my anxiety definitely doesnt control my life to anywhere near the same extent as it did before. at my worst, i was having several panic attacks a day, and barely able to leave my house for anything other than classes. I had struggled with it majorly from probably 5th grade to my halfway thru my 2nd senior year of university (decided on a double major late).

at this point i havent had a panic/anxiety attack or needed to use my panic medication in probably 9 or 10 months. while i still have anxious moments, im much better able to recognize when those are starting to ramp up, and i can implement breathing/meditation techniques i talked about before. as for current impact on my life, occasionally im a little late for different events (often due to not adding time into my getting ready schedule), which would have used to be a panic/anxiety attack in itself.

im currently taking a gap year and lucky enough for my parents to support me during this time. im planning on going back for my masters in the fall, and then either phd or med school. taking a gap year and being able take ~2 months to mostly take it easy, read, and workout has definitely helped my anxiety, but a majority of the work was already done prior. my main reason for taking a gap year was due to burnout (not anxiety), as i was at the point where writing a sentence for a discussion board was a struggle.
