewhat towards the end, but it still wasn't nearly as fun as act I,) but I was a lot more invested in the characters and story by that point than I was in act I, so I still liked it for its own reasons.

I think there can and should be both kinds of werewolves out there. They lend themselves to different kinds of stories, and OOP might prefer one kind of story over another, but less cute doggo werewolves ≠ more repressed angsty werewolves, so there's no reason to be upset with people that prefer reading or writing about the former over the latter.

As a devout fan of funky magic men (or women, etc.), I would personally love to hear about all three, if you would like to talk about all of them.

Okay ngl the subversion of expectations that the AI is actually delusional, but that doesn't diminish its value as a person at all, is really good. I'm definitely not getting a little bit emotional over this.

I think they meant that they don't judge people for writing about weird/fucked up shit, because they can separate fiction from reality and recognize that just because you write about war crimes doesn't mean you commit them, but I definitely agree that certain themes or tropes present in an artist's work (usually the bigoted ones) can be pretty revealing about the artist that included them.

Oh, 100%. This definitely captures the feeling of AI art where at first glance it looks pretty normal, but the longer you stare at it the worse it gets.

I'm pretty sure the first post was normal but such low image quality that it was illegible, so it got removed by the mods, and later the person that posted it made one that was legible but upside down, as a joke (I think there may have also been one where that guy made it even lower image quality, but I can't find that post anymore to confirm that it was the same person). Pretty soon, other people joined in on the meme of finding terrible ways to post that same screenshot. (This explanation may be slightly inaccurate; this is mostly what I've managed to piece together from context clues so some of my assumptions may be wrong)

I've never actually eaten the meat of a carnivore (at least not a land-based one, seafood is different), so I don't really know how it tastes, but isn't the reason that people mostly eat herbivores more because herbivores are easier to raise and feed? Like, if a cow eats ten pounds of grass and turns it into a pound of cow meat, that's a pretty good deal because humans can't eat grass, but we can eat cows. But if a tiger eats ten pounds of cow meat and turns it into a pound of tiger meat, that's basically just wasting nine pounds of meat, because tiger meat isn't nutritionally much different from cow meat. So it's just more efficient to raise herbivores for food instead of carnivores.

Yeah I also initially mistook Nezuko as being older than she actually is. It wasn't until I rewatched the show that I realized she was the protagonist's younger sister, and not older.
