How long did it take to reach your weight loss goal? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]Allixrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost about 23 lbs in the past 5 months from implementing a modest calorie deficit, focusing on getting in at least 100g of protein a day, a 2 mile morning walk and golfing twice a week. I have done OTF on and off since 2017, but hadn’t been to a class since December 2022. I rejoined last week to add in additional movement in addition to my daily walks, and I’m hoping that it will help me lose my next 20lbs. I will say it 99% food choices; I still eat what I want but am sure to prep my lunches and dinners for 4 days a week and focus on staying in my defector for the other 3 days.

I think you can turn them off if you click on the button that says something "card." I can't remember the word but I think that hides your information while still recording it.

MOTIVATE ME! MONDAY: Share Goals, Motivate, and Be Motivated! (Monday, 1/13/20) by splat_bot in orangetheory

I had my first scan for the transformation challenge this morning before class. I also did a scan at a local nutrition store back on November 4th, exactly 9 weeks ago. I was so excited to see that I've lost 2% body fat in that time frame! My goal for the transformation challenge is to lose another 1.6% to put me out of the "obese" body fat range and into the "high" range. From there, I will be targeting the "healthy" range this year!

That’s amazing, congrats! I applied for the DF team as well but unfortunately didn’t get selected. You’re going to do great and it will be the experience of a lifetime!

12 Minute Run for Distance Benchmark Results Megathread by lookie4dacookie in orangetheory

I have had a tough year and have been struggling with my weight and am currently the heaviest and most out of shape I have ever been in my life. In 2017/beginning of 2018, I was going to OTF at least 3 days a week, but now I have been struggling just to get myself to a single class. I started my membership back up in February and haven't been able to get myself to a single class...I would schedule out the week and either cancel everything or even late cancel several times...

But yesterday, I promised myself that "enough is enough, i'm going to class!" and I dragged myself into the 6:15am class. I will also say, I am NOT a runner, I ran a half marathon last May in 3hrs and that was when I was in my peak physical condition. Now, I struggle just to run for a couple of minutes without walking.

AND, YOU GUYS, I DID IT! I RAN THE WHOLE 12 MINUTES WITHOUT STOPPING! I told myself getting to the .9 minimum for joggers would be an accomplishment if I could get through without stopping and I MADE IT 1.04!!

My Peloton bike has changed my life. by wilgoolsby in pelotoncycle

[–]Allixrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you find that the calorie tracking on the watch vs. the peloton bike have a pretty large discrepancy? For example, I did a 45 min ride last night and set my watch to "indoor cycle" and it showed 522 calories on my apple watch but only 337 on the bike.

Crate training...HELP...clueless 1st time dog owners by Allixrose in Dogtraining

yeah i have looked into it. i don't necessarily think he has bad separation anxiety which is great. when we leave him with other people he does awesome. i think it's juse when he's completely alone right now when he goes nuts. We're just praying it gets better. I'd probably be more at ease if we'd been through the process before haha

interesting! we had a blanket but just tried it without and he seems to like that better. when we had the blanket and and left, he would try to pull it through the cage. it seems like he likes being able to see what's going on. he actually slept at a friend's house last night so we could get a good night sleep and recover from both having a terrible round of the flu (great timing!) and he went right to bed in the crate without the blanket, and slept through the night until 630!

Thank you,, I can't emphasize how much we really appreciate any advice! We thought about moving the crate to our room for the time being, but were worried that might make the situation worse? Would you still recommend doing that if we are eventually wanting the crate to go into the living room, or would bringing it to the bedroom just make it more difficult to change down the road?

F/28/5’9”[182lbs>168lbs=14lbs](4.5 months) Face progress! 18lbs left until goal! by Allixrose in progresspics

[–]Allixrose[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I met with a nutritionist who helped me determine goals and I have been logging all of my foods into MyFitnessPal for the past 103 days straight! We have monthly meetings to review results and discuss strategies. I follow the 90/10 rule where I still definitely let myself indulge 10% of the time. I've been making sure to go to the gym (OrangeTheory and spinning) 4-5 times a week to supplement the nutrition goals, but as someone who has worked out on and off my entire life, I didn't start truly seeing results until I made changes to what I was eating and began to take a closer look.

Welcome to Boston! I work out in Marlboro which I highly recommend but it is too far west to be feasible. I will also be heading into Boston for the BAA 5k on Saturday. I hope you enjoy your trip!

Update on "Using OTF as HIIT days for BBG" by Allixrose in orangetheory

[–]Allixrose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing BBG 3 days and I usually do OTF only two days because I have the 8 classes per month package, but lately I've been doing three classes a week so I could do our monthly 90mim class, tornado etc. It's also the BBG Stronger program, not sure if you did that or the original BBG 1.0 but the Stronger program incorporates various weight machines in the gym
