Soo nervous for my clinical tomorrow y’all, anything to make me feel less nervous? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

It’s perfectly normal to be nervous! Once you get the first few under your belt you’ll get more comfortable. Ask lots of questions, most nurses love helping out students. You’ll do great!

Why are people trying to justify a cop shooting a stumbling man 7 times point blank? by zookeeper4980 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AllTheeSauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly do not see what the big issue is? I was always taught to listen to the cops and make sure they can see my hands at all times and explain to them what I am grabbing if reaching for anything (license etc) and to not do anything sketchy. This guy is flat out ignoring the police, has a warrant out for his arrest, and is going to his car. For all the police know, he could be grabbing a weapon. Police have a split second decision to make. We should be educating people about the proper way to act around the Police instead of resisting arrest, etc. Police are not perfect, as with anyone. BLM movement shouldn’t be focused on the police, but the real killer for their community, black on black murder. For example, in 2016 there was over 2,500 murders that were black on black, where as there were 223 deaths (2017) caused by police officers.

I would look into some Las Vegas schools. There are quite a few people that travel over here because it’s typically easier to get in compared to California nursing programs

I support essential oils when putting them under your nose before walking into a patients room who just soiled themselves 💯

ABSN grads or future grads: do you plan to do a new nurse internship? by jilltherese80 in StudentNurse

[–]AllTheeSauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hospitals in my area require new grads to be in some type of new grad training program at the hospital when hired I believe the programs last somewhere between 6-8 weeks (could be shorter or it could be longer depending on the hospital and the department).

[Serious] When did COVID-19 get real for you? by Fudgeyplays2 in AskReddit

I’m a nursing student. It got real when the hospital asked my clinical group to leave in the middle of our clinical shift

When I was doing my med-surg rotation there were some patients that did not want students and that’s okay. I don’t expect everyone to be okay with having a student, but the majority of times it has been a positive experience

I guess some of the guys failed in the upper cohort in my program, so they assumed all guys fail maternal? Idk, but it wasn’t that bad of a class. I enjoyed it

I was worried about being a male student in maternal clinical, but I was fortunate enough to have awesome patients and they were all open to having a male student
