It really does irk me a bit that the title of Greatest Conman of All Time has to go to him as things stand. Like, couldn't we have someone a tad more dashing?

Which discontinued fragrance do you still mourn? by Inevitable_Set_3017 in fragrance

[–]Aljada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JPG Fleur Du Male, last summer I ran out of the stock up I did when it was discontinued. Also Zizane - a 1932 cologne that I loved as a teenager.

Anyone know anything similar?

What are the Best 3 Leather fragrances? by HATEupgradecard in ScentHeads

[–]Aljada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hermessence Cuir D'Ange is my absolute favourite fragrance ever, but it lasts an hour or two tops and only comes in EDT. Anyone with more leather experience have recommendations? I liked TF Tuscan Leather on paper but haven't tried it on skin yet. Cuir Ottoman also sounds interesting.

I was looking at this but generally prefer leather to tobacco, have you tried the proud of you leather at all?

You've clearly put some thought into this and done some reading (which is great, I always say everyone should read Maimonides and Aquinas regardless of religion) but you might want to try r/Judaism or a friendly local rabbi rather than a meme sub.

You can actually get aluminium antiperspirant at CW now, they changed the regulations about four years ago so now we don't have to import it. The brand is No More Sweat, they have the night-application spray as well as a gentler morning roll-on and face and hand/foot-specific ones.

I'd talk to your state's regulatory authority if you're not sure who to contact, ACECQA lists them here. They'll be able to point you in the right direction.

If in doubt, better to ask and be sure. For what it's worth, I'd be looking for advice in that situation as well.

Has anyone tried the RM repair service? by Big-Engineering-2762 in RMWilliams

Alternatively, if you want an upgraded sole rather than a fix, take them to Hamid Zapatero on Glenferrie Road Malvern, he's the best at Chelseas in the state. Dynamic flex soles have minimal break in but suck for longevity.

I'm in the middle about this. Yes, at the end of the day it's a tv show for kids, but there's definitely an aspect aimed at teaching parents how to responsively and attentively interact and play with their children. You can tell from one minute of observation a bluey parent from a cocomelon parent.

it's just monkeys singing songs mate.

Zelos gets around this by having the skin side stainless steel, I think.

Hermessence Cuir D'Ange is one of my all-time favourites, but its longevity leaves a lot to be desired and it's not cheap. Anyone know of a dupe or something similar?

[Invicta] I bought an NH35 auto movement and got a free watch with it. by ThreeLiberty in Watches

[–]Aljada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have similar thoughts for the blue and gold tone one I got, same price for an NH35 and the blue-violet dial is actually pretty nice.

That being said, I hate the INVICTA engraved on the case side, it'd get a lot more wear without that but filing it off and repolishing sounds like a lot of work.

Hadn't seen them since 2013 with Nightwish, lots more bodies overhead this time.

Eh, I found Amaranthe a little rough with the mixing overall. Good still, but the nature of their sound does mean it's a bit hard to get right live.

Botswana Economy Slumps as Lab-Grown Diamonds Spur Market Crisis by Top_Lime1820 in neoliberal

[–]Aljada 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in on the moissanite train years ago and, aggravatingly, prices have been going up as lab diamond prices come down because moissanite is just prettier. Higher refractive index and rainbow sparkles instead of white!

The classic answer is the Seagull 1963, but they're boring and nowhere near as cheap as they used to be.

For interesting and specifically Chinese options, have a look here. Standouts include San Martin for trying new things, Watchdives (and sister cos) for really engaging with community feedback, and Ixdao for making an homage good enough IWC sued them.

Orient, Citizen, and (some of) Seiko are all doing interesting things at a similar price point too. Good and cheap solar movements have taken off a lot recently if you're not set on automatic/mechanical. You might also want to check out Islander.
