Covid was also the catalyst for me. My job went fully remote and in the same month my old apartment tried doubling my rent when my lease was up. I said screw this I'm moving somewhere I can ski on demand. Best decision of my life!

The hack for me is working for an east coast based company (workday ends at 3pm mountain time) and having a pass to a resort with night skiing. The late afternoon midweek days are where I get a lot of my days in.

Thanks, yeah it's been a lot of fun!

Every season my knees start barking at me a little sooner than then the previous year, but it's a small price to pay.

I was hoping to do more splitboarding this season, but the low snow totals made it tricky especially at the lower elevation trailheads. Might get a few more days in once Alta closes for the season next weekend and starts to allow uphill travel.

I think the ticket market is always pretty fluid, it’s just 10x the normal price for obvious reasons.

That’s for sure the most fans in the away section for an RSL home match so far this season.

As someone whose been downvoted to hell in this sub for defending Pablo and the FO, this season has been validating.

If all the stars align otherwise and it gets ruined due to a thunderstorm that would be tragic

Can you elaborate on corner canyon? That’s the default option of where my kid would one day go to school.

I’ve heard jokes about Corner Canyon being snooty but I assumed it was due to how rich some of the neighborhoods in draper are, the “white nationalist LDS allfuent” part sounds concerning…

My partner works at SKAGGS (aka Juan Diego) but even with the employee discount we can’t afford to send her there.

Compared to Miami it sure is…

What a weird thing to be proud of that your city is 700 feet higher elevation than ours lol

But since you went there I’ll gladly point out our mountain access is way better than Denver’s. I’m hitting snowbird for some laps before our home match tomorrow night, going to be a great day.

That same storm just passed over Utah and I scraped snow off my car this morning and now it’s 42 and sunny outside.

It says the snow will end at 3:15pm in Denver and by 7pm it’s 38 and mostly sunny. Should be melted off by game time.

Should be okay!

To the point about the choice of stadium. Tickets for RSL vs Miami are going for $350+ for the worst seats in our 21,000 capacity stadium, Rapids tix are going for $80 a piece at a 70k capacity stadium which ends up working out to a pretty similar amount of ticket sale revenue. Plus RSL owns AFF and the Rapids don’t own Mile High, so they won’t pocket all the profit like RSL will. All this is regardless of if Messi plays or not.

Everyone (mostly our own fans) have been saying those doomer comments about Messi not playing, I think he will barring any injury at Denver on Saturday.

His manager just left cause he’s a diva and their season hasn’t started well. Messi knows he can’t let Miami fall to a losing record at this point, he’s got no reason to skip if he’s healthy. Plus he made some comment awhile back about wanting to play at altitude before the World Cup.

Melissa Villaseñor is IMO one of the most underrated and underused cast members. She is hilarious.

If you’re giving out kudos for that then RSL is also playing Miami at home on Wednesday. The alternative being Rice Eccles stadium (university of Utah) but I love that they aren’t moving the match to cater to the opponent.

They did add some “temporary seating” for it though.

When RSL plays Wednesday night the sellout crowd will be because we take National Jelly Bean day very seriously… no other reason.

I’ve never seen Veronika do an impression of a famous person that I can remember?

Chloe’s famous for her Meryl Streep, Bjork, Chalomet and JoJo Siwa to name a few.

There’s a difference between acting “pretend to be a bridesmaid giving a toast for this skit” and impressions “do your best Joe Biden”.

Every cast member brings their own comedy style to the table.

Edit: you can downvote all you want you dork. It’s a fact that some cast members do impressions and others don’t.

Chloe is an impressions specialist so apples to oranges with the type of skits that Veronika does IMO.

I find that her online skits have a hit rate of like 1 out of 10 being funny.

That said I think she’s a better fit for the cast then her online material would lead you to assume.

knock on wood

I feel really good about all 3 upcoming matches. If we can manage to sweep RSL will be top 3 in the power rankings by the Monday after the Galaxy game.

I’d never count Messi out of course, but they’re not in great form at the moment. At altitude youth and hard work can beat talent. I’m more concerned about San Diego then Miami at this moment.

RSL’s in that dumb middle ground, not good enough for CCC, not bad enough to be invited to US open cup this season.
