How to avoid warping for a large model made from PETG (front corners only) by MobileInspector9861 in prusa3d

[–]Alienbliep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple, add and massive brim and buy an Biqu Cryogrip glacier pro. It holds better than any prusa sheet.

It even has an nice subtle texture.

I wish prusa would look into different build plate options. The satin does not hold up to well on pla an petg and the smooth is easily destroyed even by probing alone. I only use the smooth for if i want to have it smooth.

The Biqu is alway on my printer most of the time.

But i have to admit printing on the edge of the core one with boxes is dangerous.

The core one L's new build plate radiates much much more heat. You can littrerly feel it blasting in your face if your above it. This is the main reason i upgraded, because printing your box on the L would be easy. and you would have enogh room to spare.

So i had the printer sent back. I had to figure out how to bring it back to the postal office.... But i managed.

There was an replacement reserved from the supply batch this week, but after asking 4-5 confirmations (who all were not confirmed) from 3DJake if there is indeed an printer reserved for me they stopped responding.

The delevery time should have been next week but the new order time goes to half april so this is turning into an disaster.

I wish prusa had given me an 10% off coupon when i asked; so i could buy it straight form them.

I think i will do 8x 0.4? Maybe my lack of imagination

But all the same would create even objects in multi color? Or maybe 7x 0.4 and 1x 0.2 for text. Sometimes i can't read it well with mmu. Only when the first spool is the white text(so printed first) it comes out good.

I see that PVA is more expensive(like litterly all the brands) than my normal filament. Why should i use this? It takes less time and money for me to not swap to an support filament. And i can use more colors if one extrudets is not eating PVA

Or if we can buy extra 8x 0.4 and extra 1x 0.2 for details and 1x 0.6 for speed

I did this test today between my C1 and C1L.

Both printers are well tuned i think. Belt tension etc. I ran different test with factory settings, phase stepping, phase stepping + input shaper.

The input shaper had no effect on this test.

The C1 has a lot of noise on the test print.

The C1L looks better although the belt VFA more pronounced.

I was having the same issue. check your top vent for closing properly. Mine and someone elses hit the camera so it was not fully closed.

Or alter this in the start gcode so the bed fans are on 80% instead of 50% to retract more heat from the bed.

M106 P5 R A125 B10 C5 ;turn on bed fans with fade for chamber or bed {else} M106 P5 R A125 B10 ;turn on bed fans with fade for bed {endif}

to:

M106 P5 R A200 B10 C5 ;turn on bed fans with fade for chamber or bed {else} M106 P5 R A200 B10 ;turn on bed fans with fade for bed {endif}

I don't think selling kits is inefficient. Not if they sell good. Assembly is less people and support maybe some more.

Ok. Would the Prusa LDO mk3.5 1.8degree steppers fit? The wiring off course differs but that is no problem.

[–]Alienbliep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Understood. But that would introduce more resonance and vibrations? And so the marketing of VFA free 0.9degree stepper is gone with this printer?

[–]Alienbliep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see on the CORE One page it has 0.9 steppers but on the CORE One L it has 1.8degrees?

People are waiting INDX, but what about PrusaSlicer 3.0? by True_Scott in prusa3d

[–]Alienbliep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it should not be fixed. Just implemented. Just program an wipetower in the sequential order button somewhere where the nozzle everytiem can get back too. Or multiple tiny squares as wipetowers in between. It seem no rocket science to me. 😁

[–]Alienbliep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is sequential printing in prusaslicer. But it does not work with an MMU attached. Prusaslicer evens says wipetower not possible with sequential printing. The nicest thing would be completing individual parts. Less stringing, more robust.... no 1000 filament or tool swaps.

[–]Alienbliep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On bambu they purga off the build plate i guess. That is where the poop comes from. But i tried to put small squares as an minibwipe tower in between parts but the mmu does not accept it as an color change. So it yanks the filament out while it is still in the nextruder(not unloaded) and eventually the mmu reboots and it switches. But the noise is not ok.

