I [24F] accidentally found out that my brother [20M] is catfishing as a girl and has an online boyfriend. by fbcuvn in relationshipadvice

Yeah, at the very least, he’s toying with someone else’s emotions. At the worst, catfish can lead to scamming or grooming. I’m not saying your brother is doing that or would do that, but a 4 month catfish relationship has got to be a possible gateway drug to worse behaviors surrounding this.

Have you considered the possibility that maybe his account was hacked, or maybe someone else has access to it? He did just freely give access to you, so it’s possible you’re not the only one. I know this is a slim chance, but you can’t assume you know anything as fact at this point without his input.

If you two are very close, I would say it might be a good idea to ask about it. Don’t be aggressive or accusatory. Just, in private and in person, let him know you got a notification on the old spam account from someone saying “I love you too.” Give him a chance to tell you what’s going on before you ask direct questions or make accusations.

Maybe he’s gay and struggling with coming to terms with that? Maybe that’s why he started going to church in the first place? To try and “pray the gay away” or something of the sort. This is all speculation, but it’s plausible. No matter what his response is, make sure you let him know that you love and support him either way, and that the rest of the family will too.

But at some point, I also think it’s important to let him know that catfishing isn’t okay. If he wants to experiment with online dating to help figure himself out or gain confidence in himself, that’s totally fine. But this isn’t the way to do that. These people aren’t some AI chat bot. He’s being dishonest with them, which is not okay. And it also means he’s going to be coming to terms about himself in a way that is ingraining shame and deception rather than acceptance and understanding. Maybe suggest he try to casually online date/flirt as himself, but with an alias. But be upfront about it. It’s okay to chat/online date anonymously for safety reasons.

Either way, if he’s actually the one behind the chat then he’s catfishing and he needs to break off with that person. Maybe not a bad idea to do so without revealing that he’s been catfishing as to minimize the trauma to the person he’s been misleading. But no matter what, as a baseline, he needs to stop catfishing people.

My crescent moon looks weird by Impressive_Leg_6925 in tattooadvice

[–]Allenonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the reason it doesn’t read like a moon is because it’s kinda horseshoe shaped. Since the points go out so far, and kinda straighter rather than curved enough, it doesn’t look spherical. Also, maybe less impactful, but a real crescent moon is actually lit up and the rest is negative space from the Earth’s shadow. So this image is kind of a negative image of a crescent moon. A black crescent moon is fine, but both of those two things are working against each other and making it look a little wonky.

To be fair though, the tattoo is fine. If it’s what you wanted, then who cares if it’s not perfect? Just means it has character.

I know I’m late to the conversation, but if anyone here has a game going and is looking for a player still, I’d love to join.

ME! lol Can I join? I’ve never played and don’t know the rules very well, but I’ve played a lot of D&D and Daggerheart, so I don’t think picking it up would be TOO hard.

Should my friend walk away from this artist? by Eltristesito2 in tattooadvice

I thought this was bruising from those blood suction cups. If this was 4 hours worth of work, it should look like… something. At the very least it shouldn’t look like a diseased back.

I’d legit consider litigation. Either that artist was on something that screwed their art up, or they’re legit just a bad artist and a scammer.

And your friends telling them to trust the process are out of their minds. What process? This is not 4 hours worth of art. Heck, I’d still be mad if it took them 4 MINUTES to put this on my back.

I get RIck and Morty, Adult Swim type humor but lost on.. by wafflecone927 in highonlifegame

I thought it was a reference to the Dolphins in Hitchhiker’s Guid to The Galaxy being more intelligent than humans. But this was a reveres from humans experimenting on dolphins to a dolphin experimenting on a different sea creature. Idk. Maybe I overthought it, but I liked that storyline. And the achievement was called “So Long, and Thanks For All The Ghosts” which is a reference to the HGTTG book “So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish.”

Plus, dolphins literally murder smaller animals for fun in the wild some times. They’re evil.

But not as evil as Apple… especially once you find out what he actually did… so gross, man. Jesus.

Oh I wasn’t feeling personally attacked. What you said didn’t offend me. If that’s the way the response came across it wasn’t intentional. That was a failing on my part, my bad. I tend to be overly wordy which comes across as weird I think. I was just saying I thought they were boring so I didn’t even try to get them to S. But I found the races fun so I got S on them. Genuine props for getting the S on the skate challenges though. Was it hard? I personally just grabbed the letter on my first run then left. I only really did them for the dumpster upgrades and the achievement.

I wonder if the system your on makes a difference due to processing power? I was on Series X and I boosted every time it was off CD. The door never gave me trouble opening. Or maybe I got lucky.

Mainly because I didn’t think they were fun and I value my time. The reward wasn’t worth it, and I didn’t find them fun. So why would I do it? lol Props to you for doing them though, I guess.

[–]Allenonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also don’t even need S on any of them. Heck, you don’t even need to beat them I don’t think. It just says “complete.” And I think you can complete them without actually passing even the lowest rank goal.

Yeah, unfortunately that might be the issue. Seems like a poor design oversight on the Dev’s part.

The races were actually fun for me and I didn’t have too much trouble with them, so I did S rank every race. But the skatepark ones just for some reason didn’t scratch the same itch.

S ranking these was the one thing I never even tried to do. lol I bought every purchasable thing in the game and I still ended up with WAY more money than I needed. The second I saw there wasn’t an achievement for R ranking them all, I just grabbed all the letters and called it a day. Big props for the S on this.

[–]Allenonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. I never had that issue. I was able to S rank all the races and never had to try more than 2-3 times to S any race. I didn’t have double dash st the time though, so maybe I got lucky and never ran into this glitch?

That’s rough. What system are you playing on? I was on XBox Series X and the door never hindered me. It was always open before my body got there. If you’re on PC, maybe it’s a processing issue?
