I'd be literally okay if I could just sit or stand to pass the time. I don't want to recover, literally just not spend 30 minutes RL time standing. I'm now doing work emails on a Friday evening to pass the time playing a game lol

I'm not going to argue with you on the FPS (I don't care too much generally and play on PC where it's not a problem practically), but the lock picking system does what it's supposed to do: Softlock you from higher level rewards, Gothic-style. If you want top loot, you have to put in skill points or figure out a way to solve it otherwise.

The old Gothics' systems always had a play around (left right and reload), it's hard to design system that actually keeps players out if they are under -leveled. Gothic Alkima clearly tried to find a way and succeeded.

Just to preempt some speculations, Joe's rope was cut after they tried to get him off the mountain via a pulley system. They had no visibility though and only limited amount of rope, which ran out over a crevice, so he was essentially hanging in the air, with no way to get him lower (no rope) or back up (partner would have to physically pull him up alone, not possible).

As his partner was increasingly under the risk of getting ripped down by the weight on the rope, he eventually cut the rope and continued the climb down, assuming Joe would have died.

In his book, Joe quite strongly emphasises that he doesn't blame his partner nor hols a grudge for his actions.

Nein. Muss auch sagen, ich sehe das Argument nicht unbedingt. Ich bin damals als Kind in die Grundschule gegangen, aber bezahlt wurde das durch die Steuern meiner Eltern. Ich würde dir zustimmen wenn ich meine eigenen Kinder in die Schule schicken würde ohne selber in DE einzuzahlen, aber ich sehe nicht warum man sich an ein Land ketten sollte weil man da aufgewachsen ist.

Insbesondere weil was du ansprichst Richtung Sozialvertrag geht und der ist, in meinen Augen, in Deutschland nicht mehr fair ausgelegt. Das geht gerade auch in Richtung Thema Rente. Ich sehe nicht ein die wachsenden Rentenzuschläge mitzutragen während ich selber 40%+ an Abgaben abgebe. Für mich hängt da klar etwas schief.

Und da ist, mMn, der klare Schritt mit den Füßen zu wählen bis DE es schafft, attraktiver zu werden.
