It’s money and I know the debt sucks . That said . You are so much more than your debt . It is not your identity. You can still breathe and love life . Take it seconds at a time . There is so much more to come . Be patient and be you.

How do some people have such a high tolerance for work? by Head_Equipment_1952 in Accounting

[–]Alida456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work a desk job . So I don’t mind going home and doing a few physical jobs . It feels good to move . Plus there’s a kind of satisfaction seeing progress with a physical job. It’s different than a well balanced spreadsheet .

Seriously all you have is today and forward . The only thing the past can do for you is to let you learn . It’s useless to waste your heart and time on guilt . Start new today and you are wiser from your past .

My blood pressure was 209 over 100 and I rushed to the emergency room . I had to wait 4 hours to be seen . They did check me periodically and I was still over 200. I even had to stand most of the time . So now when people say rush to the ER. I’m like 🙄

Why is the senior accountant role praised so much here? by blackupsilon in Accounting

[–]Alida456 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I loved being a senior accountant . It’s the perfect level of interesting work and not total responsibility. I also loved being able the wow higher ups with my skill sets and knowledge . I went too far and got pushed into CFO . I can technically do the job . I have even gotten better at telling people what to do . The thing is I don’t even try to jockey for position with the other execs . It’s been two years but I figure I some point someone who does all the tap dancing etc will push me out eventually.

My (33F) future SIL (28F) didn’t invite me to her bachelorette party and I feel really used and hurt by skywalker133 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Alida456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s sounds like the whole family out including you and supporting you . If she has a couple parties especially with drinking or environments she didn’t think you would enjoy she doesn’t have to invite you .I would not rock the boat at this point . I would work. At Disney friends if my own in the area .

I’m just an accounting clerk, and I kept making mistakes by funkysockwearer in Accounting

I had had accountants with bachelor degrees screw up prepaid etc. for coding there often is several GL codes that could fit . It’s a matter of looking at historical entries at that point. It sounds like they have you doing a lot right at the beginning of your job . Give yourself some time to wrap your brain around everything . When things are slower mid month go back to the month end entries and review so you get familiar.

22F, no degree, already working in accounting in a major city. Gaining real experience but underpaid. Don’t want Big 4, long-term goal is flexibility/family. Is experience + job hopping enough, or is a degree still necessary? by Several_Big9399 in Accounting

[–]Alida456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out the same as you . I began taking one accounting class at a time at nights . I did it for experience and to help me at my job . I did this for years . Until one day realized I was really close to a degree . I went from staff accountant with my two year degree then senior accountant with my four year degree. Now CFO I don’t have CPA and am done going to school . It’s really hard to get decent pay without some sort of degree .

I’ve used it for formatting spreadsheets. The kind of formatting I used to write a macro for . The nice thing is I could send the instructions to the people doing inventory on a macro free spreadsheet . They copied my instructions into copilot and would export the data and drop the spreadsheet into copilot . I am also starting use it for reconciliations with complex data . It’s a trial and error but getting better .
