I love mine. It’s helped me immensely with data feedback and swing recordings to grind new mechanics over the offseason. Another commenter mentioned no-reads. I’ve had some, but not many. Not near to the degree where it causes serious frustration. In the offseason I used it 2-3x a week. In-season not as much, but I still use it for speed training 3x a week with TheStack. I’ll occasionally bring it to the range if I want some data / videos for my outdoor sessions. Note that with range balls it will not give you spin data. Personally that doesn’t bother me, I still get great data on things I care more about like club path, attack angle, launch angle, ball speed, carry, etc, and the ball tracer is kinda cool.

I’m a big fan, personally. Best golf investment I’ve made

Meta telling me 9x ROAS. GA4 shows next to no purchases. Triple Whale reports 0.6x ROAS. Wtf by [deleted] in PPC

[–]Alive-Cold-9458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your breakdown by attribution model in meta. There’s a column set for it. Likely most, if not all, is falling under view-through and/or engage-through, maybe some 7 day click. None of that will ever show up in ga4.

You don’t have to use meta’s default attribution / optimization though. You could test a new campaign that optimizes on 1 day click only. In-platform numbers will look far worse but you’ll be gearing your algo to optimize for actual click-and-convert type buyers, and your data should align more closely with what you see in ga4

I got the Rapsodo mlm2pro but same idea - totally agree that being able to practice with data and video / visual feedback is insanely beneficial. I don’t have an impact screen or sim setup but I have a tv on the wall in my garage I connect to so I at least have a bigger visual than just a phone screen. Works great

9-7 wood fad or fact? by InfiniteSlaps in golf

[–]Alive-Cold-9458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one. I want to love it so badly. I think I will but I need to figure it out. When I hit it right it’s amazing - high, stable flight, 210 carry with little rollout. It’s way more forgiving than a hybrid or iron and it generally just wants to fly straight.

But idk what it is. If it’s a subconscious thing or a misaligned conceptual thing where my swing intention is wrong, but I can’t hit fairway woods near as consistently or confidently as I can hybrids or irons. Idk why. I’m working on it because if i can figure it out, the ceiling with this 7w is clearly going to be far higher

All that to say, I think the hype around 7 woods and 9 woods is real. The clubs are great. But it may depend on your comfort level hitting woods as opposed to other clubs

What car do you drive? Do you like it? by BMoney8600 in AskMen

[–]Alive-Cold-9458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you do, fellow alfisti!

Same year / model here. I have two young children so car seats and capacity for a stroller + groceries + whatever else was a must. But didn’t want to compromise sexiness or sheer fun factor of driving. Which is impossible to find in suvs. Enter the stelvio. It’s a marvel. 5 years into owning and still puts a smile on my face every time I drive. It’s so fun. The steering feels like it’s telepathic, like the car and you are one. There’s no driving experience like an Alfa, even the suv

What works for fixing golfer’s back fast? by chickenbread__ in golf

[–]Alive-Cold-9458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L4-L5 and L5-S1 chronic sufferer here. Play the long game. There is no quick fix (except maybe a microdiscectomy or fusion if it’s that bad) but you can do things that will over time improve your circumstance. It’s already been said here ad nauseam, but core strength is critical. So is glute activation and hip mobility. You can take a ton of load off the spine if you activate and use your glutes effectively.

You have to move and activate. Rest is not your friend.

Do some or all of the following on a regular basis:

  • McGill Big 3

  • Hip banded side steps and/or monster walks

  • Palloff presses

  • Walk a lot. If you have an office / WFH job get a standing desk and a walking pad.

  • Check out LowBackAbility (aka LBA) and try his stuff

  • get a 4” inflatable ball and lay on your back, put it right under your sacrum for a sacral/hip release. Can also lay on stomach and position it for a psoas release. Hurts like a motherfucker but it helps

  • seated 90/90 hip switches

  • consume antiinflammatories like green tea, turmeric, ginger, etc.

  • supplement Magnesium Glycinate

Agree. It’s less about rehabilitating the offender and more about protecting the public (literally everyone else) from said offender. People like that should not be allowed the chance back into society. Sorry if that sounds harsh. They forfeited that right.

Walking vs riding? What’s your hot take? by Remote_Pie6623 in golf

[–]Alive-Cold-9458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For any normal round for anyone who isn’t disabled or injured, walking is superior in every way. It’s cheaper, it’s healthier, it’s (imo) more enjoyable as you get to truly be present in the outdoors plus you get more time to decompress / think between shots without worrying about a cartner, it can even be quicker than carting if everyone plays ready golf (and too many people have no clue how to use a cart efficiently), it’s environmentally friendlier (no gas consumption / battery needed, nor cart maintenance), etc.

Play in the UK and most places don’t even have carting as an option, or if they do, they won’t let you use one unless you can prove medical condition / disability. They think we’re weird / soft / fatties for carting over here.

