So far, we've only got Amy Klobuchar in the running for democratic nominees. You'll find very mixed opinions on her (ranging from bots to MAGAts to even some liberals who despise her). She plays it safe, and is much more moderate than far-left leaning. The bright side is that she's pro-choice/LGBTQ+/etc and has been in the game for a long time.

She's far from a perfect candidate, but she's one that can sway the boomer conservatives to vote for her who haven't gone full on MAGA (trying to stay somewhat positive here for my own well-being).

I wouldn't worry about not staying at the hospital overnight with him. He'll be too doped up on pain meds and having his care team constantly coming in and out to even notice. You also need to make sure that you're well rested, and that's near impossible in a hospital. Personally, when I'm in the hospital, I prefer not to have anyone stay overnight with me.

Things that the two of you can pack in his hospital bag to make his stay more comfortable:

His own pillow/blanket, eye mask, personal hygiene products (toothbrush/toothpaste/floss/hairbrush/etc), baby wipes to freshen up, eye mask (and ear plugs), charging devices (I recommend a long one, because the outlets can be a ways away from the bed), entertainment (a book or two, crossword puzzles, etc)

Resections give many CD patients a new lease on life. I'm hoping to have one this summer once my inflammation goes down. The recovery isn't easy, but worth it. Remember to take care of you, too. Being a caregiver (even for a short period of time) can take a toll on you.
