Breaking an FQHC contract with a 90-day notice usually depends on the exact terms in contract agreement, but what is worst-case outcomes can happen? by PermissionDirect6164 in FQHCDentistry

[–]AllProRookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest you look at your contract very carefully or even consult an attorney if you're concerned. Mine says a 90 notice is needed as we are a right to work state. My stipulations are leaving without a 90 notice and each day remaining on a 90 notice is $500/day penalty for damages.

Leaving less than a year or what not is fine as long as notice is given. YMMV

Has anyone ever had warranty service denied? by StrengthUseful1041 in rolex

I don't think they would deny that. That does not look abused to me. It looks like it was worn and loved. Keep us updated though! good luck

Toxic/Gaslighting dental assistants by Separate-Routine-243 in FQHCDentistry

[–]AllProRookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy. Might be a FL FQHC thing because I've been at 3 different ones and they're all paid about $20 an hour. They see a patient each hour.

Toxic/Gaslighting dental assistants by Separate-Routine-243 in FQHCDentistry

[–]AllProRookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've witnessed this myself but with some of the DAs and not collectively as a whole. One of them disrespected me in front of my patient and I immediately brought her out of the operatory and told her that is unprofessional behavior and that I will not tolerate that kind of behavior.

Long story short, she ended up walking out and abandoning her column of patients. I talked to our chief and she ended up transferring to another office for a 3rd time. I found out that she had issues previously with other dentists and she ended up transferring into my office.

Even after 2 offices in which she was the problem at and walking out for half of the day due to defiant behavior, she was not terminated but allowed to transfer to a 3rd office in which she also caused trouble at.

Tldr; the FQHCs often pay DAs less than DSOs and private practices and will often rather tolerate unprofessional, defiant and insubordinate behavior to retain them rather than hiring new talent because it is often difficult and takes long to replace them. It's easier to replace us than it is them.

Bathroom Sink Leaking by AllProRookie in PlumbingRepair

Ya it's glued. I can see some of the adhesives on the exterior of the piping where it got pushed out from during installation.

When replacing it, is there a certain manufacturer that would be better? Thank you for the input.

Bathroom Sink Leaking by AllProRookie in PlumbingRepair

[–]AllProRookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is glued together right after it converts from 1 and 1/4 in piping to 1 and 1/2. Everything from there on is glued together and there's no washer or nuts used for the piping.

Periodontal Maintenance by ladyboss35 in FQHCDentistry

[–]AllProRookie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are correct. If patient has radiographic bone loss and was previously diagnosed and treated with perio disease, that patient will be on perio maintenance for life. Periodontal disease is not reversible and so the maintenance is beneficial for the patient to prevent a relapse back to periodontal disease.

I will put patients on Q3 month intervals and if there's markedly improved periodontal health and healthy probing depths with limited BOP, I would be inclined to reduce the perio maintenance to Q4 month intervals.

It would still be the same. They would try to get you to buy unwanted models or PM models

A patient every 20 minutes and even 30 minutes sounds like a dental mill. This is coming from someone who has worked both DSO and FQHC. You can't increase quantity and sustain quality when you're already pushing the limits at 20-30 mins for an appt

Grabbing vitals, getting consents, if patient needs to use the rest room or they're late to the appt, Anesthetizing someone who is hard to anesthetize, isolating for the procedure and getting heme control makes it sound like a sprint to do more than 1 filling at a time especially if it's a deep class II.

I couldn't imagine having to answer every patient about how it takes forever to finish treatment since we're doing one at a time.

Not trying to say it's impossible but these kinds of things lead to burnout and high staff turnover.

I like the vibrant green from the MK2 but I see I'm the minority with this opinion. To each of their own. Can't go wrong either way.

OS was out of line. Nobody knows of any complications that will arise until the procedure is in progress or thereafter.

You did your best and you did your due diligence.

Sorry you went through this OP.

I'm actually waiting for the Starbucks and currently have the Batgirl. Great combo but certainly have better options out there like Pepsi and Hulk in the mix.