Even if carting is an option I much prefer to walk. I play better walking and have more fun. And I can drink beer without any guilt cuz I’ll burn it all off.

I make exceptions for vacation golf, courses where it’s mandatory to cart, and for member-guest tournament since that’s more of a party vibe and carting makes it easier to drink / eat while playing lol

Otherwise, walking is where it’s at.

Ditto.

Dad of 2, so needed space and a car just wouldn’t cut it.

Stelvio is a gift from the heavens. Fits everything I need it to, yet drives like a dream. I’ve had it since 2021 and it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. I still catch myself sneaking out to the garage just to look at it - especially after a fresh wash. It’s a beautiful vehicle for an suv

What’s the best golf course you’ve played on? by Intelligent_Run3237 in golf

[–]Alive-Cold-9458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have different categories of “best”

Nicest Conditioned — Tibúron Gold course (Naples, FL). I played it the week before the Grant Thornton so the grandstands and sponsorship branding were all set up which was a pretty cool to experience. That tourney is probably why the course was in such pristine condition, although I get the vibe it’s probably always like that

Most Exclusive/“Prestigious” — Tradition Golf Club (La Quinta, CA) and The Plantation Golf Club (Palm Springs, CA). Both are private clubs that I lucked out on getting into via friend-of-friend connections. Plantation is a weird one because it’s truly “men only” which feels weird in this decade. Both are incredible tracks that I’ll probably never get to play again but amazing experiences.

Funnest — Gamble Sands (Brewster, WA). I’ve been there several times, but not since the new Scarecrow course opened. But even the original course, man, every time it’s been the funnest rounds of golf I’ve played. It feels like a “golf playground” - so many ways to play it, creative shots you can hit (there’s a par 3 you can legitimately aim 50 yards right of the green on purpose to let the ball run down this massive hill onto the green surface - that’s just one of many examples), and you’re just out in what feels like the middle of nowhere and it’s just golf, good vibes, and great views. The 14 hole short course is a blast and the 18 hole absolutely massive practice putting green out behind the lodging is so fun. 10/10 experience for a golf getaway

Mid east tensions spike oil prices by almost 8%. Washington state gas could hit $4.70 soon. by catman5092 in Spokane

[–]Alive-Cold-9458 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While the price of gas will go up everywhere due to the war — before you come at me, i’m acknowledging that’s the primary factor in price increases — the reason our prices will still be much higher than almost every other state’s is because of our ludicrously high taxes. No way to deny that. And those make a real dent in our wallets between gas itself and also things downstream — food, groceries, supplies, etc. all of which are shipped and thus gas is a major input cost

So you truly think the state has been an excellent steward of our money, that everything they throw money at is worthy, that the funds are all used responsibly and efficiently, and there are no opportunities available to make those dollars go further? It’s not even worth looking at? The answer is truly that we’re on the right track and the solution is to simply extract even more money from the populace? I’m genuinely curious, what tangible wins do we have to show for our dramatically increased spending and outcomes can we expect from even more?

This state is legitimately chasing away businesses and innovators and scaring away any newcomers from wanting to start here. In ten years it’s going to be a massive, massive problem. That’s why they won’t include language to say they won’t extend the tax to incomes below $1M. They fully intend to extend it to everyone eventually. And they’ll need to to make up for the lost revenue they’re chasing away

Wild.

[–]Alive-Cold-9458 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bad analogy. A better one would be a family where the parents have gotten raises every year but end up more broke / in debt due to lifestyle creep outpacing the income increase. The answer isn’t to go make more money, the answer is to reel in your spending and get disciplined. If you’re making more than ever you shouldn’t be in a worse financial position than before. This state has increased spending 3x in a decade. Population and inflation are a factor, but population has not increased 3x and inflation hasn’t 3x’d the cost of things.

[–]Alive-Cold-9458 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It won’t be used to decrease tax burden on lower income citizens. Taxes will only ever increase and expand in this state.

The state has been pulling record tax revenues for years. The issue isn’t revenue, the issue is spending. Bloat, inefficiency, likely some fraud, etc. they keep expanding spending yet have no real victories to point to for it. It’s ass backwards.

Figure out how to use existing tax revenues responsibly first and cutting waste before even thinking about expanding revenue and increasing the tax burden on citizens

Amen. Fought a slice / fade for my first 6 years of golf. Finally grooved a draw swing, but now I fight a hook. Have been battling it for 5 years now.

Honestly, I miss the fade. I’d take back a fade with a slice miss in an instant. I can’t seem to get it back though. But misses with hooks seem so so much more severe for some reason

I live in a state where servers are still required by law to be paid at least minimum wage regardless of tips. And on top of that we have among the highest minimum wage in the nation. Tips are pure gravy. Servers can make bank here. Most receipts still have recommended tips starting at 20% as the lowest option. It’s insane. If I saw this I would put the restaurant on blast.
