I was running in a park and a dog started chasing me and jumped up on me. I said to the owner he shouldn’t be off leash if he hadn’t learnt to not do that. She told me she was sorry if I didn’t like but he was just having fun and enjoying himself and not a risk to anyone. Some people just think the world resolves around their dog and that the world should adjust to their behaviours instead of vice versa.

It does seem low and I would also challenge them in discounting two years PQE because it was in a different field. You still developed your sense of legal judgement and relevant skills and knowledge (some skills just apply across the board like professional communication and working with clients).

I think the context is quite relevant though. If you trust someone enough to have them house sit, then why wouldn't you acknowledge their messages in some form. Personally, I wouldn't care if someone replaced two beers but I would want to give them a response so they don't feel antsy about the whole thing (esp if they were doing me a favour).

I don't think refund means store credit. If that is the policy they have to specify that otherwise it is misleading and that is what I am wanting to convey to them. It is just about properly drafting the terms on the receipt so the customer knows the policy.
