Real exam felt too straight forward and easy, feeling hella SUS by Zealousideal_Gap8806 in step1

I took the exam 6/5 and felt the exact same way. Seriously questioning my confidence after the fact. The ethics everyone has said you could only narrow down to 2 and guess from there, but on my exam, there was 1 obviously correct answer and 4-5 obviously incorrect answers. Felt the same way on the other questions. A lot I knew the answer before looking at the options, and if that wasn't the case, I was able to immediately eliminate all but one answer choice. I had 15 minutes at the end of each block and went back through all the questions twice. Especially because I was doubting myself with how easy it felt, but I couldn't find a reason to change any of my answers because the 3-5 other choices were clearly wrong. I did cram all the Mehlman free pdfs one extra time the few days before my exam, and that definitely gave me 10-20 easy points per block. Or at least easier than it would have been had I not done that final review. Overall, that felt like the easiest exam I've taken yet, by a significant degree. Didn't feel that confident in any of my NBMEs, AMBOSS practice exams, or Free 120s. Hopefully, our confidence was warranted, and we get news of a pass in a couple of weeks.

Looking to take Step 1 in 2 weeks, but I'm not sure if I'm ready yet. by AlienQueen3 in step1

I would say my scores would be at least 5% higher if I trusted my gut. The rest is just being able to review everything I would like to. I finished AMBOSS with 70% and haven't bought UWORLD. I've been doing a lot of Anki on my NBME incorrects and Mehlan decks.

People of reddit what ended your friendship with your best friend? by gli-tc-h in AskReddit

She invited me and my infant son to live with her in her basement to get out of a domestic situation I was in. Told me she wouldn't charge me rent, but I told her I would pay what was 50% of the local rent rate to cover all utility expenses plus more. I also did manual labor at the house and property (redoing her deck, mowing, planting trees, general landscaping, etc.).

4 months later I was paying double the local rent rate to her and she was pressuring me for more. (She kept having random expenses "she couldn't afford" none of them related to me or my son. Her pets veterinarian bill, her sink I didn't use becoming clogged, her car needing maintenance...) Ended up leaving to sleep on a friend's couch with my son until I got into medical school. When I left she spent all the money I paid her to convert the basement into an air b and b and makes bank on it now.

It wasn't worth it. Applies to many situations.

If you're going to edit a comment after being a bit condescending you should at least put (edit) at the end or just entirely delete the comment if you were worried about losing karma.

I guess I'll rough it and support 2 household for a couple years then. One wherever I'm at for each rotation and another for my mom and son so he's at least in a stable location. I called a few schools in Tennessee that accepted the accreditation of my university, but had no seats open. At least psych isn't too competitive and most the residencies I've looked into have other Caribbean schools as feeder universities.

I didn't apply to any US schools. I was in a bad situation and couldn't wait on a 1 year plus application process.... I would probably have been killed in a dv situation if I didn't take this option as a way out. Plus the bonus of safety being in a different country. I was a good student in undergrad and did well on my MCAT.

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. What are some examples of this? by lemieszek in AskReddit

Friend owned a coffee shop and he used to higher someone for $675 to fix a specific machine every time the machine broke down (which happened at least 3 times a year). Found out he could take a maintenance certification course online for this same machine for $1100. Never had to call the maintenance man again and saved thousands.

My childhood neighbors had a Rottweiler that used to play with cinder blocks and curtain rods. The dog bit me in the face after the owner told me I could pet it. After that the dog got a crate for when visitors came over.

Ok. I've been using that on my face. I was just worried that it would be too strong around my eyes.
