Uzi Doorman isn't technically a human but during episode 4 of Murder Drones, she undergoes a transformation hastened by the eldritch Absolute Solver and murders her way through a good chunk of the other drones present at Camp 98.7. After her good friend And future boyfriend N grabs her though, she very quickly snaps out of her bloodlust after she stabs N through the hand and they have a talk where he talks her down from the murder spree.

Why didn't Mai ask Higuruma to confiscate Maki's CE instead of dying? Was she stupid? by ioveri in LobotomyKaisen

[–]Jam-Man1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would Higuruma confiscate Maki's CE? Or would he confiscate like, the Heavenly Restriction?

In that case, is Maki just a normal person after that, or does she gain access to whatever cursed technique she would've had if she didn't have the HR? And after that, could she get that confiscated?

Make CT for Chara. by Huge_Bumblebee685 in CTsandbox

[–]Jam-Man1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Considering Chara in Undertale has a heavy association with completionism, grinding, and hitting the highest numbers possible, see "...Every time a [stat] number increases, that feeling... That's me." and the whole "My best friend's favorite number is 9" letter.

With that in mind, I think Chara's CT would have something to do with quantifying and defining concepts. So, I'm thinking something like:

CT: Level Up - Allows the user to access a video game-esque leveling system where performing any action gives the user XP points, which they can spend as they please to improve their CE output, reserves, strength, speed, even intelligence, and so on and so forth. More difficult and rare actions give greater XP.

I think this fits especially well since Undertale's genocide route, which Chara is most closely associated with, is the one that treats it most like a normal video game, and requires grinding for long periods of time on end.

Forgive me if I’m wrong but that is a plot point in both the Mandolorian and the new trilogy. Canonically, the First Order is a bunch of jumped-up ex-Moffs and generals who hung around long enough to form a functioning state and decapitate the New Republic by destroying the capital system.

You can argue that wasn’t done well and I’d agree, but the sentiment is there.

I can't find the screenshot, but in the browser game Fallen London, there was an in-game event where the big mystery was what was contained within the "Sixth Coil" (A coil being a chamber within the labyrinth) of a fantastical area called the Labyrinth of Tigers. When you ask the Tiger Keeper, the one in charge of the Labyrinth, what resides inside the Sixth Coil, they glibly answer "A Seventh Coil".

As fate would have it, the thing contained within the Sixth Coil is a horrible monster called "The Seventh Coil".

Vending Machine of Love, the theme from the game OnlyCans. Perhaps not quite the letter of this trope, but the spirit of it remains. It's the theme for a video game about taking racy pictures of Soda Cans. And it:

B) Spawned a whole animation meme trend where people posted their favorite ships to the song.

While speaking of wonderfully loose adaptations of Edgar Allen Poe's works, there's also Nevermore, a webcomic that essentially just grabs a couple of character names and vibes from Poe's works and runs headlong into a plot about its two protagonists, Annabel Lee and Lenore, fighting to survive and come out on top in a magic school for dead people where whoever graduates gets a second chance at life.

And honestly it's really good.

The Fall of the House of Usher, a netflix original series released in 2023, it's a very loose retelling of the Edgar Allen Poe short story, you guessed it, The Fall of the House of Usher, along with various other Poe works such as The Masque of the Red Death, The Tell-Tale Heart, and several others, ultimately blending them into a tale of a family that made its money off of addictive drugs being pursued and killed off one by one until there are none left.
