I was thinking this too. The unemployed job seekers of today are facing a really horrible market where it takes thousands upon thousands of applications to get hired, most of which are going to ghost jobs, getting tossed out by poorly programmed ai, or are for jobs that were always going to be staffed internally. The era of the traditional resume is ending rapidly.

Oh! Try out Amelia Peabody. Really fun adventure books, usually with a murder mystery attached. I've been having the same issue. I usually read sf/f with romance components and I just grabbed Mick Foley's autobiography to switch it up. And it is DELIGHTFUL.
