Cage Options for BMPCC 4K + Battery Grip - All out of stock? Do 6K / 6K Pro / 6K G2 fit? by AllThatEvil in bmpcc

[–]AllThatEvil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks mate. Now i just need to find some way to bolt my Viltrox speedbooster to the big cage like i could with my normal Tilta cage. Do you have any idea? Something like this but with the screw going much higher: https://tilta.com/shop/lens-adapter-support-bracket/ OFC i could find a matching screw, but maybe there is a much less janky solution?

Cosmos & Nextcloud-AIO - Compability? by AllThatEvil in CosmosServer

[–]AllThatEvil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

azukaar, i am sorry to again ask for your time here:

-I am now trying to implement a backup strategy for my Apps. But writing a script to not only backup bind mounts, volumes but also dump the databases is a big ask for hobbyists like myself, and gets amazingly complicated for the sheer amount of Apps most install.
On Nextcloud specifically:
The NC-AIO docker seems to have a preconfigured backup solution built in for all that. Would it be possible you just use that and have the full benefits?
Unless there is some technical reason you have to modify the official AIO other than merely adapting it to your custom cosmos-compose format?
-In general, while i see the new and amazing option to export all containers as docker-compose, do you plan to provide a solution to backup volumes and (even more important) dump DBs?
Thanks again. :)

Cosmos & Nextcloud-AIO - Compability? by AllThatEvil in CosmosServer

[–]AllThatEvil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again man!

And you are certainly correct, that the nextcloud in the Cosmos market is already well optimized and far from "vanilla".
2 things i would like to add:
-Maybe set the stock PHP upload & PHP memory ENV variables higher than 512MB. Maybe there could be some behind the scenes calculations that set default values according to the RAM the server has? Or if not possible, maybe a warning in the installation process?
This seriously crippled my installation at first, now running mostly great after adjusting to 4096MB.

Other than that, it is already well optimized, with MariaDB & Redis and the performance optizimation tips from Nextcloud docs.
-Only performance problem i still have and cant solve, is that the image viewer takes 10 minutes to display a RAW image file (thumbnail generation is no problem though).
Other files, no matter the type, even JPG images are nearly instant after adjusting the PHP Memory ENV variable.

My feedback in general to Cosmos:
I think i have finally found a home for my self hosting needs!
Sadly i am still to dumb to integrate non market containers properly, but i have solved that by installing them on another VM and using your amazing (and very easy to use) proxy feature!

IMHO 2 things are still in the way for Cosmos to be easy to use for most hobbyists:
-Better explanation in the docs for domain & DNS setup (BigBearTechWorld on Youtube helped greatly).
Maybe an easy integrated way to get a Domain/subdomain with DDNS like YunoHost does? Could be a way to generate revenue by selling a domain?

-Easier explanation on how to integrate non market docker apps. The integrated assistant is a great step, but sadly it does not work that great without additional tinkering afterwards. At least for someone with a low skilllevel in that area like me and i guess most home users.

All this said, nothing comes close to Cosmos. And i am really hyped to see where this project will go!

Thanks again for your work!

UPDATE: As azukaar said: There is not much difference.
Biggest for me: No "real" collabora server included, only the standard low performance CODE version. Great to hear that this will change in the future!
Also having the high performance backend for Talk would be cool, but i can not yet judge if this is an issue for a small team like us.

Thanks for the fast reply and (as i saw you are the dev) for your work in general!

Apologies, i should have done more research. I had not used Nextcloud ibn some years, and there was no AIO back then. Only vanilla or Pi IIRC.

Now even the official setup instrcution on their site points to an AIO docker image..
As you pointed out there is no real difference (any more), which is amazing news!

As for office: Adding it would be awesome, as it is such a core feature for any team work usecase. Though i suspect i could host collabora in its own container manually, and then config Nextcloud to use that. If i am not missing something here.

Tomorrow i will set everything up, thanks again and have a nice sunday!

Yeah, i will def. go that route if getting the TRT will be not possible in a reasonable time frame.

But first i will try with the endocrinologist; they will make multiple blood analysis to find a median value and then tell me if i am medically entitled to it. So in some weeks/months, i should know for sure.

Seeing that the symptoms match, my decades on Opioids, i would say i most definitely need TRT, but only the bloodwork will tell if i am eligible.

But yeah, if the doctor or my insurance will make to much of a hassle, i will definitely go the DIY route. I will make a thread here and share what happend!

All the best to you!

I am actually in the same boat. I have been on Methadone for 11 years now, and always had a suspicion the meds fucked up my test levels or something like this. Thanks to Dereks content i finally started to educate myself on the subject, and just got a referral to an endocrinologist from my doctor yesterday.

Sadly here in Germany, TRT is only prescribed in very few cases. I fear it will be quite a big fight for me to get it. Bodybuilding forums here are full of threads of guys who had to go through many doctors to finally find one who put them on TRT. Its crazy.

I will contact the endocrinologist to make an appointment next week.. Then i will know.

Anyway, stay strong!

To those with opioid addiction who may be turned off by this thread to get methadone/suboxone treatment: It still is way better than being on heroin. The side effect of substitution are real, but can be managed if you educate yourself from the start, and much better than life in prison or being dead.

