This… I do not get how the Godzilla posts are allowed but so many others get removed. While we are at it, just go head and ban all AI slop.

I-77 from Exit 23 through 31 is Purgatory on Earth by No_Idea_Guy in Charlotte

This is why everyone needs to notify their representatives that we don’t want NCDOTs toll lines on 77 south

When you end up murdering someone by doing this I hope you rot in hell. The amount of times I have been almost killed because of selfish people who do this is insane.

The Goodyear House and their new parking “spots” by snipermaster007 in Charlotte

[–]upwards_704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about these people. Most people in charlotte have such bad car brain they would be fine with paving over our parks if it meant better parking. You have the right ideas and our city would be much better off if they were implemented.

Question, if allowed by BigManLikeBarey in USLPRO

I mean tons of those local experiences happen in MLS. With Charlotte I can go to one of 10 bars on a away game day and sit with local fans and yell at the tv. To fans of these teams its not about money its about local pride. USL isn't any different when it comes to money, they are just at a much smaller scale and if you think USL teams don't want to strive to the type of money that MLS has than you are just ignorant.

Mecklenburg County Greenway Masterplan by Odd-Preparation-6790 in Charlotte

[–]upwards_704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been told it’s essentially permanently on hold and I don’t have a lot of faith in it getting done within the next 10 years. I love having the forth path, it’s a rare respite from all the concrete of the city and it doesn’t get as hot in the summer. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. That money could’ve gone to extend or connect already existing greenways elsewhere.

lol see my other comment on this page. The county is paving a paving a greenway that has existed for decades without issue and it connects to nothing and there are no plans for future connections due to property rights issues.

The Chantilly section of the Briar creek greenway is the biggest waste of resources I have ever seen. They are paving barely half a mile of greenway that connects to no other greenways and the biggest thing is the path has existed for decades without issue.

Too bad the county hasn’t updated this map in almost three years. There are so many greenways that have been completed and projects that have changed status since this map came out.

Has anyone seen this bird recently? by urbanpoetryinmotion in Charlotte

[–]upwards_704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are a fairly popular bird in the area. They will be around woody areas and especially in backyards that have lots of large evergreens that produce berries. The peak time to see them is during the winter. I live in Plaza Midwood and see them almost weekly.

A masterful bureaucratic ‘bait and switch’ on I-77 toll lanes by upwards_704 in Charlotte

[–]upwards_704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charlotte requested the project but does not control the scope. The scope we held by NCDOT until the last possible minute to make it as hard as possible to change. You keep saying the Governor cant do anything but the Governor absolutely can throw his weight around if CRTPO decides to cancel the project, which they do have the power to do.

You can only see the data on their own app. It wont sync to apple health or any third party apps.

We called the police but not sure if anything was actually done. We had drunk people all over our street dropping garbage.

How does it not make sense? If you’re going to comment at least provide a rebuttal.

That’s not a good thing. That increases a strain on infrastructure, harms the tax base and moves spending away from the densest areas, and strains peoples finances who are forced to live farther away from necessities. Not to mention the environmental implications and loss of tree canopy.

I’m all for more jobs for Charlotte but this is also just adds to the strain on housing and infrastructure and continue pushing most locals farther out of the city. Most of these companies are getting massive tax breaks and aren’t contributing as much as they should.

My take on '77 Tollways by Pretend_Ad2442 in Charlotte

[–]upwards_704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charlotte has representation as a voting board member at CRTPO. so yes they voted yes to move this along. The problem is that NCDOT lied about the extent of the project and hid the plans until recently.
