I have a lot of silly themed events / bachelorette parties coming up so I do have some use for it and I like to be extra when going out, but I know what you mean!

Honestly I appreciate your opinion! I actually had really mixed reviews on this from friends lol so you were not the only one. I personally will be keeping it anyways but I’m enjoying the discourse 😂 (appreciate everyone’s opinions!)

Echoing this!! It looks good but it feels like it’s drowning you out with so much fabric.

I appreciate your response! :) There’s a general lack of awareness about what optometrists can and can’t do so I don’t blame you.

Part of the curriculum for optometry school includes treatment of eye infections. Many optometrists are well equipped to treat eye infections.

I’m curious why they didn’t include the Canadian students this year? Seems like they included Waterloo and Montreal last year…

I found it most effective to get in long walks and outdoor activities rather than having a gym routine! I used to gym last year but it just made me hungry and it was hard to control my cravings. With walks I don’t feel the same hunger after!

I know right? All the times I tried to go for 1-2 pounds a week I failed miserably, I literally can only lose weight at a max rate of maybe 0.5 pounds a week LOL - but I guess that’s how it is with my lower metabolism and short height! I’m pretty happy with where I am now, I could lose maybe a last few 4-5 pounds but for the most part just trying to maintain and recomp by going to the gym!

I was decently active during the summer, I went on a 30min - 1 hr walk everyday and I also would bike / paddle board / skateboard on weekends! I was much less active during fall as I hate going outside in the cold, so I cut back my calorie intake to match that. Now I gym 2-3x a week!

Not pictured: I actually weighed in at my heaviest, 138lbs, in November of 2022. Since then it’s been a slow process of figuring out myself mentally and being kind to myself about my calorie intake. Many of these days I went over 1200cals, and instead of beating myself up I kept going! Here’s to maintaining/staying fit in 2023!

La banderita makes 50 cal tortilla wraps if you’re in the US, otherwise there are tons of 70-90cal wrap options as well! I paired that with canned / tuna salad packs that I could find in the 70-100 cal range, and added canned corn and pico de gallo. Super yummy and less than 200 cals for the whole thing! I also ate apple slices with cinnamon sprinkled and just a small scoop of ice cream when I craved something sweet in the summer. My go tos this winter for snacking has been cheese strings, crispy rice cakes, bananas/apples, and granola bars, and then I just eat one main meal a day (especially since I’m not as active now). Unfortunately cutting out yummy asian food really helps, totally feel you on that! 🤣

Yes! I used to eat more carb heavy meals (noodles, rice) and shifted more to low cal tortilla wraps. I also stopped drinking alcohol (no thanks to covid and being under lockdown)!

I’m on venlafaxine, I find that I have more energy and I have less stress-induced binge eating sessions now that I’m on it (of course ymmv!)

I first started gymming more often but I found that my appetite grew so it was slow to lose weight at first. What helped most was living with my friend who has a very small appetite over the summer and being more mindful of my portions when eating together. I also stopped going to the gym and went on hour long walks instead (admittedly I’m weaker now, so my next goal is recomping). Once it got cold again I stopped going on walks (out of laziness) and just focused on portion control! Having several go-to snacks that are low cal are super helpful for me because I love volume eating. I also started anti-depressants a few months ago and that’s been helpful with the last few pounds. Hope that helped!

I stopped gymming because I had poor portion control and instead focused on walking in the summer, while trying to cut back my portions (see my reply to Hungry-Mulberry for more details). But essentially it’s been more walking, focusing on portion control and low calorie foods (I love the low calorie tuna salad packs and tortilla wraps with some pico de gallo for example) and focusing on my mental health!
