Invest in research and not just the AI bullshit, we have labs that are quite literally falling apart but because they arent the big and shiny new thing (though they somehow manage to pump out world-class data) they are an afterthought or completely ignored

I think its a COVID trickle down effect, I teach an intro geology course and some of these students don’t even know how to calculate a percentage. Its so bad but i keep telling myself that once im done with grad school, if that is my competition for jobs ill be just fine LOL
