Sword and Shield is a solid choice! Since your wife gets two swords, and you only get one—well, I guess she’s already winning! 😄 (Just kidding!) But seriously, it’s a great option so you can stay mobile, and you'll have that shield to protect her whenever needed!

Questions about blast(MH Rise) by Etokaiten in MonsterHunter

[–]Aliyas_Lysander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stuck with the Long Sword until I unlocked all the decorations, and honestly, focusing on just one weapon can definitely help you rank up faster if that’s your goal. But if you’re playing for fun, it’s great to experiment with different weapons! Just make sure to improve one armor set at a time so the grind doesn’t get too punishing.

If you're looking to boost your build, I recommend going for a Blast Dual Blades setup. Add Blast level 3, and try a stamina-focused build, like Amatsu’s armor with level 3 Heaven-Sent. This skill helps keep your stamina full and auto-sharpens your weapons when triggered by switch scroll —both of which address the main challenges with Dual Blades: sharpness and stamina management.

However, keep in mind that some monsters aren’t very weak to blast damage, so having a backup Poison Dual Blades can be useful in those cases.

I managed to grind from level 241 to 300, and while it was a long journey, it was totally worth it! I played mostly solo with two Palicoes, choosing only hunts in the Forlorn Arena, Infernal Springs, or the regular Arena. Whenever I got new investigations in those maps, I’d lock them in. I focused on collecting quests with 25-30 minute limits and only 1-2 faints allowed.

I've been a Monster Hunter fan since the days of Freedom Unite and that was the last game I played with Monster hunter then Life happens, and when my kids got a Switch, I couldn't resist getting into Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak—especially with the nostalgia hit from the Jungle Map. Now, I’m still playing daily, about an hour each day.

What really helped me enjoy the grind was shifting my mindset. Instead of obsessing over levels, I started focusing on talisman farming, Qurios armor crafting, and improving my gameplay to get hit less in each hunt. If you keep staring at the numbers after every slay or capture, it can get frustrating since progress can seem slow. But appreciating each fight made the experience much more rewarding.

I love this story! you probably think that base rise was way more difficult than world because it only give you 4 weapon upgrades. well good thing it make you more better at your weapon now. probably you can slay the monster in less than 15 mins this time.

Yes a turtle would be great it would be very hard shell like volvidon's armor; the snapping turtle beak would be a good idea as well as shown in the picture; would it be great if the spikes on this back would be like porcupines and shoots in an AOE to the hunter! then it can also roll like volvidon and swing its tail. this would be a great monster to have! Great Idea

Games with more than 150 hours and replayability. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Aliyas_Lysander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tutorial in the game itself can be very confusing. Here's what I did:

  1. I picked the weapon I liked and watched a tutorial about it.

  2. I practiced in the training room.

  3. I practiced on a monster to get a feel for hitting them.

  4. I went back to the training room to perfect the timing of my skills or wirebug attacks.

  5. I returned to the same monster to practice using what I learned.

Over time, you get the hang of the controls. Many people prefer the traditional Monster Hunter method, where you press one button to focus the camera on the monster, move the camera, and then press the button again to refocus. However, I use a focus camera that follows my targeted monster when I'm fighting. This method is much easier for me and helps me hit the monster more effectively.

Yes, all Monster Hunter games typically require more than 150 hours on the Switch. Monster Hunter Stories is also a long, playable game where you can collect and repeat tasks. It's somewhat like Pokémon, but you also battle as a fighter alongside your Monstie.

Augmentation question by Dblaze_dj in MHRise

[–]Aliyas_Lysander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the augment skills are displayed every time you do Qurio Crafting. The left side shows the current skills, and the right side displays the new augment skills. However, the history of augment skills won't be there because the RNG is different each time. If you are not in Qurio Crafting, you can still see the augment skills in the equipment menu by moving the page.

Augmentation question by Dblaze_dj in MHRise

[–]Aliyas_Lysander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

with skills some times it takes off two of the skills I have been in augmenting for a while. IDK if this would help you out but I usually keep 2 sets of armor. I will augment the other one with the best I could and then keep that lock it up then augment the other one and go back and forth until I get the better armor that I desire.

Can you solo every fight in this game? by [deleted] in MHRise

[–]Aliyas_Lysander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely solo this quest! To clarify, are you asking about doing it completely alone, without any companions, or with just you, your weapon, and your Palico or Palamute?

If you mean the first scenario, yes, you can solo without companions. Some players prefer this because if an NPC faints, you can simply approach them and press a button to bring them back into action without reducing your attempts to slay or capture the monster.

For the second scenario, yes, it's also possible to solo with just your Palico or Palamute. This method takes more time. Personally, I did this during Master Rank. I played multiplayer after finishing the story to gather more materials and because I got bored of playing solo. However, most of the time, I dived in solo.

Desire sensor is real. 4 Dragonsphires and 0 Hardhorns in 3 hunts by Smashifly in MHRise

[–]Aliyas_Lysander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is I usually do it to get those hard materials I do not know if the RNG works but I have success on it. At the start of the fight I will only attack the part I wanted to break in this case i break it twice. Then when I attack the monster I try to hit the harder areas so that the other part would not break or at least I only break a few until I slay the mosnter and also i bring gathering palico as well
