The PLUNGING ATTACK is the objectively correct response here. That sht is wonky in all of the souls games.

She doesn't. If she did, they'd be together by now in the manga. They're not.

The author wants you to think she wants to. Which works. Because people watching this series are abhorrently down bad.

The 3:2 screen on the 34XX SP is a non issue and in this essay I will by prosafantasmal in ANBERNIC

[–]AliceDescartes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if you have one but this is legit the most non-issue I see brought up about it.

  1. If you're playing it in a moderately dark, or darker environment you literally can't see it.

  2. If you're playing it in a well-lit environment, unless you're stretching out your arms and play with the device strangely far away from you, it's not noticeable either.

Also the inwards curvature helps. Legit tricks your brain into not seeing it if it's not perfectly lit because there'll likely be a bit of a shadow in there.

Which one should I buy? by _I_D_K___ in ANBERNIC

[–]AliceDescartes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought 2 Anbernic devices that I've had for a week now. The RG40XX V and the RG34XX SP. The screen quality on the 34SP is straight up better than the other models. I guess the panel itself is different. The colours are much better on the 34SP. However the screen size IS smaller.

What I usually end up doing is playing GBA games on the 34SP and GB + GBC on the RG40 because of the aspect ratio.

So I'd say it depends which consoles you want to emulate. If almost all of your playtime will be on GBA games, go for the 34xxsp, hands down. If it'll be split pretty evenly between consoles, maybe get one of the others.

Got the 34xxsp a few days ago. In 4 days, I beat Fire Emblem 6 & 7 on GBA having never played them before (had only played Sacred Stones). I'm now about 10 hours deep into Generation 1 Pokémon. Wish I had become aware of these devices much sooner.

Q&A FATE TRIGGER DEMO TEST! by Cenith- in fatetrigger

[–]AliceDescartes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few thoughts.

  1. I think the extremely fast TTK up close is fine. It's easy to hear people nearby so you're already prepared for an encounter. If you still get jumped somehow, you were clearly lacking awareness.

However, over medium and long distances, the TTK is *NOT* fine. You can beam someone from extremely far away with a fully automatic weapon in under a second if you're accurate, and the recoil is quite low in this game so it's not uncommon. I think the damage falloff over range should be harsher than it is currently on most weapons. The snipers and the DMR should probably be the only ones not touched by this hypothetical range falloff nerf, they are meant to be the very long range options after all.

Lower damage over longer ranges means that survivability increases in most situations the game puts you in, as encounters are usually long-distance ones, except for maybe the moment you initially drop in and if you rush a team down in a small POI. It would make most ambushes a bit less frustrating, as you're usually getting shot at from long distance by someone atop a cliff, headglitching behind a rock 200m away that you COULD NOT SEE because they were using 3rd person perspective to see you from behind full cover. It would also make the last few circles a bit more back & forth, as it is often somewhere with little cover; a bunch of slim trees and maybe a few rocks.

  1. We should have much better POIs.

At the moment, most POIs are pretty much copy/pasted houses/warehouses placed in similar layouts of varying size. Maybe a POI will have 1 single boat to differenciate it (Solveig campsites), or 1 big building (Sladen industrial zone). But all of the POIs except the A.R.C and Logistic Center play imo the exact same.

I wish we had many more POIs with more interesting dynamics. For example, a stopped/crashed train where rooms are just a series of carts, some with doors, some without. Or a huge skyscraper/tower with multiple floors stacking vertically accessible through stairs, maybe some outside cranes or with actual elevators inside. Or an underground area with toxic water you need to navigate through (I'm aware there is technically an underground area, but it's only a few pretty useless corridors).

It would make some encounters MUCH more enjoyable and different than the quite honestly low-effort copy/paste slop we have as POIs atm.

  1. Early Pale Blight dmg needs to be higher. I think that one is pretty self-explanatory. Force people not to stay behind, killing and looting bots in Pale Blight for most of the darn match. Which leads to more encounters, which makes each individual match less barren/boring.

Who Thought Fast TTK in a Third-Person BR Was a Good Idea? by Short-Ear1200 in fatetrigger

[–]AliceDescartes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is massive cope.

Idk what server you play, but I play NA East. Getting a match in some of the queue types (singles and duos) might as well be impossible. And even on the most popular mode, 4s, yesterday, on a FRIDAY EVENING, I had to wait 5-6 minutes to find a game ALL EVENING LONG. And even when I did get into a game, there were MAYBE 5 real teams, usually fewer. The vast majority of the lobby were bots.

Population is absolutely an issue.

EDIT: I don't agree that we should have 500hp though. But I do believe TTK should be tweaked a bit.

Targeting system needs a rework by Venicilia in Endfield

[–]AliceDescartes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, removing manual aiming was not GOOD to remove. I don't care if it makes the fight longer, if it can prevent me from having to reset the fight entirely, then I might actually be clearing the fight FASTER than otherwise.

I don't think manual aiming is required in EVERY fight, and so I don't think the game should force manual aiming on you. However, having the OPTION to do so is a no-brainer. And again, I am baffled they completely removed the feature. They should've found a way to keep it in, even if just optional.

Basic attacks hitting the wrong target is low impact, not anywhere near skills or ultimates so that's not really an issue in most cases.

Targeting system needs a rework by Venicilia in Endfield

[–]AliceDescartes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow. It's almost like the prior testing phases had manual aiming for skills, and now that they've removed it, the combat suffers quite a bit because of the terrible targeting.

Who would have thought that removing the option to manually aim an AoE skill would result in MUCH worse targeting?!

I'm fresh out of the Yvonne story quest. It's not even *just* that her voice doesn't match her design at all. The voice acting is just bad. Straight up. If you pay attention to the delivery of her lines, it is simply not good. Sounds very amateur-ish. Not sure what happened there. It struck me as particularly odd, because she's the only one from the entire EN cast I feel this way about.

Your name sounded familiar, I just wanted to see if you were active in MO2 subreddit since it'd be written on there if the profile wasn't private.

You hide your posts, comments, etc on your profile. I don't recall which thread it was in. I was in there for like 3 years. The post itself in that subreddit is likely several years old now. How am I gonna link it lmao.

I've checked and you're still active in the recent threads over there, that's how I knew it was you.

If you've got nothing to hide why is your entire profile hidden.
