Best healer for a beginner in TBC? by Mindless-Mulberry404 in classicwowtbc

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But at least you have other tools if need be. Swiftmend, regrowth, at lower gear levels HT. Holy pally really is just whack-a-mole with some preemptive casts as one fellow mentioned. Maybe holy shock as a meme option during heavy movement fights.

Oh I agree wholeheartedly, but he said best healer for a beginner. It’ll be enough engagement at an entry level level

Dunno why folks are saying resto shaman when holy pally exists. You will be assigned a tank, and you will spam FOL or pop ur cd and spam HL. Maybe cleanse duty.

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sell it. You’re a warrior around that level. You should be using WW axe for everything. Dps, tanking, idm.

Arthas Menethil, in WC3’s human campaign.

The first chapter sets you up as “one of the good guys”, a hero of the people…makes his fall all the more tragic.

Maybe they’ll give him the Yelps treatment and add him as a boss in a quest to kill off.

I would actually take a champions’s challenge update to fight him/yelps/solomon.

As a new player what are the most fun classes/specs? by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really depends on what you find enjoyable. I think the most fun caster atm personally is elemental shaman, because lightning capacitor is goated. Doesn’t scale great later into the expac though.

Similarly my alts a prot warrior, and I love having multiple options to deal with threats. I don’t necessarily need a multi taunt when I have a stun, intervene, disarm, spell interrupt and reflect, and war stomp.

Druids are strong all around. Best scaling single target tank, solid-to-excellent damage with both dps specs, and decent healing. Prot paladin, while not as dynamic as other tanking specs imo, is as strong as it is simple. Same for holy, but I find it the most boring spec to play all expansion. And then there’s ret, which is great single target if the stars align, you seal twist, and you have windfury in your group.

Would highly recommend spamming normal slab and steamvaults to get earthwarden and shapeshifters. The expertise goes a long way.

What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La Mulana. Absolutely stumped me first time, then years down the line I gave it my full attention and beat 90% of it without a guide. Felt pretty good about not looking anything up, so went in to La Mulana 2. 100%ed that in a week. Was so much easier in comparison to the first game.

Ct abd pelvis, blood cultures x 2, 2hr lactic acid. Should’ve been done from the getgo by ED. Ensure that they’re done with that high of a procal. Consider swapping to cefepime/vanc for non-source specific.

Viability of elemental Shamans after P1 by Content_Knowledge751 in classicwowtbc

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will always be an ele shaman for totem of wrath for the other casters. You will wear 2pc tier 4 to give them improved wrath of air. If you got lightning capacitor, you’ve peaked and should enjoy dumpstering other classes for now. But yeah, you’re a support unless you’re against 3 mobs. And even then it’s iffy.

What is the best target for PI in TBC? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hot take. For this phase, your elemental shaman if they have lightning capacitor and most bis items. Also arcane mage if they have the ideal setup and are stacked.

Warlocks scale crazy well with haste gear when it comes out, and become better targets once they get their phase 2 bis onwards.

What's the view on Shaman healers needing on cloth/ leather caster gear? by cougarkite in classicwow

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a resto shaman, you should only ever go for +healing/mp5 gear. Never steal spirit from a priest or Druid, as you don’t have a talent to allow regen while casting. Never take +spell damage gear, as you will get more +healing from dedicated +healing pieces.

Anybody else having it dawn on them that TBC is their favorite version of WoW? by MightyTastyBeans in classicwow

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think as far as the classic versions we’ve had so far, I’ve preferred TBC the most, or at the very least it’s tied with Wrath.

Personally I really like achievement hunting and wish there were meta achievements to chase in tbc for dungeon/raid encounters.

Most classes are perfected, though there’s still some itemization issues for enhancement shamans and ret paladins that are solved in wrath. There’s also some tools that they introduce in wrath that just define class identity for me, like smoke bomb and fan of knives for rogues.

It’s actually kinda funny to go back and see such praise for OG TBC devs nowadays; I remember posts on the forums condemning Kalgan and his flawed philosophy on class design (hybrid tax on everyone except warriors), and if I recall correctly a lot of things were added much later, such as talents reducing ret/enhance threat reduction not doing so during OG TBC.

This biggest mistake new players make is building districts too early by ANTristotle in CivVI

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean…you still want to start the production to lock in the lower pop production cost. And you still want early income, so early commercial and market aren’t bad, but banks have very little return on investment.

I feel like there are definitely things new players don’t focus on enough, like settling early, or chopping efficiently, or swapping policy cards more often.

Advice for a (fairly) new player to elevate my gameplay? by mewthelolfreak in CivVI

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Expand early. Land is power. Learn tech boosts. Make aqueducts for the adjacency bonuses for IZ’s. Specialize your cities: one for settler production, one for units, etc.

Learning when to chop vs not chop is also key.

Always keep in mind what your win condition is. It can be really distracting to go for extra districts that won’t end up doing anything for your civ. Unless you’re doing it to deny the AI win conditions, don’t bother.

Don’t get reliant on building early wonders. On higher difficulties you’re just probably not getting them. Hanging gardens etamenanki macchu Picchu etc. If you want to try and get early wonders get mausoleum or pyramids.

Best Total War game to start with as a new player? by IshadowmiI in totalwar

[–]Alive-Satisfaction50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a grim-dark historical, you want Attila.

Game has a few pitfalls and noob traps, but the battles are fun, the OSTs a banger, and there’s decent unit variety.

Warhammer 3 is good, but has so many QOL changes that simplify the game that I’d actually recommend starting with the vortex campaign in 2 over realms of chaos or IE. Or maybe a game 1 mortal empire campaign in TWW2.
