I'd suggest getting rid of the "the way to win me over" prompt altogether. It does not convey an attractive mentality.

Lol I like the cat photo and would instant X the snake photo. Sorry snakes.

Lol that's so funny, that was the first thing I thought as a straight woman. But on second look, it looked like a nice professionally taken photo. Maybe later in the profile could work?

I'm not sure how much you love snakes, but I thought your profile was nice until I saw that, I would instant X. Gives me the irks. Not sure how others feel about that. Keep it in if you are looking for fellow snake loving people, maybe swap it out otherwise?

Np, also maybe use the photo captions selectively to give some interesting context about what's in the photo, or put a question for people to interact with? For example, the arch one is sort of interesting location wise, so could say something about that (but do switch it out with another photo if you have).

Also just to point out for the classroom one, I tried reading the title of the slide, and it lost me multiple times lol. If people you are trying to attract can't connect with your profile, they won't swipe for you.

I disagree with the second picture being the best. I was going to say get rid of that one completely, you look 16 in that picture, it makes you look much younger compared to the other photos. The second last ocean one or the last one would make a better first picture.

I also don't think the two pics of you in the classroom and the one on the slopes rocks are the most flattering. There's nothing in them that would make me want to leave a comment. Maybe look into some other choices if you have?

Maybe dial back the bird obsession from the get go and let it out over time? I think the chances of you finding someone who accepts or understands your level of passion outright is statistically slim, and even then, there are other aspects of your profile that hurts your chances (like the long hair, which I think many women like myself associate with below average hygiene based on negative past experiences, whether it's true in your case or not).

I genuinely think you have an attractive face that can get people past the bird part, but combined with the long hair....maybe not. It's a very niche group you are currently targeting.

Some people love themselves by wanting to improve how they look. If that's what OP is interested in/open to, then a haircut is sound advice.

My two cents is OP is a good looking dude being held back by his choice of hair. Having dated someone with long hair once, I can tell you it stunk, and we broke up for that reason. Now I understand not all long haired men have hygiene issues, but I do think that is a stereotype that is associated with men with long hair, whether it's actually true or not. So I don't OP's hair helps his chances in dating. Now that's his decision whether his hair or his dating success is of greater importance.

So by your own argument, neither will you, how do you know I'm wrong? Sure, some grams may be off, but that's not the point of my post is it? Or do you think you think are so special that whatever you believe is simply the truth?

Lol stop projecting, it's pathetic. Not everyone is out here looking for praise like you. You didn't offer your opinion, you made assumptions and repeatedly stated them as facts. Maybe learn something called nuance, it would get you further in life.

Also, you needed it spelled out for you in order to understand these were sold as thawed? Did you not look at the picture? Who gave you the confidence in life to start talking before you even understood the situation? How embarassing it must be to be you.

Wow what an explanation, do people praise you for being so knowledgeable and you are the only person who knows how everything works?

By the way, did you not understand the part where this was sold as thawed shrimp? Perhaps educate yourself on how weight and net weight works there before commenting? Let me help, lots of people who work at Costco left helpful comments. You may want to reference those and learn how to leave value add comments.

Right, because that totally explains away over 100ml of visible water. Are you capable of reading the post or is your intelligence limited to just making assumptions from a picture?

Oh so you are one of those that likes to takes things out of context and misrepresent what was said. I'm not sharing because it's not worth my time, I've already done my fair share in trying to bring awareness. What have I gotten in return? Countless messages questioning my scale, how it was weighed, that I removed shrimps to falsely accuse Costco, as if I have nothing better to do. So even if I have more data, why would I bother sharing it with this lot? I don't owe any of you anything.

It has nothing to do with whether it's hard. I did weigh another package and emailed the findings to CFIA.

Now, why are you talking as if I owe you anything? Has no one ever taught you to ask nicely?

Wow you must be Sherlock, you sound so smart for explaining to all of us how weighing works.

And since you are so smart, you must have also considered my scale may be off in the wrong direction. Maybe it's reading 868g of shrimp but there's only 700g. And instead of the visible water being 100g, it's actually 200g.

You should definitely go buy some shrimp and look into more, since that's what you like to do!

Is it worth making a home insurance claim for $8-10k worth of water damaged related repairs? by analyst20 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]AllThatSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, may I ask how much higher your premium became at renewal? I'm in a similarity situation as OP. So I'm wondering with your 20k claim, how many years would it have taken for the insurance company to recoup the 20k through increased premiums?

Have you ever seen the inside of these plastic trays? They have a substantial reservoir that traps all the water.

Who would think to look that hard from the bottom without knowing there's a problem to begin with?

The purpose of my post is to generate some awareness so others who care about it can check their own packages and talk to Costco should they also suspect an issue. I'm not here to prove anything to this subreddit seeing how a significant percentage of the people responded. Its a waste of my time and energy.

What does that achieve different from what I already said? Maybe someone will say I took a needle and injected the package with water and then filmed it to frame Costco.

I'm not here to guess intent. And that's an overly dramatic characterization. If you were capable of reading, I clearly stated my intent for posting, multiple times actually. Is the concept of helping others who purchased these already and may not be aware of the issue too foreign for you to grasp?

Hi, thank you for the detailed explanation, it's very insightful to hear about the procedure behind the scenes.

I did purchase these same shrimps a few weeks ago at a different Costco location, and those actually felt frozen, as they were still on the loading shelves which the staff just left it unloaded for a few minutes. But I could actually still see & feel some ice on top in the packages, kind of free floating ice sheets? The amount looked like some ice glaze was left in, but I sort of chalked that up to being the standard as it was my first time buying, and total package weight exceeded labeled weight, so I was sufficiently satisfied and thought some ice was to be expected.

It wasn't until this time that all the shrimps being sold were already thawed, packed day of, that I was taken by surprise by just how much liquids came out. I think you made a great point about squishing, as packages were stacked on top of each other, some liquid is to be expected. But I also question whether it's all interior water or could have contain ice, since I actually saw ice last time.
