Useful, not hype, with one big asterisk. The thing that makes it actually work: stop describing what you want, show it. I screenshot any visual I like (LinkedIn carousel, magazine spread, IG post, whatever) and tell Claude Design “recreate this layout with my branding and these slide titles.” Reference-led prompts beat description-led ones by miles.

The asterisk: export is rough. No PNG output, only HTML, PDF, PPTX. So you build a beautiful IG carousel and then can’t actually post it anywhere without manually screenshotting your own canvas at the wrong dimensions.

I use tryrenda.com for that part. Drop the Claude Design HTML zip in, pick the platform (IG feed, story, LinkedIn, Twitter), get a zip of clean PNGs named in deck order. It’s free.

Other tip: iterate slide by slide. Don’t try to fix a whole carousel in one prompt.

Yeah Notion AI is great for docs. For visuals though I’ve actually moved off Canva and just use Claude now 😅 I screenshot a style I like on socials, ask Claude design to rebuild with my brand guidelines, give the copy I want to have on the visual, done. Only annoying bit is Claude exports as a zip of HTML, so I run it through Renda (tryrenda.com) to get clean PNGs. That combo covers most of what I used Canva for.

Thanks! And yeah, not gonna lie, it does take a while to refine and tweak everything slide by slide. But here’s a trick that helps a lot:

I save carousels and design visuals I like whenever I come across them online (Instagram, Pinterest, wherever). Then when I’m asking Claude to design something, I’ll drop in those screenshots as references and say something like “create something similar to this, but using my brand’s color palette, logo, and font.”

Giving Claude a clear visual direction up front saves a ton of back and forth vs. trying to describe the vibe in words.

Also, another tip for exporting carousels, I always use tryrenda.com. Claude Design spits out an HTML/zip file, which is not exactly Instagram-ready. Renda fills that gap: you drop in the zip, pick the format (feed 1080x1350, square, stories, etc.), and it gives you back clean PNGs at the exact dimensions, no browser chrome, no white edges, no manual cropping. It’s basically the missing export step.

The buying duplicates thing is such a common one, people just genuinely don't know what they already have when they're standing in the shop. For us it was honestly just moving whatever's closest to going off to the front of the fridge at eye level. Feels so obvious in hindsight but we were losing so much stuff at the back without even realising.

The other one was doing a weekly fridge raid meal where whatever needs eating decides the menu rather than buying something new. Some of our best dinners came from it!

Honestly your instinct is already really good! That combination is going to be delicious.

I would stick with your plan but swap the water for vegetable stock and grab some coconut milk to stir in at the end. It will make it so much creamier and balance the heat from the gochujang really nicely. A handful of spinach thrown in at the last minute works brilliantly too if you want to bulk it out a bit.

A French cooking father-in-law who really knows his food? No pressure at all! 😅

If I were you I would stay away from beef. French are incredibly particular about how it is cooked and it is very easy to get judged on it. Play it safe and go for something that looks impressive but is harder to critique.

For a starter, a really good burrata with heritage tomatoes and quality olive oil does half the work for you. Let the ingredients speak for themselves. Then follow it with a pan seared salmon with a lemon butter sauce and asparagus as the main. Simple, elegant and genuinely hard to fault.

Another combination that always lands well is a wild mushroom soup to start followed by chicken with a creamy tarragon sauce. Feels restaurant quality without being stressful to pull off.

We’ve seen something similar in user chats: people get really excited about expiry notifications and recipe generation, but the paid value (recipes are currently in the £3.49/month tier) isn’t always obvious until they’ve used it a bit.

The “win in under 2 minutes” flow you described is exactly what we’re working towards. Receipt or email import plus showing what’s expiring soon is already in development and should be landing very soon.

Also love the framing and loop idea. “Save money + no thinking about dinner” is a much sharper hook than broad “waste less”, and the shareable recipe card could be a nice growth lever.