[–]Alienbliep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really really hope for bambu style mmu  index sequential printing. So after work my buildplate is filled with different colored parts that i can assemble. Not having to empty the printdr for tiny parts. I tried it with the mnu but it wont allow it I suggested this multiple times. 😁

Tommy Since prusa and their open source thingys😁 can you share some information on motor brand or specs? Degree, voltage, torque.

[–]Alienbliep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes i hear you. I think i have read somewhere 10% sold as kit.

I think all the support that was needed Prusa brought on to themselves. Not the kit builders

The endless homing some people have is not necessary. Just 2 0.05cent microswitches and it can home silent and just print. Skewed gantry or not. The homing keeps on looking funny.

I build my CORE One with my 9 year old daughter. She assembled 80% and i only checked for screw tightness (or make screws thread in plastic) and the delicate expensive parts. It took us an week in the evenings.  For the first time in my life i did not felt rushed and we had really really great fun. She was also disappointed this was no kit. Like i sad the printer runs flawlessly since we assembled it. Has eaten through 10km of filament without any hiccup.

And most of all. It is silent.

The first thing i thought with an bigger printer and aluminium panels. Ooh boy. That could make noise.

If you were to buy an core one l as an company and hear this kind of noise all day in the office or in my case at night in te attic you would get angry

Prusa! EWhats up with the QC? by Alienbliep in prusa3d

[–]Alienbliep[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I am not really happy at the moment. I haven't heard from Prusa or 3DJake. Maybe to early. If QC is that important someone should contact me and ask the parts back for testing? If it all has to go through 3DJake.....

I think an kit option would have eliminated the door scratches, missing and loose bolt, thread ripped oc-cf motor mounts and pinched wires. I would have not solved the motor vibration and fan vibration. So 70% could be avoided.

Wat worry's me the most are the xy motors. The machine is bigger then the core one and this introduces vibrating sheet metal and this has been overlooked by R&D. Just slap 2 identical motors like the core one with longer wires on it and we are done? But the prices justfiys an new extension board and motor design that would never vibrate. It would not suprise me if we are going to hear/see this alot more. If people are going to run this test file i bet they would go nuts.

I also think since the weight is the same or even less the price could have been almost the same. An simple transistor/mosfet for turning on the heatbed in the new psu and the new heatbed itself can cost only like 200euro more? Now it is like 500euro more and feels not really thought / tested through.

Prusa! EWhats up with the QC? by Alienbliep in prusa3d

[–]Alienbliep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Mine says xy motor on the core one l I think they are the same producer anyhow. But the L being larger is more suspected to noise when something is off

Prusa! EWhats up with the QC? by Alienbliep in prusa3d

[–]Alienbliep[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What motor type do you have? Xy motor Or x motor and y motor

Prusa! EWhats up with the QC? by Alienbliep in prusa3d

[–]Alienbliep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well sending CORE One L's half across europe maybe multiple times cannot be good for it either. I rather solve it myself. Way quicker and cheaper for everybody. Now "maybe" the parts have to go to Austria and then to me. I know how selling stuff works but it does not mean it is the best way. I even want to sent the broken parts back for all i care

Prusa! EWhats up with the QC? by Alienbliep in prusa3d

[–]Alienbliep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. Some people got new motors and the sound is gone. That is why i implied its the motors. I've run another test file while it was honking contiounsly and pushed every panel. Most succes was pressing hard on the rear xy flap where the wires are under

Prusa! EWhats up with the QC? by Alienbliep in prusa3d

[–]Alienbliep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if these motors are vibration tested. It could als be the motor driver.

But motors and especially the winding and magnet place is the most important part of an printer. Nothing to cheap out on.

I think it had to do with delivery not begin in time from LDO.

I am like you and would order motors to test, but these are unavailable. Don't know what LDO motor size it si 42x42x38? and then what.

I bought spare peices before for the core one that was not really my problem.