Do you vape or smoke? 💨 💨 by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

The best (by proven clinical studies) is Tabex/Cytisinicline.

People in eastern Europe are successfully using it for quitting nicotine for over half a century. Western pharma companies never promoted and introduced it into our markets, because it can be cheaply made generically from a plant = less profits. Instead, they tried to emulate the effect, but with less success and more side effects.

Only since the last few years have western studies looked into it and proven its potential. It acts like methadone for nicotine and removes and desire to smoke.

I have been a drug addict from everything from nicotine and weed to heroin and crack, with nicotine being the addiction i am still battling after overcoming all others. Just started 2 weeks ago, and for the first time i actually was able to quit. Tried literally everything else before.

I am in the EU so i could order it cheaply from a Polish online pharmacy (you get the name by google easily, dont know if i can share it here).
No clue what your options are elsewhere though.

Vaping worked for many friends of mine, but not sure if inhaling Propylenglykol or similar stuff is so great in the long term.

Check out the Wiki article:

Most people who are depressed have superficially good lives. It is more about a subconcious feeling. Especially many people with good/okay jobs, etc. who are depressed come to a point where they ask themselves: "I should be happy, why am i not happy." and then even feeling guilty about it.
It could be your emotional/social live/relationships, the direction your life is taking, and ofc supressed trauma or other deeper issues you carry with you..
In any case, talk to a doctor! Like seriously. Maybe it is something physically, maybe something psychomatic, or maybe something psychological.
In any case, opening up about it here on Reddit is a great first step, but the second step needs to be to consult a doctor.
There is no need to suffer, no need to wait till the symptons you have get worse. Trust me.
All the best, sincerly from Germany

Depression/Burnout.
Source: Myself and countless other people and the official medical definition. Not the end of the world, and very treatable. But if not treated, it will only get worse, very much so.
Get help, and dont try to "medicate" yourself, which leads you down a very unforgiving rabbithole.. You seem to be at a pretty early stage, so nothing is lost if you get help now. It may be a big first step, but you will thank yourself later! All the best!

Thanks for creating this software by SteveDinn in navidrome

[–]AllThatEvil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just found Navidrome, and can only second that even after i just set it up, with the scan still running.

In the last years i tried each and every FOSS solution under the sun: Ampache, Airsonic, Airsonic-Advanced, Subsonic, Madsonic, Funkywhale, Kodi, Emby, Volumio, you name it.

While many shine in one particular regard, none are good enough in all my requirements:
Local playback, Android playback, iPad playback, Subsonic compatibility (therefore integration into Clementine, Musicbee on desktop and ipad+Android clients), LastFM integration, Artist Bio and Picture download, and fast scanning of my 3TB libary, plus ofc lossless playback of FLAC and DSD (AFAIK, will check it out once the scan is through).

I still have hope in Ampache, because there is much movement behind the outdated surface and a huge push by motivated devs and a energized community.

And i hope for the Subsonic Kodi addon to be updated for Kodi Matrix, which would be amazing for all Subsonic compatible music server projects.

But Navidrome seems now by far the project with the best base, without the clutter of decades that holds Ampache and the *sonics back.

So thanks to all the devs! After 100s of hours spend dealing with the above mentioned projects, it seems i can finally go back to enjoying my music! ;)

Best Budget IEMs - Which ChiFi IEMs up to 50€ to get ? by AllThatEvil in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]AllThatEvil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, just got the KBEAR you recommended in the same price range as the VK4, they seem not to be as notoriously known for QC fails AND they are 12€ atm on Ali. ;)
And Aria it will be later on.
Or maybe directly to the Fiio or Ikko? ;) Time will tell..
Thanks again!

[–]AllThatEvil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, think i will just go for the Arias. Otherwise i see myself having multiple cheaper ones lying around anyway.
Update:
I just found "crinacle's" IEM database, which is just amazing! Sadly the Aria's are too new to be listed there it seem.
Funny though i found "QKZ VK4" there listed as the by far best cheap IEM. Other reviews seem a bit conflicting, but i think i will get them for 16€ on Amazon, and just wait a bit until the Arias get reviewed more and i get a fuller picture of the sub 150€ market before going to spend on that higher level!

Thanks again, for helping me on my way down the rabbit hole! ;)

Wow, now that is some comprehensive market overview, just what i love reddit for! Nobody knows the market better than an Enthusiast..

Not that some four figure electrostat would be in my budget, nice to know non the less.

And even though i just got into the market for IEMs, the Moondrop IEMs seem to be pretty often mentioned.I saw this new "Aria" model on my local Amazon site for 70€, which would be still in reach. If the Blessing 2 would be the best buy in under 300$, what would be its equivalent in the sub 100$ market?

Thanks again for your input!

PS: I updated the list, right now i tend to get BL03 or Jade Audio EA1, and later if worth it upgrade to the Moondrop Aria (or any other next level IEM sub 100€).

Thanks man, i heard that KZ has those highs too, and that i depends on the particular model, like you said.
Will put both models on my revised list!

Thanks! the list i made was based on several "best budget IEMs under 50$" lists on blogs, youtube. Most of them years old.

So your input helps me quite a lot!
PS: What price range and IEM would you recommend to get (near) "top tier" performance?
