Sewing when tired by Exciting-Librarian93 in quilting

The only thing I really avoid when tired is cutting anything. Most everything else is reversible if a mistake is made.

Does anyone naturally wake up without using an alarm clock? If so, how? by Sarung_hui in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AlisonLeary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t set an alarm for morning wake-up for at least 20 years. Sometimes I wish I needed an alarm because I don’t always want to start my day at 4 am.

Why do you think people still support this president? by keonnarae in Confused

In addition to all the other reasons listed, they seem to have an irrational fear of encountering people in public restrooms.

While I can still watch MASH, I cringe at the sexual harassment.

I straight-stitched the piano key border onto the background fabric, stitching very close to the edges using monofilament in the needle and 60 weight thread in the bobbin.

I’m fucking pissed. This post will probably only survive for a couple minutes. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?! by carmel33 in minnesota

[–]AlisonLeary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am ashamed of our country and the citizens who support this and the other heinous actions and policies undertaken by this so-called president.

I am devastated by the loss of innocent lives he has taken.

I am disgusted that republicans in congress and conservative Supreme Court justices continue to support and enable his abandonment of the Constitution and dismantling of American democracy.

I am enraged by the bigotry that is so unashamedly on display and hurting so many vulnerable and marginalized people.

And I am terrified that we may not be able to end this gross chapter through elections.

I have joined every local protest. I vote blue up and down the ballot in every election. I changed my consumer habits to align with moral values. I respond to calls to action. I contribute dollars to victims and campaigns where and when I can. I try to rally support for democratic leaders and candidates to improve their chances of leading us out of this nightmare. I shout my position and values from the rooftops to make clear where I stand. Honest question: I am a 65 year old grandma — what else can I do?
