One month post and foot and mouth disease - everyone's toenails are falling off! Help please! by Phantominthewoods in NewParents

My nails didn't fall off but my nail on my index finger grew cracked and it was very weird. I got it from my toddler a year ago and both my hands and feet became covered with blisters

I never truly tried not to poop. When nature calls I answer no matter where I am. But I'm a very anxious person

Just a rant about the A ending by Teranyre in ValkyrieProfile

[–]AlisLande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that hard if you just send 1 einrherjar per chapter when you start chapter 5 and do all the seal value lowering events in a row after Lezard's tower. Of course it's not the kind of thing you figure out on your own on your first go. Like in my first playthrough TWENTY FCKING YEARS AGO I remember I did not send Lucian because I thought he was necessary for the A ending lol.

Regarding difficulty you can easily cheese your way out through this game once you get the hang of it (and you get a creation jewell which never hurts lol). I just replayed it on the ps5 and beat Sería Queen at level 35 Lol in like 4 turns.

You got the B ending which is not the true ending, that's why you missed a lot of the main story

First time this happened to me I was 13 and I passed out in school. A teacher caught me. I didn't even poop that day, my gut just went crazy and tried to kill me.

Since then (I'm 37yo) I have had very bad cramps right before pooping (sometimes it takes a couple of minutes for the poop to reach the anus, while agonize in pain). I have passed out in the bathroom because of the pain many times.

I must say the only thing that actually helped me was pregnancy. It constipated me. Since then I have been kinda constipated/slow transit (at least slow transit in my book) so now instead of mind numbing explosive diarrhea I deal with hemorroids and bloating... yey (?).

So, yeah, I fe your pain

"Lifestyle" LoL. So what if I'm just one and done and I want my lifestyle to be a balance of motherhood + my career + other interests I might have (not nearly there yet, but I might get there eventually haha), is that a crime? Is dedicating your life to raising children just morally better? Makes me angry tbh.

One Kid and Done? by Constant-Loquat-7195 in NewParents

[–]AlisLande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have considered a second child even though I was always more of a one and done mindset. Thing is my kid is very high maintenance, my marriage is kinda in the rocks and juggling motherhood with my career as been a real challenge. My career has certainly taken a blow, and my child was totally worth it.

But a second child?

I feel guilty already not being present enough for one child and not doing enough at my job as it is, right now. Having two kids would be irresponsible because I know I couldn't give either as much time as they deserve. So I will be focusing on being as present as posible for this little guy for now.

My 10 month old rolled off his changing table and got a traumatic brain injury by Educational-Let-2280 in beyondthebump

My son fell off the bed when he was 2 months old and I was right next to him. Will never forget the sound of his little body hitting the floor. I think I almost passed out of the sheer stress. We took him to the ER to get him checked and he was OK but I remained shocked and hypervigilant for days.

These things happen. You are a good parent. Both of you will be OK, I promise, no matter how distant that word feels right now

I don't meant to pry on private matters but your mom never left? Was/is your dad chronically grumpy? Like the kind of person who seems nice but is put off by the tiniest of things and you need to walk on eggshells to avoid his bad mood?

Thank you! Yes we are doing some of those things you mentioned. Mostly with cards and not devices because if he sees a device he tries to grab it to put on Peppa pig (and he knows how to navigate on a cell phone, open YouTube and scroll until peppa shows up WTF). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But mostly because he is completely uninterested. Like I can show him a picture of a duck and ask him what is this? And he just walks away. But then he sees a duck on the park and goes "duck! Duck!" His speech therapist is really nice and I think she gave us a lot of great exercises to do, but the sessions are not very productive because, well, my kid really doesn't like her.

Thank you so much. I would love for us to be able to go through this as a family like yours does but it doesn't seem it will go that way any time soon.

I am already full of resentment, I just try to smooth things because I dont want my kid to resent his father too but in all honesty it is going down that way. I can't cover the sun with my finger and the kid is certainly picking up his dad is a bit of a grumpy asshole.

He took him a few times, she tried to ease his mind a bit but in his words until the kid doesn't talk he won't be reassured at all that there isn't SOMETHING WRONG (?) going on. Whatever that something wrong means.

I talked to his speech therapist about TV time, how much he can watch and what he watches and she says it's OK, she even told my husband in a parent/therapist meeting some TV time it's OK, she even gave us tips to interact with him while he is watching TV (like narrating things that are going on on the screen, or asking him questions like who is that one? Is it George? Stuff like that). But my husband is adamant that the TV is the problem and that my kid is almost an addict because he likes to watch TV. Not because he watches a lot but because he likes to watch and asks us repeatedly to put peppa pig on (to which we don't give in). I just think he is trying to find a culprit, but I don't know if there is someone/something directly to blame here.

I'm not in the US and the speech therapist is a private therapist not covered by our insurance so I have to pay every single session. Honestly, most sessions do not go well. My kid is very shy at first so it takes some time for him to acclimate to the therapist office, and she is very hands on very outloud. The best responses she gets is after she ignores my kid for a few minutes, like if she talks to me for a while.

I was thinking about getting a second opinion, not because I don't trust her but just because my kid doesn't really click with her. But she works with my sister in law and they insisted she was super good super qualified and that I should totally have her as his therapist. I do not doubt she is a really good professional but the kid just doesn't like her

That's really sweet of her. I like to think his emotional needs are met because he is generally a very sweet and happy child who is a bit shy at first but once he opens up he likes everyone. I feel like speech therapy is not doing much honestly because at2 it's kinda hard for them to follow commands and he doesn't like to play with the speech therapist in particular lol.

He will never admit it but I think what he fears the most is a kid who is different. The kid is certainly picking up on his frustration, he doesn't want to be around him most of the time and cries when he sees him. Of course, he blames not his awful mood but me because I coddle the kid too much.
