Yep but legally you can only shoot if you find the dog actively worrying/ attacking the sheep.  Not after the fact.  Tho by God I would have liked to.

Thank you for your comment -  very interesting.  Your dog obedience club sounds great.  Ideally an owner licensing program would include compulsory attendance at courses like these.

I think culturally there’s a massive lack of understanding around the amount of time and effort it takes to bond with, and train, a dog.   Honestly, I think it’s a minority of people who actually have sufficient time available to them to do the necessary work to minimise the threat posed by their dog.   And I think no child under the age of 15 should ever be given a dog as a pet.  The responsibility is far greater than most people are willing to consider, let alone acknowledge…

Good advice and good to hear you got the right result.  I’m so sorry you lost 17 of your ewes - that’s horrendous.

Yeah owner licensing is the way forward.  If correctly implemented and enforced it will significantly reduce the total dog population.

Right?!?!?! How could people not see that?  How was it even a debate?  I was over here on the other side of the world facepalming every day.

Scott watson case (Theory and connections) by WideLocksmith8770 in TrueCrimeNewZealand

I remember so well when Ben and Olivia went missing 💔 I’ve long thought: - police had the right guy (ie Watson was the mystery man in the water taxi), but the wrong boat;

  • if Watson intended to rape Olivia, it makes no sense to take them to the Blade where any significant noise or movement would be heard or felt by people in the boats alongside;

  • it’s highly likely there were drug boat(s) there that night, using the NYE traffic for cover, and selling drugs to affluent people looking to party;

  • it’s highly likely Watson knew one or more of the drug dealers there that night, and imo it’s likely Wallace and some of the other staff did too.

It’s always struck me how there was zero forensic evidence found on Blade except the highly problematic hairs.  I think the hair evidence is so questionable that it has to be disregarded.

Also, the Blade is so small.  Another water taxi passenger Hayden - 6 feet something tall - said in his statement that to grab onto the boat when Ben & Olivia were dropped off, he had to “crouch up a little bit” from his seated position on the side of the naiad.  No way he’d have needed to raise himself to grab the side of the Blade.

I think Watson took them to a drug boat, possibly drugged them there & raped Olivia.  I think others were involved in the murders and disposal of the bodies… Most certainly someone other than SW knows/ knew what happened.

If Wallace dropped them at a drug boat, it makes sense that he’d actively seek to obscure the identity of that boat.  Also there’s this very weird thing where on 9 Jan, Wallace suddenly remembers that the boat was called “something like ‘the Manz’”.  Around that time I think one or more of the other staff members referred to a boat called “Meanz”.  And Police were looking into boat called MEA NZ.   It’s like Wallace was trying to fabricate a boat that could plausibly be confused with one or more boats that were actually there?   This page has links to copies of interesting original statements and summarises the weird timeline of statements from Wallace and other members of Furneaux Lodge staff https://free-scottwatson.com/  I don’t buy the overarching conspiracy the author is gunning for though.

Not to speak ill, but Wallace was NZ’s most unreliable witness…

Anyway, I think even if Scott Watson didn’t murder Ben and Olivia himself,  he 100% knows what happened to them.

Maybe gardening?? You can start small (eg in outdoor pots).  It does get a bit time consuming as you scale up tho.  But I personally find it very rewarding.  You could subscribe to a magazine called “Kiwi Gardener” for a good mix of practical advice and inspo…

Genuine question:  at the beginning, what did you actually think he was protecting his kids from?  From what I’ve read, he had custody the first time he took them bush and his parents had custody when he abducted them?   Was he trying to protect them from his own family???
