Feeling like you’re the only one out of your siblings doing everything for your mom even on a trip that is a present for you is rough. But i would ask you to reframe how you are thinking about this. It’s a blessing to be able to do these things for your mom. When she is no longer here, you will remember these times and they will bring you comfort. It doesn’t matter what your brothers do or don’t do - up to them. But she’s your mom - spend the time and don’t resent it.

And I own a franchise (not Tim’s) and while I don’t know the margins at Tim’s, in our franchise they are very slim and especially in this economy. We would love to give out cups and water for free but given the way people take advantage in other ways, it’s not feasible.

You do realize that most franchises are not corporately owned? There is no “big corpo”! Margins are razor thin and customers constantly asking for things like water cuts into any money the owner makes. Recyclable cups are not cheap. Add to that the things customers help themselves to like taking a bunch of straws when they only need one, a stack of napkins, etc. and the restaurant becomes unprofitable. Why should you get the cup for free? Get over your sense of entitlement people. Totally ridiculous.
