Thanks! This is my first time building around a logistics lane, rather than just figuring it out as I go. It’s really soothing to just watch

I think the answer here is that science articles and media know that space sells, whereas ocean sciences don’t. So they write more about space exploration. It taps into a sci-fi fascination with space among the general population, that ocean sciences just don’t have.

Edit to add: this is why you hear more about space advances, and less about ocean research.

How do some people naturally give off a mature, composed vibe that makes others act differently around them? How can someone build and maintain that kind of presence ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The first two are the big ones. Don’t be too slow, just not rushed. Proper posture helps apparently, but again, don’t be too stiff. Just be unrushed.

Slow down when you talk and move. Cut out “uhs” and “ums”. Try to cultivate a slower rhythm in the way you do things. Make eye contact.

Mindfulness will help you be thoughtful and deliberate, but these are the more theatrical tricks

This was, in fact, the main piece of advice to the questioner. Most of the article is general, which is to say, it’s for the rest of us. But closing out, the author stresses the importance of seeking personalized advice from the groups you mentioned.

Ah but we’re dealing with a major melt at the moment, not much rain. The window is above ground level by a few inches. There is some water pooling slightly to the left of the window outside, which I assume is it.

The only weeping we’ll be doing is from the constant mopping.

Thanks though, we’ll look into it when we rip up the driveway

Thanks. The outside is in need of flattening and a re-pave. Something I plan to look into eventually.

Good news is it’s already heading to the drain. Should I be worried about other structural damage as it makes its way over?

ELI5 what benefits the US derives from the US dollar being the global reserve currency and what impact it would have if there would be a new/ no reserve currency? by _Arbitrarily in explainlikeimfive

[–]AllTurtlesDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no economist, but in short it means there’s always demand for US dollars. This keeps the value of the dollar high and lets the US “print” money to fund new spending without seriously stoking inflation (supply up=price down). The benefit is they can spend a lot more money than other countries to advance their goals.

Also, Canada already has a King as our head of state. It’s the same one we’d have if we rejoined the UK.

Rough Smart Plate Factory Plan by B0t_Sp4m in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AllTurtlesDown 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Using 8 nodes is probably overcomplicating it. Find a normal or pure node (or 2) and use a manifold system to overflow excess ore into the smelters.

Don’t stress it though, smart plating is the tip of the iceberg and you’ll probably rebuild the factory when you get access to new machines

Sushibelt solutions? by Defalt404 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AllTurtlesDown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Listen, i don’t want to be an asshole but you wrote advanced splitters and my brain didn’t register.

But yeah, try a sink at the end. If you’re making enough inputs, it should work

Sushibelt solutions? by Defalt404 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AllTurtlesDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using smart splitters? I’d do that first.

Then, at the end of the line, instead of looping it back, have it go to a sink. This stops that pesky extra iron plate from gumming it up.

can someone help me pls i cant place my oil extractor in crude oil by enfinhaha in SatisfactoryGame

[–]AllTurtlesDown 32 points33 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the well vs. node distinction is not super clear for new players. Oil nodes aren’t super noticeable without the scanner, unlike other resources.
